Chapter 7 His Date with the Mistress

"Mrs. Kelly, nice ride!" Lily teased her casually.

Jessica was amused by her exaggerated expression, but a familiar figure caught her eye.

Immediately, Jessica's pupils contracted sharply.

Not far away, a luxurious red Ferrari was parked by the roadside. James lazily loosened the buttons of his shirt, with his suit casually draped over his shoulder.

He was holding a bouquet of red roses. The bright red color was as glaring as blood.

Then, he walked into Ocean City Tower.

It was obvious that he had rushed over right after work. James had always been a serious person, a workaholic, and she had never seen anyone more important to him than his work.

And yet, he had brought flowers in a very romantic gesture.

So, it wasn't that he didn't understand romance before; he just didn't want to be romantic with her.

Jessica's eyes were painfully stung by the sight of those roses. In two years of marriage, he had never given her roses.

She clenched her fists, tears welling up in her eyes.

After hesitating for a moment, she followed him, feeling lost.

Having been married to him for so long, Jessica had suspected that he had another woman in his heart, but she had never seen her.

Jessica thought, 'Am I finally going to see her this time? As for that bouquet of roses, it must be for that woman, right?'

Jessica's heart ached. Her heartbeat quickened as if her heart was about to leap out of her chest.

She was extremely anxious. She wanted to know who the woman was, but she was also afraid that once she saw her, she would be even more desperate!

Finally, Jessica saw the woman in a long white dress, with long hair down to her waist. She smiled slightly, looking both intellectual and beautiful.

She had a gentle and friendly smile, and she spoke eloquently.

And in her hands, she held the roses that James had just given her.

Jessica felt a buzzing in her ears; her vision darkened, and she had to clench her teeth to keep her balance.

Her gaze fell on James.

Unfortunately, he didn't see her because all his attention was on that woman.

She had never seen this gentle smile on his lips before.

Jessica tightly clenched her fists, restraining the urge to rush over and question them.

Her heart ached more and more, and before she knew it, her face was already covered in tears.
