Chapter 8 I Won't Divorce

Rose saw the handsome James with the Ferrari behind him, and she felt immensely proud. Just thinking about being with such an outstanding man made her sure that all women would envy her to their guts.

But on the surface, she remained calm and gracefully accepted the flowers from James.

"James, I don't want to ruin your marriage and become your mistress," Rose said, leaning against him with a pitiful expression, "Besides, your grandfather wouldn't approve of us being together."

James gently comforted her, "You are the first woman I've ever had sex with, and you are my one and only."

Rose was stunned.

She hadn't expected that the heir of such a wealthy family would be a virgin. She felt incredibly lucky.

But then she gritted her teeth, thinking about that James's first time was wasted on that stupid woman, Jessica.

Yet, she felt secretly pleased.

Because she wasn't a virgin anymore, and if it weren't for Jessica, she might not have been able to let James, the heir of a wealthy family, fall deeply in love with her.

But Rose was confident that as long as she could sleep with James once, she would make him forget about that woman from that night and become infatuate with her.

After practicing yoga for so many years, she could perform even the most difficult posture. James, an inexperienced virgin, would surely be captivated by her.

Rose had a scheme in mind, but she quickly returned to her pitiful demeanor.

"James, you're so outstanding. I'm really afraid I don't deserve you."

Rose clutched her chest and said meaningfully, "James, you are my first man. Even if I can't marry you, I won't marry anyone else."

As the two were getting cozy, James's phone rang urgently.

'Jessica?'

A flash of anger crossed his eyes.

Jessica still had the nerve to call him.

"Hello?" His tone was slightly cold.

Jessica said, "James, about the divorce, I've changed my mind."

James paused. Jessica was even more shameless than he had imagined. Was she trying to blackmail him now?

James's tone was very cold, and even over the phone, it could make people feel scared and uneasy.

"What do you mean?"

"Come home first. We need to talk."

Jessica hung up after saying that. She did it on purpose. Seeing James standing next to another woman, she wasn't as magnanimous as she had imagined.

Rose's face also changed. She had vaguely heard that James's wife, Jessica, didn't want a divorce anymore.

If the two of them confessed to each other and James found out about her impersonation, she could be in trouble.

"Rose, I need to go back first," James said truthfully. Rose immediately turned pale and grabbed his hand, "James, I don't want to share you with another woman. Don't go, okay?"

When James got home, it was already past eleven.

The villa was eerily quiet, with only a nightlight on in the living room.

Jessica was sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for him.

James took off his coat and loosened his tie. He said impatiently, "You don't agree to the divorce. Fine, how much do you want?"

He thought she just wanted more money.

Jessica's voice was hoarse as she spoke, "James, is it because of that woman that you want to divorce me?"

James's expression changed slightly but quickly returned to calm.

He didn't want to hide it from her anymore, nor did he feel the need to.

"Yes, I owe her an explanation." James admitted frankly.

Jessica smiled bitterly. She was unwilling to accept it. She had known him first and had always been by his side. How long had he known that woman, and he was already fascinated with her?

"I'm afraid I've changed my mind. I won't divorce you unless I'm dead."

James's brow furrowed slightly, and he said coldly, "Are you threatening me?"

Jessica's tone was light but very firm, "Yes, you can take my corpse to your grandfather. I will always belong to you."

James rubbed his forehead, suppressing his anger, and gritted his teeth, "Then what do you want?"

"I won't divorce you." Jessica threw out this sentence and walked towards the bedroom.

She cried at the moment she turned around.

For two whole years, she had been waiting for him to look back at her.

Her mother had told her before she died that most couples developed feelings over time after their marriages.

Love at first sight was love, just like her feelings for James.
