Chapter 1 Suicide
The Kennedy family's villa.
"Help! Ms. Clara Kennedy has committed suicide!"
A scream echoed through the entire villa.
Everyone in the living room rushed to the second floor.
Victoria Kennedy glanced towards Clara's room upstairs and lazily made her way up.
There were a lot of people in her room, but it was spacious enough.
Victoria looked around, noting the luxurious decor that screamed wealth and privilege.
A hint of mockery flashed in her eyes.
An angry voice cut through the chaos, "What the hell happened?"
A servant, kneeling on the floor, trembling, said, "Mr. Oliver Kennedy, we came to call Ms. Clara for dinner and found her lying on the fround. There was a suicide note and a bottle of sleeping pills by her bedside."
A suicide note? Sleeping pills?
Everyone's faces were filled with shock and horror.
Victoria was surprised. Clara was serious this time?
A handsome man got on one knee and silently picked Clara up. His face was solemn, and in a deep voice, he shouted, "Get her to the hospital!"
As he passed Victoria, his cold, deep eyes glared at her sharply.
"You better pray Clara is okay!" he snapped, and then strode out of the room.
Victoria said nothing.
Elodie Smith, Clara's mother, choked up, "Victoria, why did you drive your sister to this? How can you be so cruel?"
"If she wants to die, what does that have to do with me?" Victoria replied coldly.
"You bastard! She's your sister. How can you be so cold and heartless?" her father, Simon Kennedy, angrily berated her, not caring about her feelings at all.
She seemed used to it.
"How could the Kennedy family have such an ungrateful person like you? You're too cruel to be part of the Kennedy family!" Oliver cursed, leaning on his cane.
Victoria laughed, "Do you think I care about being part of the Kennedy family? If you have the guts, kick me out!"
Oliver couldn't stand Victoria's defiant attitude and threatened, "You're simply unreasonable! If anything happens to your sister, you..."
Victoria interrupted him, "What? You want me to be buried with her?"
She didn't believe Clara would just die like that. Someone so vain wouldn't kill herself.
"Do you think she's the queen?
"I'm also a daughter of the Kennedy family. Why should I always give in to Clara?" Victoria refuted.
Oliver angrily said, "Why? Think about the crazy things you've done over the past few years. Besides framing your sister and causing trouble, what else can you do? What can you bring to the Kennedy family?"
Victoria's eyes were deep, with emotions that were hard to read. The corners of her mouth curled slightly, giving off a cold vibe.
Yeah, how could she forget that Clara was known as the Pearl of Ridgewood, a title that brought the Kennedy family considerable benefits?
Then, Oliver said, "Your engagement to the Tudor family must be called off! With your tarnished reputation, the Tudor family won't allow you to marry into their family!"
Victoria rebelliously said, "What if I don't agree?"
Oliver's cane struck the ground forcefully, and the wrinkles on his face tightened. "It's not up to you!"
He then led a group of people to the hospital.
Victoria watched their departing backs, her heart unusually calm. She had been through such scenes countless times.
In the eyes of the Kennedy family, Clara was the pearl of the family, while Victoria was the most unloved.
The Kennedy family was deceived by Clara's poor acting because they were foolish and only cared about their interests.
But Victoria couldn't understand how a man as smart as Lucas Tudor could also be deceived by her.
She really couldn't fathom how he had become the heir of the Tudor family!
