Chapter 7: Blind Date

"This isn't something you need to worry about," Victoria said.

"And let everyone know there's a meeting in ten minutes," she added.

Victoria's voice was cold and direct.

Wesley had been Victoria's assistant for four years. She was always straight to the point, never wasting words or actions.

"Got it."

In those ten minutes, Victoria quickly reviewed several documents and made swift decisions.

Soon, Victoria walked into the conference room wearing a simple white business suit, tailored wide-leg trousers, and off-white high heels.

She exuded a cold, queenly aura.

Everyone was a bit nervous, barely daring to breathe.

They all knew Victoria's reputation and were wary of the young CEO.

She always acted with swift and decisive efficiency.

"Marketing Department, how's the preliminary testing phase of the Time series perfume?" Victoria asked, her sharp eyes on the marketing director.

The marketing director snapped to attention and reported, "The testing is complete. The feedback has been very positive. Here's our follow-up survey evaluation." He handed over the materials.

Wesley took them and passed them to Victoria.

Victoria quickly glanced through them and said, "Alright, release the product at noon."

Everyone was stunned.

Wasn't it supposed to be released at the end of the month?

Someone questioned, "Ms. Kennedy, didn't we schedule the Time series launch for the end of the month?"

Victoria heard this, lifted her eyelids, and her cold, stern eyes swept over the room. She slightly curled her lips and said, "That's right, but that was information fed to the public!"

Some were confused, while others suddenly understood.

She was trying to mislead the competitors.

"But our design and packaging aren't ready yet," someone else raised a concern.

The design director glanced at that person and said, "The product design and packaging were completed half a month ago, and Ms. Kennedy has already approved them."

Seeing some people still looking dissatisfied, Wesley added, "As for the launch event, Ms. Kennedy has already arranged everything. You don't need to worry."

Victoria issued a few more swift orders and then adjourned the meeting.

In Ridge, the Starry perfume brand and the Kennedy Group's Orchid perfume brand were competitors, both equally matched in strength. The Kennedy Group had always been suppressing the Horizon Group's Starry perfume brand. The Kennedy Group might have an edge in reputation over the Horizon Group, mainly because the Kennedy Group had Clara, who had been the runner-up in the national perfumery competition for two consecutive years, attracting consumers.

This time, the Kennedy Group launched their new product ahead of the Horizon Group, not to steal the spotlight, but because Victoria had been planning for this day.

At 11:30, Kennedy Group held a press conference, and at noon, they released the new Time series perfume.

By 12:30, the attention had skyrocketed, and the sales volume kept rising rapidly.

By 1:00, cheers came from the sales department. In just one hour, the Time series perfume had received over ten million orders.

And they hadn't even advertised beforehand, just held a press conference.

Inside the CEO's Office, Wesley, holding a tablet and watching the backend orders continuously increase, sighed, "Ms. Kennedy, your strategy worked brilliantly this time. We even saved on advertising costs."

Because of the hot topic of Victoria's broken engagement and the suspicion of being cheated on, and since the Orchid brand was under the Kennedy Group, any topic with the relevant keywords would lead to the Time series perfume released by the Orchid brand, equivalent to free advertising.

Moreover, the Orchid brand perfume had entered the domestic market three years ago, taking over half of the perfume market channels.

Its scent, product concept, and design packaging were all loved by the public, and every product launch attracted a lot of attention.

Victoria, staring at the data on the computer screen, seemed to think of something and instructed, "Wesley, make sure to strictly control the product quality."

"Understood."

Meanwhile, at the Vertex Holdings Group's office building, top floor.

The atmosphere was tense.

No one knew what was wrong with their CEO.

Everyone in the company was walking on eggshells.

Inside the CEO's Office, Alexander had just finished a meeting when he got a call from Nathan.

"Grandpa," Alexander greeted.

"Alexander, I've arranged a blind date for you tonight. You are not allowed to be late, not allowed to skip, and not allowed to refuse!" Nathan said sternly.

Alexander sat on the sofa, holding his forehead with one hand, his handsome face full of helplessness.

"Grandpa, what will it take for you to stop?" Alexander asked in a deep voice.

Nathan replied simply, "As long as you get married, I'll leave you alone."

Alexander rubbed his temples, not knowing what to say for a moment.

"Alexander, don't you dare stand me up, or you can stop calling me grandpa," Nathan warned over the phone.

Suddenly, Alexander said, "Give me the address."

Nathan quickly said, "Starlight Diner."

As if afraid Alexander would change his mind.

Meanwhile, at Kennedy Group, Victoria also got a call from her grandmother, Thalia Davis, who was in a nursing home.

"Grandma Davis, are you kidding me, a blind date?" Victoria said helplessly.

"How could I be joking with you? Do you still like Lucas and don't want to go?" Thalia said over the phone.

Victoria was speechless.

Thalia's words left her with no room to refuse.

"Grandma, I..." She was interrupted before she could finish.

"Victoria, I know you've been wronged in the Kennedy family."

"My only wish is for you to be happy. I've told you before, Lucas is not suitable for you. Since the engagement is broken, let's not think about him anymore."

Thalia was sitting on a bench outside the nursing home, basking in the sun, and earnestly advising Victoria, "I've found someone much better than Lucas for you.

"Let Clara have that scumbag Lucas."

Victoria pinched her brow, listening to Thalia's enthusiastic talk.

She sighed softly in her heart and said gently, "Alright."

Thalia, hearing her agreement, laughed heartily several times.

"I knew you would agree. Good girl, remember to go on the date. You don't need to visit me often; I have someone to take care of me. You should focus on finding a good relationship."

As long as Thalia was happy, Victoria would do anything.

Thalia was her only remaining family and the only person who truly cared for her.

At 5:30 PM.

Victoria's black Mercedes drove out of the company's underground garage.

Following the address given by Thalia, she arrived at Starlight Diner.

She didn't expect her first blind date to be in such a high-end place.

Starlight Diner gathered cuisines from various places, and to dine there, one had to book a month in advance.

It symbolized status and position, and those who dined there were usually influential and powerful.

It was also a favorite place for the wealthy to show off.

Today's blind date was definitely not pre-arranged but a last-minute arrangement.

So, if someone could book a private room at Starlight Diner on short notice, they must be quite capable.

Thalia hadn't revealed who the date was, and Victoria didn't even know the person's name.

After entering, she gave the private room name, and the waiter led her upstairs.
