Chapter 4 A Bold Idea

Dragons grew extremely fast, their bodies entering a state of craving all nutrients from the moment of birth. Newborn Dragons were capable of eating several times their own body size in food.

Normally, the dragon mother would prepare some prey for the Newborn Dragon to eat at birth.

Clearly, the White Dragon Mother was not a competent dragon mother, having prepared nothing for the hatchlings.

The nutrients in the eggshell were insufficient to satiate a voracious Newborn Dragon.

Especially one as large as Brian, who was much bigger than a typical Newborn White Dragon.

He was so hungry that he even considered eating dirt.

Dragons had a very broad diet, possessing a stomach that could digest almost anything.

Meat, plants, metals, minerals, magical items... dragons could consume nearly any material. Their digestive system was extraordinarily powerful, though many materials didn't taste good to dragons.

Earth and stones were also edible for dragons, providing inorganic substances that could accelerate the growth of scales and bones. Many Newborn Dragons ate dirt to stave off hunger when extremely hungry.

But dragons generally preferred to starve rather than eat dirt because of pride.

Proud dragons would never succumb to mere hunger.

Brian took action due to hunger, lowering his head to bite the ground.

He only felt his teeth ache from one bite, leaving a shallow white mark on the cave floor.

He sighed and murmured, "Can't bite through."

Brian's birthplace was an endless ice field, unlike the soft soil of jungles or wetlands.

The nest he was in was serpentine in shape, with walls and ceiling like mirrors of ice crystals, which were seemingly not naturally formed, likely crafted by the White Dragon Mother with frost, a common preference among White Dragons.

Even the nest floor was coated with a layer of ice crystals.

White Dragons loved to build nests with ice crystals, and their Dragon Claws had a special structure to prevent slipping.

Due to the long-term sub-zero temperatures of the ice field and the cold emanating from the White Dragon Mother's body, these ice crystals were extremely hard, almost like magically reinforced steel, even tougher in terms of durability.

Brian would be able to bite through them once he grew larger, but not now.

The poor Newborn Dragon couldn't even eat ice to stave off hunger and had his teeth hurt in the process.

'Life is tough...' Brian thought. He bared his aching teeth, drooping his eyelids, adopting a pitiful look as he gazed at the White Dragon Mother.

He opened his mouth as he extended his Dragon Claws, pointing to his empty mouth.

He said, "Please give me some food, my lovely and generous White Dragon Mother."

The vocal cords of a newly born Newborn Dragon were relatively fragile, making it difficult for Brian to speak complete dragon language or the common continental language. Speaking his long true name had already strained his throat.

It would take about two to three weeks before a Newborn Dragon could speak normally and clearly.

At the same time, Brian's obvious gesture had no effect.

He saw no reaction from the White Dragon Mother, who looked at him with an expression that suggested she thought he was foolish.

When Brian saw the appearance of the White Dragon Lady, a bold idea popped into his mind - he wanted to use this method to acquire food.
