Chapter 5 Notorious

Diana bit her lip. "Yeah. Sorry."

She limped back, her leg shivering and sweat pouring down her face.

Henry watched her, eyes deep and intense.

Everyone was shocked that Henry took Diana horseback riding. Was he into her? Seeing her return all messed up, they couldn't help but sneer.

An adopted Windsor daughter trying to get close to Henry? Ridiculous.

"Come on, I'll take you back," Oliver said, looking grim.

"I have my own car," Diana replied.

Oliver scoffed. "Can you even drive like that?"

Her leg hurt badly. Changing clothes, she noticed her inner thigh red and bruised. Without a word, she got into his car.

As soon as they left Golden Horizon Resort, Oliver asked coldly, "What did you say to Henry?"

"Nothing," Diana said.

"Mr. Spencer isn't someone who can change my relationship with Clara with just a few words from you," Oliver said.

"If you really love her, break off our engagement and be with her openly, instead of sneaking around," Diana shot back.

"Diana!" Oliver slammed on the brakes, nearly making her hit her head. "Don't think you can leave. I won't let the Windsor family off."

"You're so shameless," Diana snapped.

"When our family was in trouble, it was the Windsors who forced me to get engaged to you. That's the shamelessness."

Diana had thought Oliver was willing to get engaged, but she didn't expect it.

"Diana, stay away from the Spencers. You can't afford to mess with them," Oliver warned.

"Oliver, I'm warning you too. Don't mess with my family, or I'll marry Henry and then see what you can do!" Diana retorted.

Oliver's face darkened. He unlocked the door. "Get out."

Diana got out, eyes red.

Oliver didn't want to break off the engagement; he just wanted to humiliate her and the Windsors.

For this, Oliver had endured for five years. His car sped away, and Diana's tears fell.

When Diana took a cab home, it was just past lunchtime. Nathan and Celeste were out, and the housekeeper, seeing her return, took the dishes straight to the kitchen.

She had no status in the Windsor family, so even the servants looked down on her.

Back in her room, Diana thought a lot. To get rid of the Windsors and Oliver, seeking help from Henry might be her best bet.

But how could she get close to someone like Henry?

Diana opened her phone and searched for "Henry." There was little useful info, just one photo showing his back.

A rainy day, a black suit, a black umbrella, with two people following him, exuding a villainous aura.

Henry was second in line in his family. The Spencers were one of the top aristocratic families in Evergreen City, with a long history. Henry had served in the military and joined Apex Global Enterprises after retiring. Ruthless and strong, he quickly secured his position.

Rumor had it Henry had a son, but his name and age were unknown, and the truth was uncertain.

Diana took out the $200,000 check from her pocket, deep in thought.

Apex Global Enterprises' headquarters was in Evergreen City. Although Henry kept a low profile when he came to Velvet City, it was still possible to find out his whereabouts.

Appearing at the hot spring resort with a group, Diana immediately drew attention.

She was beautiful, with great skin, wearing a waist-cinching long dress that made her waist look incredibly slim. A guy was leaning close, talking intimately, his actions suggestive.

"Mr. Spencer, do you know that Diana over there? I heard you took her horseback riding a few days ago?" the man next to Henry said. "You'd better stay away from her. She's an adopted Windsor, and she's notorious."
