Chapter 7

"What's your name?" Albert asked, still running his eyes over her as soon as Sylvester left.

"Melinda." Melinda replied, intertwining her fingers.

"Melinda." Albert repeated slowly. "Sorry about the way I look, I was just a victim of circumstance." He said and gritted his teeth.

"But I have to show you to your room first before I get changed." He said and began making his way upstairs.

"Please come with me, ma'am." Albert gestured and Melinda trailing slowly behind him. They made their way slowly up the flight of stairs until they got to a passage way that led to tens of rooms.

Melinda couldn't keep her mouth closed as she beheld the intricate designs of the house. Sylvester's mansions looked nothing like a hotel but rather, an exquisite hotel.

Melinda was so lost in staring at the paintings on the wall that she hadn't seen Albert make a turn. She looked up and darted her eyes quickly around the room until she saw his shadow making way into another corner. She followed it until she finally caught up with him.

"This is where you'll be be staying for the main time, madam." Albert stopped in front of a room and said.

"Here?" Melinda asked and Albert nodded his head.

He placed his hand on the knob, turned it and pushed the door open. He walked in into the room and Melinda followed suit.

"Oh my goodness!" Melinda couldn't hide her excitement as she looked at the room. The size of the room was larger than all of her house put together.

"Am I really going to be staying here... alone?" She asked as she made her way further into the room.

"Yes, madam."

"Whatever you need is here. You can check the closet in the dressing room for the clothes Mr Sylvester for for you, and if perhaps you need anything, there's a bell close to the bed, just ring it and I will attend to your call." Albert said and without waiting for Melinda to respond, he turned around and walked out of the room, leaving Melinda to her thoughts.

Melinda sought for the words to use in describing the room, but there was none, the room was simply majestic and she had never seen anything like this in her entire life.

She suddenly remembered that Albert had mentioned something to her about new clothes in a dressing room . She looked around for where the dressing room was and made her way toward it when she finally found it.

She carefully opened the door and made her way inside. As soon as she opened one of the closet and saw varieties of beautiful dresses hanging from it. She gasped and shone her eyes like a mesmerised child as she ran her hands toward the dresses.

She took one of the dresses and changed into it.

"It fits like a glove." She said and twirled around in the dress but suddenly, her excitement suddenly metamorphosed into concern.

"Did Sylvester get these dresses for me?" She asked herself and took out another dress to change into and to her surprise, the dress fitted well just as the first one did.

She furrowed her brows and tried out a few more clothes until she realised that they were all her size.

"How is this possible...how does Sylvester know my body size?" She intoned bit when her eyes caught the array of perfumes displayed on a dresser inside the bedroom, the lingering question on her mind disappeared. She made her way back out and went straight for the dresser that had a mirror on it. She sat down by the dresser and began to run through the perfumes, trying out the different fragrances.

They all smelt majestic and feminine and Melinda quickly made her mind up on the perfume she was going to wear more.

She opened the dresser and found skin care products inside.

"Woah, this cost a fortune." She muttered to herself as she took them out and inspected them when suddenly, she heard the sound of the door opening.

She quickly put the items back and closed the door. She turned back around, hoping to find Albert but instead, it was Sylvester standing with his arms folded in front of the door.

"I see you like the perfumes I got for you. I picked then out myself." He said proudly and began strolling toward her.

Melinda kept mute and continued staring at him until he got to where she sat.

"I need to ask you something." Melinda said, getting yo from the seat and putting as much distance between them as possible.

"Since I'm here now, can I see my son?" Melinda's heart suddenly began throbbing faster as soon as she said.

"Oh you mean, my son?" Sylvester said, a slick smile creeping into his face.

"Where is he and who is with him?" Melinda asked while keeping a straight face.

"He's with the nanny, but she is not here currently." He replied.

"What?!" She exclaimed, her eyes bulging. "what do you mean by that. What do you mean she's not here?" Melinda asked, getting closer to him on impulse.

"So where is she then and where has she taken my child to then?" Melinda asked again.

"Melinda, sometimes you forget that I am now the one in custody of the child and you have nothing to do with him."

"So is that why you brought me here?" Melinda asked, raising her eyebrows, she was suddenly turned of acting soft.

"I brought you here for your safety."

"Take me back then!"

Sylvester stared at her for a while, wondering if she was still in her senses.

"Don't you like the room Albert has brought you?" Sylvester asked and Melinda discreetly darted her eyes across the room.

"Answer me, young lady, isn't this place fancy enough for you to stay in. I personally suggested that he brought you here. This is one of the biggest rooms I have in my house and didn't you see those beautiful dresses I got for you?"

"About the dresses, how do you know my body size?"

"That's easy. I have a sister that looks exactly like you so getting you clothes that fit isn't a problem." Sylvester replied.

Melinda knew that wasn't true but she didn't want to press the issue any further, she just wanted to see her son after so long. She wondered how he was being fed.

"I need to see my son, Slyvester!" Melinda insisted, completely ignoring what Sylvester had said
