Chapter 12 A Born Leader

From start to finish, William just sat there, not saying a peep, like he was frozen in fear.

What a wimp! Seeing William all scared and useless, Jasmine was fuming.

She thought, 'You think you're all that, huh? Shouldn't you step up when it counts? Turns out you're more scared than us girls. I can't believe I thought I could marry someone as useless as you.'

As she glanced at William, Jasmine wished all his big talk was real.

She imagined him standing up and saving them like some invincible hero. But nope, William let her down. He really was useless.

William found himself in a bind. The powerful Dark Lord had to confront these low-life thugs? Yet, Jasmine was Fiona's daughter, no less.

In that desperate moment, William's voice cut through the tension. "Get out now, or you're all dead!"

Hearing his voice, Jasmine's eyes lit up, but when she saw it was William, she got even angrier.

Jasmine snapped, "Can you actually solve the problem? Stop pretending."

She was super annoyed that William was still trying to show off.

"Kill him!" Owen ordered, and a bunch of big, burly bodyguards charged at William.

They wanted to rip him apart. "Asking for death!"

Jasmine couldn't bear to watch.

But just then, a group of people showed up, and the leader smashed a wine bottle over a bodyguard's head, blood splattering everywhere.

The sudden chaos stunned everyone, including William. He was just about to take them down himself.

Owen's crew was about to lose it, but when they saw the newcomers' faces, they went pale and shut up, like they'd seen a ghost.

The new guy was young, in a suit, but with a fierce look.

He stepped forward quickly. A few hard slaps landed on Owen's crew's faces.

His men brutally broke the bodyguards' legs.

Screams filled the place.

But Owen and his crew kept their heads down, not daring to say a word.

The guy said, "You all got a death wish? Causing trouble on my turf?"

"Do you lose your minds when you see women? Do you know who these people are? The daughter of the Watson family!"

He slapped Owen and his crew again.

Everyone was stunned. Who was this guy? Who could shut these lunatics up so fast?

Even William had to ask, "Who is he?"

Alec said enviously, "That's Francis Cox, Kyle Cox's son, the biggest kingpin in Starlight City. Francis is also the toughest thug around. A born leader! I wish I had half of Francis's charisma."

The others suddenly got it. "So this bar belongs to Kyle. No wonder!"

Hearing that Francis was Kyle's son, William's face changed. He'd run into the son of his enemy here.

Cassidy also said admiringly, "Francis is even more capable and has more leadership qualities than Kyle. Francis is a top figure in Starlight City. A future big shot."

Kyle used to just control the dark side of Starlight City, doing the dirty work.

But with Francis's help, Kyle's forces started to come out on top, building a business empire.

Jasmine blurted out, "William, did you see that? That's what real charisma and dominance look like! No matter how big the issue in Starlight City, Francis can handle it with a slap. What do you have to compare with Francis?"

After dealing with Owen and his crew, Francis smiled and walked over to Jasmine and her group. "Ms. Watson, Ms. Torres. Sorry you had to go through that."

Jasmine and her friends immediately thanked him.

Francis grinned and said, "Ms. Watson, can I buy you a few drinks?"

Jasmine looked at William with a smug expression.

Her look said it all, 'See? Even someone as impressive as him is paying attention to me. What makes you think you can marry me? You don't deserve it.'

Right then, William stepped forward and asked, "You're Kyle's son?"

Francis's followers immediately snapped, "How dare you call Mr. Kyle Cox by his name?"

Francis signaled them to chill, looked at William, and nodded. "Yeah, got something to say?"

But without another word, William threw a brutal punch.

Francis's face caved in, blood pouring out.

William followed up with several more punches, turning Francis's face into a bloody mess.

Everyone was stunned. No one saw this coming.

Had William lost his mind? How could he hit Francis?

Francis was even more shocked. Just because he was Kyle's son, he had to get beaten?

Jasmine and the others, snapping out of it, were frantic. "William, what are you doing?"

Francis's followers started to react.

But William wasn't done. He grabbed Francis's hand and broke all his fingers one by one.

Francis let out gut-wrenching screams, rolling on the ground in agony.

Jasmine and the others were completely floored. "William, are you nuts?"

What was William doing? Was he totally insane? Was it because he couldn't stand Jasmine mocking him, and to prove he was tougher than Francis, he beat him up?

But the kicker was that William beat up Kyle's son. Even the Watson family couldn't handle this.

Francis's followers glared at William, ready to tear him apart. "Kill him!"

Jasmine panicked. "What do we do? What do we do now?"

Cassidy quickly pulled Jasmine out of the bar. "You better call your parents fast! Let them figure something out!"

The others bolted too, not wanting to get involved.

Several of Francis's followers immediately carried the unconscious Francis out. "Hurry up and take Mr. Francis Cox back! Take him too. Let Mr. Kyle Cox deal with him personally!"

More people were about to drag William away.

William said, "I'll go with you!"

He just wanted to send Kyle a message, making a big scene on purpose.

Loyalty Manor was Kyle's fortress. There were thousands of guards protecting it.

When the news of Francis getting brutally beaten came, everyone in Loyalty Manor was shocked.

Even Kyle, who was sound asleep, was roused from his slumber. He took charge, positioning people by the door, eager to find out why William had inexplicably attacked Francis.

When Fiona and Eugene heard the news, Fiona almost fainted.

Fiona naturally understood the reason, William wanted to avenge her.

She cried out, "My poor William, why did you provoke him?"

Eugene was furious. "You said William actually went to beat Francis? Is he asking for death? Idiot!"
