Chapter 25 Dare to Do It but Not Admit It

At this moment, over at the Watson Mansion, Frank and his crew were all questioning, "Grandpa, we heard William's hunting for his mom's ring. What's that got to do with us?"

Craig's face got all weird, and he couldn't help but spill, "Actually, it kinda does."

"What?" Everyone turned to Craig, totally confused.

Craig went on, "Years back, William's mom, Eden, came to me. She wanted to thank Fiona and Eugene, so she asked me to give them a gemstone ring. She said the ring had some secret that could make the Watson family big-time."

"But I stared at that thing forever and couldn't figure it out. Even had some others take a look, but nada. Then Aaron got interested in the gemstone, so I sold it to him for $9.82 million."

"You could say the Watson family's success today is all thanks to that $9.82 million."

As Craig finished his words, the Watson clan was floored; they never thought their success was all because of Eden.

Craig then gave a stern warning. "But you absolutely can't say a word about this. Don't tell anyone, especially Eugene and his family. We must never admit to this."

Everyone nodded. "Got it."

Meanwhile, William got back to Azure Villas.

He bumped into Jasmine and her family coming back from a walk.

William said, "Fiona, I was right. My mom's ring was with the Watson family."

Eugene and Jasmine's faces turned sour. "William, what crap are you talking about? This is slander. It's been twenty years, I don't know anything about a ring."

William said, "I'm not talking about you; it was your dad who did it."

But that just made Eugene madder. "William, what do you mean? Now you're accusing my dad? The Watson family is respectable; you think we'd want your little ring?"

Jasmine chimed in, "William, are you trying to shake us down? Fine, how much do you want? I'll give it to you."

Jasmine was even more disgusted with William. She thought he was rotten to the core.

Fiona couldn't understand why William was so sure that the Watson family had Eden's ring, as she had never seen it.

William said, "Once we confront your dad, we'll find out if he took it or not."

Eugene immediately agreed, "Fine, let's go. We'll confront him. If my dad didn't take it, you'll be sorry."

Soon, the four of them arrived at the Watson Mansion.

Craig, feeling a bit guilty, asked, "What are you doing here?"

Eugene asked, "Dad, William said his mom's ring was lost at the Watson family and you took it. Is that true?"

As soon as those words were out, the Watson family almost lost it. They had just been talking about this.

Frank and the others immediately looked grim.

Craig, being older and more experienced, stayed cool and denied, "I took his mom's ring? No way. I don't even know who his mom is. Eugene, what do you mean by this? Is he questioning me?"

Fiona believed it because Craig hadn't even met Eden back then, let alone the so-called ring.

Eugene and William were furious. "Did you hear that? He didn't take it. He doesn't even know your mom. What else can you say?"

But the fleeting panic on Craig's face and the reactions of Frank and the others didn't escape William's notice.

Craig was lying, denying it.

William said with a cold smile, "Craig, you dare to do it but not admit it, huh?"

That one sentence made everyone in the Watson family furious.
