Chapter 3 They're All Lying on the Ground Now

William explained, "Yeah, 'cause the four big-shot wizards of Eldoria tried to keep me out!"

His casual comment made the trio go pale.

Jasmine scoffed, "What kind of BS are you spewing? Mom, listen to him. How can he say such crazy stuff?"

Already not a fan of William, Jasmine let her frustration fly.

Eugene's face twisted.

Fiona was dumbstruck.

'What on earth is William thinking? This is utterly absurd. The four top wizards banding together to thwart him? Who does he think he is?' they pondered.

Not even the influential Davis family could manage that feat. While they were wealthy in Starlight City, the four wizards were legendary figures, completely out of their league.

Jasmine was set on busting William's lie. "Even if the wizards stopped you, how'd you get out?"

William, cool as a cucumber, said, "They're all lying on the ground now!"

Jasmine was losing it. "Mom! Did you hear that?"

'Is he out of his mind? What was he thinking saying that? If he stuck around, who knows what other crazy things he might say. And he actually wanted to marry me?' Jasmine couldn't even begin to wrap her head around it.

Eugene appeared visibly irritated. He had a strong aversion to liars. In the business world, he considered them the worst kind of people to deal with.

Fiona urged, "Alright, William, enough with the jokes! We'll talk at home!"

Eventually, they all piled into a fancy car.

Jasmine turned away, flipping through some documents. She had an interview with Rose Corporation tomorrow.

Rose Corporation was making its debut in Eldoria, and everyone in Starlight City and Eldoria was buzzing.

People were fighting tooth and nail to get into Rose Corporation! It was a tough gig to land.

Fiona couldn't help but say, "Jasmine, talk to William. He's our guest, be nice!"

"Fine, don't blame me then!" Jasmine turned to William as she asked, "What's your educational background?"

William replied, "Never went to school."

He grew up on Paradise Island, never set foot in a school.

Eugene was shocked. "What? Never went to school?"

'An illiterate. How could he be a match for Jasmine?' he sneered inwardly.

Jasmine laughed and kept going, "So what do you do for a living now?"

William said, "I don't have a job either."

Jasmine's smile widened. "Of course, no school, no job. Even our security guards have college degrees!"

Jasmine's questions were sharp. "So what can you do? You're an adult, you must have some skills, right?"

After grilling him, they had a rough idea of William. He possessed nothing and seemed incapable of achieving anything. He was the epitome of failure.

Eugene had always kept an eye on the boys around Jasmine. William didn't hold a candle to any of them.

Knowing this, Jasmine had zero interest in William. He was the worst of the bunch. Not even close to her hero, Randal.

Out of anger, Jasmine couldn't focus on her documents and just played with her phone. As she scrolled, she suddenly said, "I know why Randal and the others came to the airport!"

"What?" Eugene and Fiona leaned in.

Jasmine said, "The four great wizards are here to welcome a VIP!"

Eugene was stunned. "What kind of VIP needs the four wizards to roll out the red carpet?"

Jasmine was excited. "According to the info, the wizards are throwing a big ceremony tonight for this VIP!"

She looked at William sharply. "Weren't they supposed to stop you from coming to Eldoria? Your lie is so busted!"

Fiona's expression darkened as William's lie was effortlessly uncovered. She had even entertained the idea that William might be someone significant.

Eugene said seriously, "Young man, it's okay to have no skills or education, but you gotta be real!"

William replied, "They're just scared of my wrath and are holding the ceremony to calm me down!"

He had already gotten the scoop from Bradley.

"You..." Jasmine couldn't wrap her head around how William could still talk like that after being caught lying.

To Eugene, William was just plain unreasonable.

Soon enough, they rolled up to the swanky villa district in Starlight City—Azure Villas.

Only eight standalone villas here, each with its own private garden.

William asked, "Is this Magical Ice Energy?"

He was surprised to sense a stream of Magical Ice Energy beneath the area. Perfect for keeping his Fire Venom in check.

He'd already sent Bradley to hunt down some Magical Mountain Energy for the same reason.

What a stroke of luck!

Looking around, he noticed pieces of Fire Energy Stone placed to balance out the cold from the Magical Ice Energy. Without this setup, anyone residing here for a few months would be in serious trouble. Clearly, someone was well-versed in their knowledge.

But to Jasmine, William's look of surprise was like a country bumpkin seeing the big city for the first time. Now he'd definitely want to crash at her place.

Fiona said, "William, from now on, this is your home! I've already set up a room for you! Make yourself at home."

As soon as Fiona said this, Jasmine immediately shouted, "Dad! I don't want him moving in!"

Eugene quickly chimed in, "Fiona, suddenly letting a strange man move in is too inconvenient. Especially since Jasmine is grown up now."

Eugene looked at William and said, "How about I buy you a villa? I'll arrange for a butler and servants to take care of you."

William smiled. "Mr. Watson, no need for all that. I'll just stay here."

He'd finally found a place that could suppress his Fire Venom; no way he was letting it go.

Jasmine and Eugene were both stunned. They didn't expect William to be so bold. He was actually insisting on moving in. Obviously, he had ulterior motives!

Fiona immediately said, "Alright, William will stay here then!"

Jasmine was furious. "Mom, you guys!"

But she had bigger fish to fry right now. As for William, she'd definitely find a way to kick him out.

Jasmine and Eugene ignored William and started talking about the grand ceremony.

Jasmine's eyes lit up. "If I can attend the ceremony, I could meet my hero, Randal!"

She grabbed Eugene's arm and started shaking it. "Dad! Think of a way! I want to go to the ceremony!"

Eugene frowned. "If we could attend a ceremony hosted by the four great wizards, it would be a huge honor. It would also boost the Watson Family's rep. But for a ceremony of this level, very few people in Starlight City are qualified to attend. Let alone us."

Jasmine pleaded, "Dad, please, you must have a way!"

Hearing this, William chuckled. It was just a matter of his word as to who could attend.

He couldn't help but say, "If you want to go, I..."

But before he could finish, Jasmine cut him off, "Stop daydreaming, it's not for you!"

"Alright, I'll contact someone and ask!" Eugene immediately went to make some calls.

A few minutes later, Eugene laughed and said, "The ceremony will be held at Azure Waters Manor!"

Jasmine was stunned. "Isn't that Mr. Gray's estate?"

Eugene said, "Yes, Quincy's estate is hosting the ceremony! Quincy is in charge of everything! He agreed to give us invitations! But there are only three!"

Eugene glanced at William. "You don't get one!"

Fiona suggested, "How about I give my spot to William?"

Eugene immediately refused, "No way. For a ceremony of this level, the invitations must be personalized for security reasons. No one can substitute."

William smiled. "It's okay! I can attend. You'll see me there."

Jasmine was about to confront him about his lies.

Was William still bragging? What kind of status did he think he had to be qualified to attend such a high-level ceremony?

Even they had just happened to know someone. Otherwise, even with Eugene's status as The Pharmaceutical Tycoon of Starlight City, he wouldn't have been qualified to attend.

In the evening, Jasmine and the other two excitedly headed to Azure Waters Manor.

At this moment, Azure Waters Manor was buzzing, luxury cars were gathering, and legendary figures were mingling.

Jasmine was incredibly excited. "I'm about to meet my hero!"

Seeing William, Jasmine was confused. "William, what are you doing here?"
