Chapter 36 Eden - Unparalleled Beauty and Talent

William gave a nod. "Yeah, I should've brought more cash to thank you guys."

Not just a few hundred grand, even tens of millions or hundreds of millions would be cool.

But Jessica switched it up. "But you look like a broke dude. Can't even scrape together a few thousand bucks. My folks should save rich people next time. What's the point of saving poor folks? They won't visit you in twenty years, and when they do, they bring nothing."

Kieran was fuming, practically wheezing. "Jessica, that's enough. How did I end up with a daughter like you?"

Clearly, he couldn't keep Jessica in check.

Jessica pressed on, "I'm just speaking the truth. Hey, what do you even do for a living?"

William shrugged. "I don't have a job."

The Dark Lord didn't need a 9-to-5.

Jessica sneered even more, "Mom, Dad, did you hear that? No job and he dares to come here to thank you. What's his angle? Get out of my house right now."

Kieran snapped, "Watch your mouth. If you can't talk properly, then zip it."

The Ward couple were super kind. "Sorry you had to see that."

William waved it off. "No biggie."

William and the Wards kept chatting about Eden.

Jessica wanted to boot William out, but her phone rang. Her face went pale, and she rushed to her room to take the call.

William picked up on her panic. Jessica was definitely keeping something hidden.

Inside the room, Jessica pleaded, "Mr. Richards, please give me a bit more time. I'll get the money, I swear. Just don't come to my house. Don't let my parents know. I'm begging you!"

Even though she was in her room, William heard every word.

Turned out, Jessica had taken out a high-interest loan online. So her high spending made sense now.

The Wards ran a breakfast stall and didn't make ends meet. Just Jessica's outfit alone would take them two or three years to earn.

After the call, Jessica rushed out of her room.

She demanded, reaching out, "Mom, how much money do you have left on your account? Hand it over."

Ruby was flustered. "What do you need it for? I just gave you $5,000 last week. I only have $7,000 left, and that's for your dad's medical bills."

"Why are you being so stingy? I need it for something important. If I spend a little now to spruce myself up, I can snag a rich boyfriend. Then a few thousand, even a few million, will be easy to get. Dad's illness can wait a bit." Jessica almost snatched the card from Ruby's pocket.

Kieran sighed deeply. He couldn't control Jessica anymore.

After getting the card, Jessica glared at William. "What are you looking at, broke dude? If you have the guts, take out tens of thousands to thank me."

Then Jessica grabbed some property documents and hurried out.

William said, "Mr. Ward, don't stress about your health; these are just minor issues. I'll bring some medicine tomorrow to help you feel better."

He had already scoped out their health.

"William, let me tell you more about Eden. She's something else. She was seriously injured but didn't go to the hospital, and she bounced back in a month," Kieran said.

Hearing this, William was even more convinced that Eden wasn't just anyone.

How else could she dodge multiple assassination attempts while pregnant with him? It was definitely not a fluke.

Besides help from others, Eden must have had some serious skills.

How could an ordinary woman meet Tristan and get taken in by Paradise Island?

No way!

Eden was definitely not simple!

William had also heard Tristan's take on Eden, unparalleled beauty and talent.
