Chapter 4 William Has No Seat

William strolled over and said, "Yeah, I'm here for the ceremony."

Jasmine scoffed, "Seriously? You think you're qualified? Got an invite?"

William shook his head. "Nope! But this shindig can't kick off without me."

Everyone around burst out laughing. They all thought William was nuts.

This ceremony was a big deal. Even the four great wizards were just side characters. And William thought it couldn't go on without him? Who did he think he was?

"Mr. Watson, is this your guy?"

"Don't say that, it's not just funny, it's offensive!"

"This is killing me!"

People started pointing at Eugene.

Jasmine felt super embarrassed.

Eugene's face was sour, and his opinion of William tanked.

Someone shouted, "The ceremony's about to start! Let's get moving!"

Jasmine glared at William and said, "Fine, let's see how you get in without an invite. If you do, I'll marry you. No joke!"

She needed to shut down William's bragging today. William shrugged. "Alright. Where's the VIP entrance?"

Bradley had told William to use the special entrance where the four great wizards would greet him.

Jasmine snapped, "Can you stop with the BS? VIP entrance? What makes you think you're qualified? That's for the four great wizards only!"

She added, "You can't even get in through the regular entrance, let alone the VIP one!"

Eugene couldn't take it anymore and became furious. He forcefully escorted William to the manor entrance, where security personnel were checking invitations and conducting facial recognition scans.

He asked directly, "Can we get in without an invite?"

The staff looked stunned. "Mr. Watson, are you kidding? How could such a high-level event not need an invite?"

Eugene pulled William forward. "Do you recognize him? He says he can get in without an invite."

The staff all looked at William.

After a good look, they all shook their heads. "Nope, don't know him."

"And we haven't heard about any special guest."

Laughter erupted around them.

Jasmine was about to explode with anger.

Eugene was furious. "I have a good rep in Starlight City! You're trashing our family's name! Aren't you supposed to get in? Show me how."

William sighed, "I told you, I should use the VIP entrance."

Eugene yelled, "Stop with the BS!"

"You can't even get in through the regular entrance, and you want the VIP one?"

From both logic and the current facts, no one believed William.

If William was such a big shot, why couldn't he even get in through the regular entrance, let alone the VIP one?

Fiona couldn't take it. "William, it's fine, just go home! This is over!"

William nodded. "Alright!"

He pulled out his phone and dialed. "I'm pissed, cancel the ceremony!"

Hearing William's words, Jasmine and the others grew even angrier as they inwardly mocked, 'This is totally childish, willful, and unreasonable! Who does William think he is? Does he believe that with just one call, the entire ceremony can be canceled?'

"Alright, ignore him. Let's go in." Eugene got their invites checked.

Soon, the three of them entered the manor.

But then, chaos erupted inside the manor.

Eugene grabbed a staff member and asked, "What the heck happened? What's going on?"

The staff member replied, "We just got word, the ceremony's canceled! The VIP is pissed!"

Hearing this, Jasmine was stunned, like she'd been hit by a truck.

Everyone's jaws dropped. Their eyes were about to pop out of their heads.

Could William really be the VIP personally greeted by the four great wizards?

Everything William said was true! With his one call, and the ceremony was really canceled!

Jasmine's mind went blank, and she was in a daze.

But then, exclamations erupted around them.

"The four great wizards are here..." Someone shouted, and everyone rushed over.

People came to the ceremony not just to boost their rep but also to catch a glimpse of the four great wizards.

"Randal?" Jasmine and the others reacted.

Not far away, Randal and the other three were walking quickly.

Jasmine caught a glimpse of her hero. She was so excited she almost jumped up.

Jasmine asked, "Who is that person?" She saw the four great wizards surrounding someone.

Randal and the other three were frantically apologizing and explaining to Bradley.

Eugene asked, puzzled, "Is that the VIP?"

Jasmine said confidently, "The four great wizards are surrounding him and apologizing so humbly. He must be the VIP."

Even though that person was far away, they could still see Bradley's general appearance. He was clearly a foreigner. That meant this had nothing to do with William. William's call was just a coincidence. They all sighed in relief.

Jasmine's dislike for William deepened. "How could William be a big shot! He's just full of crap!"

The ceremony was canceled. Everyone had to leave.

Back home, seeing William, Jasmine was furious.

She asked, "Mom, are you really letting him stay in our house?"

Fiona said, "Of course, William is my godson. It's perfectly reasonable for him to stay in our house."

Fiona added, "Not only that, but I'll also be responsible for William from now on."

Jasmine was about to faint. But to her surprise, her grandparents also knew about this.

They immediately held a family meeting to stop William from entering the Watson family.

At The Watson Mansion, there was a spacious table capable of accommodating twenty guests.

Eugene's father, Craig Watson, sat at the head, exuding authority.

"I heard he's the son of Fiona's good friend, with no background or status."

"Now he's come to find Fiona. His intentions are too obvious."

"The key is, I heard Fiona wants Jasmine to marry him."

"How can an outsider with no skills or status enter our Watson family?"

Listening to everyone's chaotic arguments, Craig shouted, "Everyone, be quiet!"

He continued, "Jasmine is the most outstanding person in our family's younger generation! She will most likely get hired by Rose Corporation tomorrow. William wants to marry her? It's not that easy!"

Not long after, William followed the three to the Watson Mansion.

Everyone looked at William.

"He looks good! But other than that, nothing!"

"What's the use of looking good? In our upper-class circle, looks are the cheapest thing."

"Yeah! We need both background and skills!"

"Hurry, take a seat!" Jasmine's cousin, Frank Watson, enthusiastically arranged seats for Eugene and the other two, pulling out chairs for them.

William followed, but there was only one empty seat left, and Frank sat down in it.

Now there wasn't a single seat left. The only empty seat had a dog lying on it. Even a dog could sit, but William couldn't.
