Chapter 44 It's the Ancient Remedy I Gave You

As soon as William dropped that bomb, everyone's jaws hit the floor. How the heck could this be Eugene's fault?

It was all 'cause Timothy got his hands on that ancient prescription, something nobody could control.

Eugene had nothing to do with it. Seriously, how could this be on Eugene?

Eugene was first like, "What the...?" then he got super pissed. "Blame me? Oh, really? Spill it, what's your reason!"

Everyone was dying to know why.

William asked, "Do you even know how Timothy got that ancient prescription?"

Eugene snapped back, "By accident, duh. How else would he get it?"

William shook his head. "Nah, Timothy found the ancient prescription."

Eugene was confused. "What? Found it? Where did he find it?"

Everyone was all ears.

William looked at Eugene and smirked, "The ancient prescription is the one I gave you. After you tossed it, Timothy picked it up."

Eugene was floored. "What?"

As soon as he said that, Craig and the others stared at Eugene like, "Is this for real?"

Eugene shot back, "No way. You're full of it. That piece of junk you gave me, yeah, I threw it away. But there's no way that was Alfred's ancient prescription."

Jasmine sneered, "William, you're really good at spinning tales. If you had such a valuable prescription, would you still be crashing at my place? Would you give it to my dad? No way!"

Craig and the others were fuming. "A nobody like you having a billion-dollar prescription? Get real!"

"Your story's too wild! You saw Eugene toss the junk you gave him, so now you're making this up, right? Eugene can't prove it, so you can say whatever you want."

Fiona also thought William's story was nuts.

Even if Xavier had that ancient prescription, he wouldn't just hand it over. They wouldn't even have time to use it themselves.

Eugene suddenly shouted, "There's a way to prove it."

Everyone turned to look.

Eugene said, "Fiona, where's that ointment William gave you? Bring it here."

Fiona quickly fetched the ointment.

Holding the box, Eugene asked, "This is the Regenesis Ointment you were talking about, right?"

William nodded. "Yep."

Eugene pulled out another box and said, "This is Hayes Pharmaceutical's Regenesis Ointment. Let's compare the two."

Jasmine nodded in agreement.

Upon opening both boxes of ointment, a gasp escaped someone's lips as they noticed the products were completely different.

The ointment William gave Fiona was a black, gooey mess, while Hayes Pharmaceutical's was crystal clear and transparent.

Plus, Hayes Pharmaceutical's ointment smelled all nice and medicinal, while William's ointment reeked like a dumpster.

Even someone who knew nothing about medicine could see these two ointments were worlds apart.

Hayes Pharmaceutical's ointment looked and smelled legit, while William's looked like it came from a trash heap.

Eugene sneered, "Do I even need to say anything? It's obvious."

Jasmine crossed her arms. "How do you explain this?"

Fiona looked super embarrassed.

William was caught red-handed again.

Craig kept grilling him, "What kind of garbage is this? Don't even compare it to Hayes Pharmaceutical's Regenesis Ointment. You're just trying to make Eugene feel bad, right? To make him think it's his fault. What's in it for you?"
