Chapter 45 The Man Jasmine Hates the Most

"These are both Regenesis Ointment, but the ingredients are totally different," William said. "The one I gave Fiona has the top-notch stuff, straight from the ancient recipe. Hayes Pharmaceutical? They use the cheap knock-offs. The effects aren't even close."

Nobody bought it, not even Fiona.

Hayes Pharmaceutical's version had been tested and approved by all the experts. But William? He was just talking out of his ass. No one was gonna believe that.

"Mom, just toss his ointment!" Jasmine grabbed it, ready to chuck it.

But Fiona, not wanting to hurt William's feelings, snatched it back. "It's okay, William, I believe you. I use it every day."

Considering that the ointment hadn't caused any harm thus far, she thought, 'why not keep William content?'

As long as Fiona kept using it, William didn't care about anything else. Whatever, it wasn't his problem anyway.

Eugene shot daggers at William. "I shouldn't have trashed that paper. I should've opened it, seen what was inside, and then slapped it in your face. Then you wouldn't be lying and blaming me now."

He was already pissed, and William's nonsense just made it worse.

"Is Mr. Eugene Watson angry?" A snarky voice came from the doorway. Jason strutted in with a few people.

In just half a day, Jason's company had given Mansion Pharmaceutical Company a ton of grief. Jason was here to rub it in. For ages, Jason and his family had been living in Eugene's shadow, always second best. Jason had even tried to date Jasmine, but she shot him down hard. Now that the Watson family was on the ropes, Jason finally had his moment to gloat.

"What do you want, Jason?" Jasmine asked coldly.

William was her current least favorite person, but Jason had held that title before. Jason was a notorious playboy, known for screwing over a lot of young women.

"Just here to see Mr. Eugene Watson and, oh yeah, talk about our marriage." Jason's eyes roamed over Jasmine.

Jasmine was fuming. "Our marriage? Keep dreaming. I wouldn't marry you if you were the last guy on Earth." She glanced at William. She wouldn't marry him either.

Jason sneered, "That was impossible before, but now? The Watson family is about to go under. If my family doesn't back off, you guys won't last in Starlight City."

A nasty look crossed Jason's face as he turned to Eugene. "Mr. Eugene Watson, what do you say? We don't have to be enemies. We could totally team up. Marry Jasmine to me, and we'll be family. Who cares who's the top pharmaceutical tycoon then?"

Jasmine was livid. "You're shameless!"

The Watson family members were fuming too.

In the past, Jason wouldn't have dared to talk to them like this. But now, they had no choice but to swallow their pride.

Eugene looked at Jason and asked, "I got a question for you."

Jason said, "Shoot, Mr. Eugene Watson."

"How'd your family get the ancient recipe? I heard you stumbled upon it?" Eugene asked.

"What?" Jason's face went pale. He couldn't meet Eugene's eyes.

Jason pondered, "How does Eugene know we stumbled upon the ancient recipe by chance? Is Eugene somehow involved?" As he contemplated these questions, beads of sweat started to form on his brow, capturing everyone's attention.
