Chapter 46 I Only Care About Fiona

Jason, who'd been around the block with Timothy, chilled out real quick. This was something Jason would never fess up to.

He smirked, "Mr. Eugene Watson, what a joke! Seriously, you think some top-tier ancient recipe just fell into your lap?"

Eugene wasn't buying it. No one there was buying it.

But Eugene just wanted to call out William's BS and make him squirm.

Jason spun a tale on the spot. "Honestly, my dad bought this at a crazy high price from some big shot in Sunview City."

Given that Sunview City was home to a number of traditional medical families, it wasn't surprising that they possessed such ancient recipes.

Eugene shot a look at William. "You hear that? They bought it."

Jasmine snapped, "William, you're such a liar."

Unconcerned with the Watson family drama, Jason shifted his focus to Eugene and remarked, "Mr. Eugene Watson, you are well aware of your family's predicament and the challenges ahead. You know my dad, he'll definitely make things tough for you."

Eugene and Timothy were sworn enemies. Given the chance, Timothy would totally crush Eugene.

Jason grinned, "But, I'm giving you a way out."

Everyone in the Watson family perked up.

Jason went on, "First: Your Watson family teams up with my Hayes family and hands over the ancient Scar Removal Cream recipe; second: Marry Jasmine to me. That way, we become family, and your Watson family crisis? Poof, gone."

As soon as Jason dropped that bomb, the Watson family went dead silent.

Especially Jasmine, who went pale as a ghost.

She yelled, "Marry you? Not a chance!"

"No need to decide now. This is just the beginning. In a few days, you'll see how bad things get. Then you'll come to me." Jason left, laughing his head off.

Eugene hung his head, looking totally defeated. The big-shot pharma tycoon vibe? Gone.

Craig asked, "Eugene, it can't be that bad, right? I mean, maybe you'll lose your top spot, but we won't be totally screwed, right?"

Eugene sighed, "You don't get it. Timothy's been gunning for me for like twenty or thirty years. We know each other too well. Given this chance, he'll push me to the edge. It's worse than we thought."

Craig asked, "Is there really no other way?"

Eugene shook his head. "Not right now."

The Watson family finally got how deep in trouble they were.

Suddenly, William's voice cut through. "Fiona, just say the word, and I can fix the Watson family's mess."

Everyone turned to look.

Fiona quickly said, "William, I know you mean well, but you don't need to get involved."

Jasmine was shaking with anger. "William, don't make things worse, okay? Do you think our Watson family isn't messed up enough? You can fix it? With what?"

William gave them a look. "Honestly, the Watson family's fate doesn't matter to me. I only care about Fiona. Fiona cares about you, so I'm stepping in."

Jasmine and Eugene were both fuming.

Seeing that William was about to get the boot again, Fiona quickly dragged him back to the bedroom.

That night felt endless and brutal.

Eugene didn't catch a wink of sleep.

In the middle of the night, bad news kept rolling in.

"Mr. Watson, bad news. Six of our eight major distributors have already cut ties with us."

"Mr. Watson, seventeen of our medicinal herb suppliers have terminated their contracts."
