Chapter 47 The Watson Family's Crisis

"Mr. Watson, over 500 pharmacies in Starlight City have already yanked our stuff off their shelves."

"Mr. Watson, we got a mountain of products just sitting in the warehouse, can't move 'em."

"Mr. Watson, we've had $250 million worth of orders boomerang back."

But man, that was just the tip of the iceberg. The real storm was still brewing.

Sure enough, the next day, Eugene walked into the office, and bam, news hit that the stock market tanked again.

Mansion Pharmaceutical Company just took a massive hit, bleeding out a few hundred million more. It was a gut-wrenching blow for the company.

It hadn't even been a full day and night. Losing that much dough that fast? Brutal.

Meanwhile, Hayes Pharmaceutical was raking in over $700 million in net profit in just one day.

Regenesis Ointment was the talk of Eldoria.

Pharma big shots from everywhere were lining up to team up with Hayes Pharmaceutical.

That was the power of an old-school formula.

A new pharma kingpin, Timothy, had popped up in Starlight City.

Slumped in his chair, Eugene resembled a zombie, having aged 20 years overnight. The relentless barrage of bad news left him numb, as it continued to pour in.

Eugene's assistant Darryl came sprinting in again. "Mr. Watson, we got a cash flow crisis. We're $84 million short."

Who knew how many times Darryl had already run in by now.

Eugene said, "Tap into our reserve funds at Starlight Bank. Patch the hole first."

Darryl quickly brought in a call. "Mr. Watson, it's the head of Starlight Bank."

The head of Starlight Bank said, "Eugene, sorry man. We reassessed Mansion Pharmaceutical Company, and the risk is too high. We're freezing your reserve funds. You'll need to find another way."

Eugene held the phone, eyes blank and lifeless.

Darryl said, "Mr. Watson, all four major banks in Eldoria have called. I'll patch them through one by one."

Every bank that had been working with Mansion Pharmaceutical Company, after checking the risk, had bailed.

The funds were totally cut off. Eugene couldn't get a loan anywhere.

Darryl called out, "Mr. Watson, it's worse. All drugs similar to Hayes Pharmaceutical's Regenesis Ointment have been pulled and even complained about."

"Plus, several of our big overseas clients have ditched us and are now talking to Hayes Pharmaceutical."

Eugene's assistants had tears welling in their eyes, but Eugene remained silent.

This mess was just the fallout from Regenesis Ointment.

The real nightmare was Timothy's targeted moves against him.

Darryl stated, "Bad news. Hayes Pharmaceutical is eating our market share. Timothy's making his move."

Eugene showed no signs of shock; instead, he exuded a sense of helplessness.

Darryl came running again. "Mr. Watson, all the board members are waiting for you in the conference room. They're pissed. They're super disappointed you're not doing anything."

Closing his eyes slowly, Eugene rose to his feet."Let's go to the conference room."

As soon as he walked in, board member Edward Harris grilled him, "Mr. Watson, has Mansion Pharmaceutical Company really hit rock bottom? And you got no plan?"

Other board members jumped in, "Yeah, Mr. Watson, do something. Mansion Pharmaceutical Company can't go under."

Eugene sneered, "You think there's a magic fix right now?"

Edward raised his hand. "I got an idea..."

Eugene asked, "What is it?"

Everyone turned to look.

Edward said, "I think we should negotiate with Hayes Pharmaceutical. If we offer the formula for Mansion Pharmaceutical Company's Scar Removal Cream and give up some market share, Hayes Pharmaceutical might bite."

The room was stunned.
