Chapter 48 Eugene, Do You Want to Rise?

A bunch of board members jumped on Edward's bandwagon right away. "Yeah, this plan sounds solid. It could totally save Mansion Pharmaceutical."

"There's no better option out there."

Eugene chuckled to himself. He saw this coming from a mile away. In a crisis, there were always backstabbers. Edward was one of 'em.

Edward was just saying what Timothy wanted to hear. By doing this, Timothy would let the Watson family off the hook.

But most folks were still against it. "No way. We can't just make peace with Hayes Pharmaceutical."

The room was a mess of arguments. "So, what do you think we should do then?"

Eugene smirked, "Timothy's after my Scar Removal Cream formula."

Eugene had made it big in the pharma world thanks to that cream. Years ago, Fiona had snagged two ancient formulas—one for the Scar Removal Cream and another for the Sedative Pill. They agreed to split 'em up. Eugene took the cream, and Fiona took the pill.

The Scar Removal Cream formula was pretty much complete, so Mansion Pharmaceutical shot to the top. The Sedative Pill formula was a mess, so Fiona's Fisher Pharmaceutical lagged a bit but still made it to the top five in Starlight City.

Eugene said, "Alright, meeting's over."

After Eugene left, Edward, looking all shady, went to a corner and made a call. "Mr. Hayes, Eugene's still on the fence about handing over the Scar Removal Cream formula. He's hesitating."

A cold voice replied, "Good. I'll make him hand it over willingly."

Hayes Pharmaceutical went nuts attacking Mansion Pharmaceutical. They gobbled up their market share, stole their suppliers, distributors, and partners, and yanked Mansion's products from pharmacies and hospitals.

Then, quality issues with Mansion's products started popping up everywhere, with some even getting reported by real people. The medical department suspended Mansion's products and sent an inspection team to Hayes Pharmaceutical.

This was Timothy's real game plan. He wanted to crush Mansion Pharmaceutical in one go.

Eugene came home looking like a zombie. Fiona quickly inquired about the condition.

Eugene sighed, "Hayes Pharmaceutical is too ruthless; we can't hold up."

Fiona suggested, "Eugene, how about I throw in the whole $7 billion investment? We've got the ancient formulas for the Scar Removal Cream and the Sedative Pill. If our companies team up, we can still take on Hayes Pharmaceutical."

Fiona was dead set on not bowing to the Hayes family.

Eugene looked at her and said, "Your money might buy us some time, but it won't fix the problem. We'll still end up the same."

Fiona was shocked. "Is it that bad?"

Eugene said, "The ancient formula for the Regenesis Ointment is worth at least $100 billion. The worst is yet to come."

Everyone felt like they hit rock bottom. Jasmine bit her lip, looking super worried.

Eugene sighed, "Unless I get an even more powerful ancient formula, we're out of options."

But everyone knew ancient formulas were hard to come by. Eugene had been hunting for them for thirty years and hadn't found a single one.

William asked, "Eugene, do you want to rise again?" He hated seeing Fiona so stressed.

Eugene didn't even look at him. "Don't bother me."

William said, "Hayes Pharmaceutical is using cheap materials to replace the original ones. But I can use even cheaper materials and make a better product. I can even perfect your Scar Removal Cream and Sedative Pill formulas. With those, Mansion Pharmaceutical can bounce back easily."
