Chapter 1
MOON CRESCENT PACK
PRESENT.
At the hidden place where the remaining ones of the Moon pack were hiding from their enemies who wouldn't think twice before slaughtering each one of them.
Some have lost almost all their families and loved ones while some kids witnessed their parents being brutally killed.
Nadine could see the fear in each and everyone's faces, some were even trembling in fear which was quite understandable by her as she too wasn't different from them.
Nadine had witnessed how the enemies slaughtered her father and mother with her only niece brutally but what can she do? She has to be strong and keep to her parents' only wish.
"The enemies are getting near us!" One of the omega said in fear as everyone instantly stood up on their feet watching for their dear life.
" Are you not going to do anything?"
"How could your father, the alpha of our pack, have a useless good-for-nothing as his daughter?"
"Shouldn't you try to keep to your father's wish by trying to save us instead of saving your dear life?"
Nadine could hear the heavy words that had been thrown at her even though she felt intimidated by those words she could only turn around to face them.
"Hey, watch your tongue!"
" Are you all speaking down on our young miss!" Basil yelled but her words were turned deaf ears too.
" You all have no conscience at all, the alpha and his Luna died for the whole pack leaving their only daughter to us but still you all still want her to die for you all?" Basil asked as she glared at each and everyone avoiding her eye contact.
"But for what?!" She asked slowly.
"Enough, Basil!" Nadine uttered, cutting her off from saying another word.
She has always been hated by almost everyone in her pack except Basil who had always been at her side right from when she was a kid.
" Just because you all think I'm different from you all, isn't that the reason why you all hate me and want me to die for you all?" She said with a throbbing heart.
After her 18th birthday, everyone in the pack and even her parents were disappointed that she never turned or recovered her actual form which was why everyone started hating and throwing shades at her for being a mere human even though her parents were both werewolves.
Some even started carrying strange rumors about Luna having an affair with a human which led them into having a human child.
"You all can leave. I'll try to lure the enemies away and prove to you that I have my parents' blood running through my veins!" Nadine said with gritted teeth.
"No, you can't miss that!"
"No miss, even if nobody believes you, I do believe you!" Basil yelled as she teared up instantly.
" You all should tell her you believe her, tell her you'll stick together with her!" Basil yelled as she looked at everyone.
She was surprised to see them avoiding her eyes and could see how adamant they were.
" You all really want our alpha and Luna's only daughter dead?!" She asked in a disappointed tone.
"Guards, take her along!"Nadine said with a broken heart which was hidden behind the smile expression on her face.
"No Miss, we leave this place together!" Basil screamed out but all her screams were in vain as she was roughly dragged away while trying to reach her hand to Nadine but it was impossible.
Immediately everyone was gone, Nadine gently picked a stone which wasn't too big nor small, it was an average size, and threw it in the direction where the enemies were searching before she began running heavily with her long silky smooth hair flying behind her back.
Inside a big luxurious mansion that was exquisite and well furnished, it could be described as a grand palace with majestic architecture and intricate detailing.
Even though everything was sparkling and beautifully built, one could sense something about the mansion even from the design and structure but only a sensitive person could be able to see through the mansion and not an ordinary person.
The sound of voices was echoing from a shabby room that one wouldn't expect a place could be found inside a luxurious mansion.
"Elder Jones, look up and tell me your thoughts about the ladies in your front!" Said in a cold voice which sent shivers down everyone's spine inside the room.
An old man could be seen seated on the floor inside the shabby room with his gray hair fully covering his face as it had been 200 years since he had last seen or set his eyes on the sun or moon, talkless of feeling it.
Another one was standing at the window side putting an all-black from head to toe which wasn't strange to the people around him as that was how he had been putting them on, he couldn't take his eyes away from the full moon in the sky as he felt something strange about it.
The old man with gray hair and trembling hand used his old hand to arrange the hair that was obstructing his view and almost immediately he did. His eyes caught seven different maidens which were in front of him with their hands tied and their mouths covered.
"They're all empty!" Elder Jones said before bursting into rounds of laughter as if he was enjoying what was going on.
"And why do you find it funny?" The cold voice asked as he turned around and instantly his gold-endangering gaze landed on the old man which immediately got him choked up.
"Seems like you'll lose her tonight again!" The old man said despite how he had been choked up.
Almost immediately the cold man with a burning gaze suddenly became so eager that he had to March toward Elder Jones in curiosity and eagerness.
"Seems like you want her, doesn't it?" Elder Jones asked with a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.
Almost immediately, an image of a beautiful lady running for her dear life could be seen on the wall which instantly made a particular person drop in total shock.
" Annie… Annie!" He stuttered before staggering backward.
" What is she doing there? Is she my Annie?"
" How could she have Annie's face?"
" Is she reborn? Tell me!" He yelled.
" You asked too many questions at a time which I'm afraid if I reply to you you'll lose her as her life is in danger!" Elder Jones said and wiped the image off the wall.
"Annie … Annie!" He mumbled inwardly before looking directly into the old man's eyes and could see the smirk plastered on his face but he had no time to think about anything else except Annie.
Almost immediately he vanished instantly.
