Chapter 6

Donna sat on her bed lost in thought about the events that had occurred previously. She knew what she saw and she knew exactly who tried to kill her.

"No one would believe you if you tell them it's me, Donna, give it up." A voice whispered to her.

"Get out of my head." She said angrily.

A maid entered to rearrange the beddings for Donna only to see her sitting on the bed muttering to herself.

"You should probably just die or get back to New Ford quickly because he doesn't like you and he said he never will and let me add he said this in front of the servants. I wonder what they think of you when they say I'm their head when they look at you."

"No one looks at me anyhow." Donna replied subconsciously to "Lilith".

"They all do Donna and you know it the little giggles at the side, the sneers they pull as they take in you and your all round stupidity."

"Y-you're lying…" Donna stuttered.

"You're just a good-for-nothing spoiled brat. Even the man you want doesn't want you. He left you for me and you can't do anything about it. You're pathetic."

"Stop…"

"Or what if you kill me? You'll make my life a living hell?" "Lilith laughed.

"There is one way this could end."

Donna turned to look at Lilith.

"If you kill me and have my blood on your hands you will finally have the man you've always wanted and I won't bother you anymore."

"Y-"

"Maybe finally you'll do something for yourself for the first time in your life! You little pathetic thing!"

"Stop!" Donna screamed.

"My lady!" Someone shouted.

Donna opened her eyes looking around.

"Where's she?"Donna asked.

"Where's who, my lady?" The maid said.

"Lilith God damnit!" She shouted.

"My lady there's been no one in this room except me and you. I entered to rearrange the beddings and I saw you sitting in a daze and muttering words I could not understand." The maid explained gently.

"No…" She murmured

"Are you okay my lady?" The maid asked.

"No, she was here!"

"Perhaps my lady, maybe you need some sleep. Stress from a near-death could cause behaviors like this."

"You stupid brat! Are you suggesting I am mad?"

"I apologize to my lady."

"Get out of my sight."

"But-"

"Right this moment. Out!"

The maid left as Dona looked around exasperatedly.

"I am not mad. I am not mad." Donna repeated to herself over and over again.

"I just need to kill her and all will be well. All this would end as soon as she isn't breathing." Donna said to herself, sighing calmly.

"Maids!" She said happily ringing the bell at her side.

Three maids entered inside bowing slightly.

"Prepare my bathwater immediately and bring out some dresses for me to check."

After she had finished her bath.

"You come to tighten my corset. I want to be snatched."

"Yes, my lady."

"Today's a special day. I have a murder to plan." Donna thought to herself, smiling at her reflection in the mirror.

"Oi mate the captain says you should lift the bottom sail," Benedict shouts from the upper deck slowly walking to where he was.

"What are you doing here lost in thought?"

"Nothing mate."

Beth passed them holding a basket of bread and some rum.

"Good day, gentlemen. I trust the weather's treating you well?"

"Well hello, beautiful lady," Benedict said.

"Hello, I brought you some treats from the kitchen."

"The ship's treating you I suppose? Your skin's shining as bright as an emerald." He grinned at her his yellowed teeth showing.

"Oh, you flatter me too much." Her cheeks are a twinge of red.

"I'm only telling the truth, my lady." He smiled.

"What treats are in the basket, my fair lady?"

"It's just some bread and some rum that's all. Just for a quick quick snack."

They all laugh.

"Thank you, Miss Lilith. We do appreciate your kindness." Oliver said.

"It's not a problem. You're welcome."

"May I please where Beth is? I haven't seen her all day and I'm just a bit curious about her and her whereabouts." His ears turned a deep shade of red.

"Oh my oh my." Lilith teased.

"She's got wrapped all 'round her lip finger. You're finished, mate." Benedict laughed.

"She's doing fine now. Excellent, I must say. She's the one who baked the bread and asked for me to send it to you." Lilith said.

"She sends all of her love." She continued.

"Oh gully, that's so sweet of her," Oliver said.

At this moment footsteps sound and they all turn to see who it is.

"Lilith, are you there? You're wasting a bit more time so I came to check on you." Beth said.

"I'm right here Beth," Lilith shouted.

"Oh, there you are." Beth's aid turned in their direction.

"Hello, sweet Beth," Benedict said.

"Why hello Benedict looking smashing as usual." Beth beamed at him.

"With those old rags don't flatter me off my feet."

"Hello, Oliver," Beth said softly.

"H-helli Beth." He stammered the tips of his ears turning red.

"Um, I think I have some chores to do in the kitchen," Lilith said walking away from the love birds.

"Wait for me Lilith, I think the captain is calling me."

They walked away leaving the two to be alone.

An awkward silence followed.

"You look nice today." He said.

Beth's cheeks turned red "Thank you Oliver you're so sweet."

"Thank you for the bread and the rum." He said.

"Anything that makes you happy."

The duo smiled as they looked around in shyness.

Beth walked closer to him as they smiled awkwardly at each other. She sat down right next to him and their shoulders were touching.

"I-" Oliver began.

"Sh sh, it's fine you don't need to say anything."

Oliver turned towards Beth looking into her eyes. They inched closer to each other as Beth's hand reached to grasp his neck and he went to grab her lower back.

The sexual tension in the hair could be felt by anyone.

"What's going on here?" Someone said,

The two hurriedly separated awkwardly.

"Good day, Captain." They said in unison.

"I remember saying all crew members engaging in any funny times especially during day times and in public places should stop."

"We apologize, sir."

"Try not to be in plain sight okay?" Kent said, smirking.

The duo's ears turned red.

"Will do, Sir."
