SIX!

LIAM

I opened my eyes to feel a large banging headache and two huge men standing in front of me.

I could tell they have been here for a while and since they haven't attacked me yet that means they know I am.

“I can't believe how fast you landed,” I groaned at the familiar smug voice of my first beta and best friend, Mason.

“I thought he was going to make a comeback,” I heard another smug voice of my second beta and friend, Ethan.

As the heir to the Highest Alpha King crown, I am to have two Beta. It's a tradition that has been passed through generations. My father has his beta's as well who are the fathers of Mason and Ethan.

“I didn't realize she was there,” I said to them and that earned me a mocking laughter.

“I guess,” Ethan said, “you were trying to get into the panties of the other one,” Ethan is the sharp tooth of us all but that's all a cover for how sneaky he could be which makes him one of the best spies I have met.

“That shouldn't have happened, Liam,” Mason said in his baritone voice. He is more cool headed and intelligent. He has more brains than Ethan.

“What shouldn't have happened, Mason?” I asked him with authority.

“You should have let her go after rejecting her, not reconnected the mate bond,” he said, sounding pissed.

I gave out a low growl and he bowed his head immediately. We might be friends but a beta knows its place in front of an alpha.

“I'm sorry but your father, the king, gave you an order and you know better than to defile his order,” he said, intelligently and I know he is right, “mate bond comes and go, Liam. You would have a second chance mate,’’

He might be right but not about the mate bond. This is stronger than I have ever known and I feel strong emotions to Brianna that I have never felt for anyone.

“You are wrong,” I said to him as we left the bushes into the clear road.

“Wrong about what?” He asked, I turned to look at him.

“About the mate bond. It's stronger than I have ever felt,” I said, holding my chest.

“What do you mean?” Ethan asked.

“I don't know, I can't explain it,” I stuttered.

Ethan snickered while Mason eyebrow waggle.

“But there must be a reason your father asked you to reject her as your mate,” Mason said and I found some truths to his words.

“Let's find out then,” I said, getting into the car.

There was a bit of silence in the car as we drove straight to the kingdom.

“So what will be in your report?” I asked them. They might be my betas but they also have a duty to the kingdom which is my father.

“Nothing,” Mason said before Ethan could speak.

“So how do you intend to find out why your father told you to reject…” Ethan said, not knowing what to call my mate.

“Brianna,” I said to him. I saw how Mason's fingers tighten around the steering wheel.

I tapped on his shoulder, “it will be alright, Mason,”

He got to the gate, he bit his fingers and the blood dropped to the floor bringing out a bio scanner. He placed his wolf hands and the charade dropped and the real gate opened. This is to keep the humans away from the werewolf world.

I sighted some familiar guards at the gate and they all saluted, apart from one. He will have his punishment later.

Adrian has succeeded in pulling some of the King guards to his side. The ones who are loyal to him by any means necessary.

I only hope he will not get in the way of my succession. It's my right to be King and he won't take that away from me.

We drove to the palace and I saw some unfamiliar cars packed in the garage.

“Does my father have visitors over?” I asked my beta's and they shared a suspicious glance.

“What's going on?” I asked them, wanting answers immediately.

“I'm sorry, Liam. If we had told you earlier you wouldn't have followed us back,” Ethan said.

“What does that mean?” I asked, I could sense my wolf trying to overtake me. “Easy,’’ I said, to it.

“Your father has brought someone to be your mate,” Mason said, “she is from a very prominent family,” he said.

I felt a muscle in my jaw twist and a frown on my face.

My fangs came out and my eyes turned blood red, Mason and Ethan backed away. They know not to come close to me when I am in this state.

“How could you?” I asked them, my voice was different and deeper.

“We had orders,” Mason said, getting into a defensive position.

“Your orders come from me!” I yelled and the buildings around us vibrated.

“Not always!” I heard an even different and more powerful voice and I got out of my trance.

“Father,” I said and we all bowed down.

“I hope you have rejected that girl?” He asked and I looked at my beta's.

“Yes father,” I lied.

He walked into the palace and his guards followed right behind him and we did the same.

We got into the throne room and Ethan's and Mason's Fathers stood beside the throne as my father took his seat on it.

I looked to my right to see a woman and Mikeal, the alpha of a prominent family but also ambitious. To my left was Adrian with his personal guards.

“Father,” I greeted him again.

“Liam, this is Margret, who you will marry in one week,” he said.

“One week!” I yelled, moving towards the throne but his guards blocked me.

“Be mindful of yourself boy!” He said in anger, “show some respect to your betrothed,”

He said and I turned to Margret who smiled at him. I know Margaret, she has once tried to get to her bed in order for me to claim her as my mate.

“But father,” I turned to him but he cut me off.

“But nothing, Liam. This is my order and you will follow it,” he stood up and went into his inner room with his beta's who stared at their sons.

Adrian walked towards me and placed his hands on my shoulder, “good luck brother and I hope you screw this one up,” he said, smirking and walked away.

“Haha,” Ethan snickered behind him and he cast a glare at him, with Ethan not backing down.

I watched as he spoke with Margaret and her father, I turned and walked out of the throne room.

“Where are you going?” Mason asked.

“Hitting the gym,” I said without looking back.

I didn't realize how time had passed since I got to the gym. I took my towel and walked out towards my father's chamber.

I want to try and plead to his better self in order for me not to marry Margaret.

“You told me they all die!” I heard his voice roar in his room.

It was slightly open and the second highest priest was on his knees, pleading to my father.

“Forgive me, my highest king,” he pleaded.

My father released his fangs and slashed his throat.

The hell.
