I'm Not Her!

"Stop!"

I cried out in pain and touched my belly. My stepmother often beat me, but this pain was different. This creature has magical powers.

"My belly hurts."

The wolf-shaped creature stopped what it was doing when it heard my stomach hurt. He looked at his hand and then at my stomach. His rough hand stroked my stomach.

"How stupid of me. Servants! Call the palace doctor!"

He screamed wildly, shaking the magnificent building we were in. Me and the rest of the people there got goose bumps and felt scared, I didn't understand what kind of creature he was.

The servants ran to find the palace physician as ordered by King Alpha. I was too weak to figure it out.

The healers gave me potions that made me feel better. They were friendly and caring. I felt calmer with them than with that creepy figure who liked to scream.

"Now you must rest more. But it is a great blessing that the strength of King Alpha's offspring is so great that despite the difficult circumstances, the fatigue and the great shocks, the foetus in your womb is holding up well. We will always pray for the health of King Alpha's future baby," the healer said.

"True, the strength of King Alpha's offspring is beyond doubt. And... We have good news for you and King."

"What good news are you going to tell us?" said the man.

Hearing this, the figure of the creature called King Alpha immediately made a sound from where he stood. His large, dark, shadowy body took a few steps forward to listen to the healer's explanation.

"W-wasn't he here earlier?" I asked, my voice stuttering.

Before, in the shadows of the closed and dark place, I could clearly see that what was standing there was a huge wolf-like creature with red eyes, sharp nails and long teeth. But now the figure that emerged from that dark place was instead an extraordinary man.

"What do you mean?" the man asked. "Why are you strange today?"

The man turned to the healers. "After you explain the good news, check on this woman. I think she's upset."

I gave him an unhappy look. He was rude. How could I be so unlucky to suddenly get into a stupid scenario and end up meeting that weird guy? I thought that handsome man wasn't the scary wolf with a booming voice that was bothering me earlier, but it turned out that the wolf was just shapeshifting, so I cancelled.

"King Alpha will have two successors to the throne at once," the healers said.

"She's pregnant with twins?" the man said. "Boys or girls?"

The healers were scared as the man shook them and shouted. I don't understand why they were scared when he treated them like that. I was scared of him earlier. I got used to it and was no longer afraid when I heard his voice and saw his aura.

"Stop shouting at them. You look ridiculous," I said.

"How dare you." The man pointed at my face. "If it weren't for my future baby, I would have hurt you."

The man asked the healers again, "Are they both boys?"

They answered, "Yes, Your Majesty. You are blessed with luck and strength."

The man was silent for a moment, then took a deep breath. He swallowed and pondered. I couldn't understand what he was thinking, but he was clearly thinking.

"I order you to keep a close eye on this woman's health while she carries my children, she and my children must be healthy. I will not spare you if I hear that one of them is ill," the man said in a deep voice.

"W-well, sir. Her health is our priority and we will keep a close eye on it," one of the healers said.

"We are still investigating the whereabouts of the golden tulip flower that is said to strengthen your partner's heart, but we have heard rumours that it exists and that there is little left in the highlands of Cerberia," said one of the healers.

Listening to their conversation, I could only gape and stare, there was too much information for me to understand as an ordinary human. After being shocked by the fact that I was pregnant, then shocked again by the news that there were twins in my womb, I had heard the words 'medicine to strengthen my heart'. Was I ill? I remember myself as a woman in good health.

"Search for the flower, I will send strong pack members to accompany the healers who set out to get the flower. I don't want to know, this woman's heart must remain strong to give birth to my babies," the man said. "You may go."

"Yes, King Alpha. Please call us if Her Highness Mrs Sharron needs an examination." They said and left.

I furrowed my brow, there were many things I wanted to ask him, especially about who he was and what disease he was hiding in my body.

"Hey you."

The man flinched, he had just turned his back to me and was about to walk away, his body was still and there was no sign of him turning his head towards me.

"You should learn to be more polite to me. After these babies are born, you'll have no value in my eyes," the man said.

I got out of bed, my pyjamas flapping in the cold night breeze, I cursed the transparent fabric of the pyjamas, there was no difference between wearing them and being naked.

"Listen to me," I said as I pulled the man's clothes off. "I'm not the woman you're talking about, I don't care who she is. Get me out of here because I'm not one of you, and just so you know, I'm not carrying your baby."

Our faces were so close, just inches from his face, that I could see every curve of his handsome face.

"You want to run away from here?" The man snorted sarcastically. "Shall I remind you how I filled your womb with these babies?"
