Chapter 10 Introducing the Boyfriend

Hearing the name Caesar Hotel, everyone started buzzing.

"All the big shots are hitting up Caesar Hotel today. I heard they're all from fancy medical families."

"Is he one of them too?"

Adeline wasn't shocked; Ian's outfit screamed money, and his watch alone could buy a car.

"Next time you head out, stick close and don't wander off," Adeline said while sorting the medical kit. She wasn't about to get tangled up in this drama.

Out of nowhere, Ian latched onto her leg, making it impossible for Adeline to move.

She glanced down at Ian, and he looked up at her.

His big, watery eyes blinked at her, clutching her clothes like a lost puppy.

Adeline's annoyance melted away, and she ruffled Ian's smooth hair.

"Not letting go, huh? Wanna come home with me?" Seeing Ian about to nod, Adeline's face turned serious. Even though Ian was young, he was sharp and quickly changed his tune. "Can you take me home? My family will thank you properly and give you lots of money."

Adeline told him he didn't need to thank her or pay for the medical help. She just did it on a whim.

"Then," Ian suddenly asked, "do you have a boyfriend?"

Adeline shrugged, "Not right now."

Ian lit up, "Awesome, then I'll bring my third brother Charles Livingston to meet you. You'll totally like him. Let Charles thank you for me."

Seeing Adeline wasn't too interested, Ian started hyping up Charles as a handsome, rich, and super nice guy. Basically, a catch.

Adeline listened to Ian's pitch with a smile and said, "But there's a catch."

"What catch?" Ian asked, confused.

"I'm not looking to get hitched right now." Adeline laughed. The kid was young but had a lot on his mind.

Seeing Ian's disappointment, Adeline didn't comfort him, and they walked in silence for a bit.

Adeline thought Ian had dropped the whole boyfriend thing, but as soon as they got to the hotel entrance, he perked up, clenched his little fists, and said, "Charles is upstairs. Why don't you come up and see him? Seriously, Charles is super handsome."

Adeline chuckled at Ian's sales pitch and tapped his nose. "I haven't thought that far ahead. And, does Charles even know you're trying to set him up?"

Ian's face was all serious. "He's always sick. Our family wants him to find a wife soon. You're great at medicine and super pretty; there must be tons of guys who want to date you. I gotta look out for Charles."

Adeline didn't answer Ian directly. Instead, she took a bottle of water and a bag of soda crackers from her backpack and handed them to him. "Drink some water and eat something. Your voice sounds a bit hoarse."

He tried to open the bottle but couldn't. So he looked up at Adeline with a helpless, hopeful look. "I can't open it."

Kenneth Wilson spotted Ian from a distance and was puzzled why Ian was with the adopted daughter kicked out by the Martinez Family.

A hint of caution flashed in Kenneth's eyes, but he quickly played it cool.

He didn't reveal his identity and walked straight up, sounding a bit urgent. "Your family's been looking for you. It's such a relief you're okay."

Ian held Adeline's hand tight, his voice firm. "She saved me. I want to thank her properly."

His words carried a maturity beyond his years. Despite his small size, he had a strong presence.

Kenneth was a bit taken aback. He'd seen plenty of people trying to use such chances to climb the social ladder, but Adeline's attitude surprised him. He nodded politely to Adeline, "Ms. Vanderbilt, we won't forget your kindness."

Adeline didn't want to get too involved in these rich family squabbles and responded calmly, "I just did what anyone would. He's already thanked me."

Kenneth felt a bit puzzled but quickly adjusted and turned to Ian. "Mr. Livingston is really worried about you. He's waiting in the car and even forgot to take his medicine."

A look of surprise flashed in Ian's eyes. "He actually came in person?"
