Chapter 10 deleted-10

Ace warned himself that after this month, they wouldn't have anything to do with each other.

He didn't care about her at all.

Anna went to Ace's cottage every night to sleep with him and have sex. They wouldn't even speak.

Anna would always avoid Ace to communicate with the doctor. Ace always pretended he didn't notice, but a couple of times, he saw Vivian texting and then quickly deleting it.

If the text messages were normal, why was she deleting them?

Ace was too curious, so he checked her cell phone while she was asleep. But she'd turned it off and needed a password to turn it on. So he had to turn off her phone again.

Another thing he realized was that after Anna made love to him again, Ace didn't need any sleeping pills to fall asleep, no matter how stressed he was.

There were no dreams for the whole night.

Anna always woke up before him and never disturbed his sleep.

Ace wanted to get up earlier than Anna to see what she was doing when she got up. But every time he woke up, there was no one around.

He felt like he was going crazy. He always looked forward to the month ending soon, but whenever he thought that there were only a few days left in the month, he became anxious.

What if Anna ran out of money again later?

If she stopped gambling, she'd be fine. Gambling was an endless game. What if she lost all her money and had to sleep with someone else to pay off her debts?

Thinking about it made Ace lose sleep once again.

But luckily, He finally knew when Anna got up. She got up every morning before it was too light. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and got dressed. Then she'd walk over to him. Ace felt her approach. She would kiss him on his forehead and say, "Good morning."

Then she turned to leave.

Ace lay stiff and motionless on the bed.

This was how she left every morning, wasn't it?

His heart was strangled, stifled, and agonized.

On the last night of the month, Anna did not show up at Ace's cottage.

Ace was anxious. He wanted to call her but didn't want her to know how much he missed her.

It was nearly midnight, and Ace was about to call her when she showed up.

Anna was dressed casually today. She walked in slowly, wearing a pair of loafers.

She walked into the living room with a few bags in her arms and saw him sitting on the couch watching the news on his cell phone; she smiled and said, "Still awake? I bought some food; I'll make you some late-night snacks, okay?"

In a month, Anna had never offered to cook for him.

She pulled groceries out of a paper bag. She had bought a lot.

This wasn't a midnight snack. It was their last dinner.

It turned out she was counting down to her last day, too.

Ace said nothing and stood up to go upstairs, "I don't snack at night."

"That's okay, I'll make them. You can try some tomorrow. If you don't like them, you can throw them away."

Her voice was as light as ever, not even a hint of discomfort.

As she washed the vegetables, she murmured, "Scrambled eggs with celery leaves... I'm sure you've never had them before either, have you? I've heard about it from my cellmates, but I've never tasted it."

"Tomatoes are nice."

"We should eat more beef."

"I heard that from my cellmate. ......"

However, Ace didn't leave. He stood there as if by magic, watching Anna cook and put them on the table one after the other.

She wasn't a good cook, but he still ate a lot.

When they lay down on the bed, Anna didn't climb on top of him as she had done before but lay there quietly. Ace turned and looked at her from above. Then Anna said, "I'm a little sick today. You can't be too aggressive like before. Please be gentle."

She spoke as if she was protecting something.

Amazingly, he fell asleep after sex.

Ace didn't want to sleep. But after a whole month, Ace had gotten into the habit of sleeping with her in his arms.

Anna was careful when she got up.

She took a shower and got dressed in front of the mirror, with her palms resting on her stomach.

She was pregnant. She was finally pregnant, and Daisy could be saved this time.

From now on, they were done.

Anna walked over to Ace's bedside. This time, instead of kissing his forehead like before, she looked at his handsome face with tears in her eyes.

"Ace Robert, goodbye!"

--

As Ace jerked awake, he subconsciously touched the other side of his bed. It was empty.

He sat up and rolled out of bed. This month, all her toiletries had been kept here, and the maid had prepared her slippers.

All of those things had disappeared.

Even her toothbrush was gone.

It had been a month, and it was all over.

He thought that when the day came, his heart would not be in turmoil, and he would go to his office as usual. Yet as the days passed, he became more and more anxious.

At night he couldn't sleep, making him take sleeping pills again.

The money he gave her would sustain her for a while. Anna knew his generosity and would surely return to him when she ran out of money.

But after three whole months passed, Ana never called him ever again.

Ace sat in his office and looked at his assistant, "Did Anna contact you?"

"No."

"Have you heard anything from her?"

"I haven't heard either, Sir; you gave her enough money last time to buy a car and a house to live in. You needn't worry."

"She gambles. There needs to be more money. Why don't you go see if she's been gambling again lately or getting involved with someone else?"

Ace himself refused to admit that his greatest fear was that Anna had fallen in love with another man.

A woman like her, her beauty was already outstanding, not to mention her ability to work. How could it be that no man would want to spend money on her?

Half an hour later, his assistant walked into Ace's office, "Sir, three months ago, Miss Carl left the city. No one has heard from her since then."

Ace stood up.

Did she leave the city?

Like forever?

Cold sweat immediately covered his back, and he couldn't help but tremble. Fists clenched on the table, "Well, stop thinking about her. Dead or alive, she has nothing to do with me!"

Ace walked out of his office, feeling only so faint in his steps. He hadn't felt this way even that time he'd sent her to jail.

The car drove all the way to the prison. Ace got out and looked at the iron gates and high walls. For two years and seven months, this woman stayed inside to atone for her father's sins.

That was what her father owed him!

He didn't need to feel guilty!

Who the hell had fucked her in this prison. He had to find out and kill him!

However, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find the man who was with Anna. There were records that Anna had given birth to a baby girl in prison, and a c-section was performed, and the medical records from the c-section also showed a missing kidney.

He had his assistant dig deeper and finally learned that one of her kidneys had been transplanted when she was 23.

The recipient was...
