Chapter 11 Regrets-11
Ace Robert.
He couldn't help but shiver with the chart in his hand. His eyes turned red.
...
"Ace, let's make up. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you were sick. I shouldn't have fought with you, and I've had a terrible time. Listen, I had an appendicitis operation. Look, I'm not lying, I even got stitches!"
She'd lied to him about the scar on her abdomen being from an appendicitis operation, and Ace even remembered the innocent, resigned look on Anna's face when she'd said it!
It wasn't appendicitis at all!
The man's eyes were red, and the veins popped out on his forehead!
"Sir?"
His assistant saw him shaking, so he asked tentatively.
Ace was stunned, looking over the chart over and over again. The shock on his face was gradually replaced by frustration.
Regret flooded him like a tidal wave.
"Anna......"
How much did you hide from me?
Ace raised his hand to wipe the tears from his face, trying to control his breathing to stabilize himself. His hand clutched the chart, his eyes boiling with emotion.
"Find out for me right now what happened to Anna in prison these past two years! Remember, I want it all!"
After that, Ace took the chart and went home.
The next hour of waiting was agonizing.
When his cell phone screen lit up, Ace picked it up.
"Say it."
Listening to the man's impatient voice, his assistant thought about what he was about to say, swallowed hard, and then said, "Sir, Miss. Carl did suffer a lot in prison these two years ......"
Inexplicably, Anna's exquisitely enchanting face floated before his eyes. She smiled at him and told him in the coldest of tones how she had messed with the people in prison.
The man snapped his head around, "Say it!"
The aide gritted her teeth, "Miss. Carl had a baby in prison! As soon as the baby was born, it was taken away from its biological father."
Ace's eyes flashed with shock as if he had been struck by lightning. He growled, "Who was that man?!"
"Garren Shawn."
It was him.
It was him!
Ace froze for two seconds and slammed the phone hard on the couch!
That baby must have been conceived before Anna was incarcerated, so she and Garren had been together for a long time!
"Anna!"
From his chest came shock and anger mixed with a strange throbbing pain that swept through his limbs like a wave together!
Ace covered his chest and stayed like that for a long time, but the mixed feelings remained.
Then Ace seemed to realize something. The man's eyes lit up. He dialed his cell phone, ordering, "Go to investigate Garren Shawn right now! I want to know his exact location now!"
Ace reopened the chart and stared wide-eyed at the words on it!
NO!
Didn't Lily White in him transplant the kidney? How could it be Anna!
He thought momentarily and called again, "Check on Lily White too, especially the details of that kidney transplant in the hospital. Check it all out for me!"
He had to find out the truth!
