Chapter 7

“I will be leaving for my job interview Karen, it’s time to get off bed.” Emma was saying the next morning as she pushed Karen on the bed who lazily just looked at her and continue with her sleeping.

Before she was sacked from work, her house rent were due and she was supposed to pay her landlord when she got paid her next salary but now that she had been sacked, she didn’t have any money at hand except the one she would use in buying food. Luckily for her, Emma agreed for her to stay with her in this her little apartment till she got another work and rent her own house.

“Why don’t you just go without telling me. You are disturbing my peace…. It’s still early in the morning and you want me to get off bed so early. Just go babe…” Karen said while covering her face With the bed’s duvet.

“Whatever! But don’t forget to get the contraceptives okay?”

“Okay, bye. Good luck.” Emma walked out closing the door behind her.

After two hours of sleeping, Karen finally got up with a red face. In the past she wasn’t used to this while still working at the Blue Sapphire company. She’d always woke up on time to go to work, but now that it seems she was no longer working, what else could she do rather than sleep and eat and Walt till she got another job.

With that on time, she quickly rushed in to the bathroom to take her bath. Aster that, she applied her skin care and wore a blue dress; one that was short reaching her knees while bringing out her sexy body. She used some time to glance herself in the mirror and saw the weak girl before her.

Her parents had died from a young age, hence it was her grandma Philemon who took care of her till she came of age. Unfortunately her grand mother also passed away just when she finished college, and it broke her so much because it ease the only person she had.

It was at such critical point of her life that she met Sage Mendes, now ex- boyfriend supposedly married to her best friend Ava.

Sage was a very cool and jovial person and they had met one morning at a coffee shop, the one Karen was used to going. She had felt goosebumps when she laid her eyes on Sage because he was so attractive yet pretended like she did not notice him not to seems cheap.

It was as if Sage was also attracted by her beauty that he walked up and sat next to her on the chair and that was how they met..

After they began dating he was her everything because he gave her comfort and was there when she needed it most, this made her fall more in love with him.

But after she got a job at Blue Sapphire that was when she couldn’t get the time to always be with him anymore because she was always busy. Moreover, it shouldn’t seems like she should be depending on him for all her needs.

Karen and Ava Reed both graduated from college as besties, although Emma was also her best friend but at this time she was out of the country to go visit her family who stayed abroad.

It was during her off day when Karen took Ava along with her to have coffee with Sage that both met, but who would have thought that those two will tangle behind her back. However, the scumbag and bitch are meant for each other.

She wasn’t someone who was used to having heavy makeup on her face, so she did light makeup and got ready. When she looked herself one more time in the mirror and saw that she was good to go, she went out shutting the door.

“First is the take the contraceptive, then might submit my resume at new companies and see if I got accepted at any one.” Karen was saying as she stopped a bus and got in.

“Please take me to Moons pharmacy, thank you!” She told the driver with a smile on her face. She hadn’t eaten anything, so while coming back home she would buy food stuffs to make food. Thank goodness grandma Philomina thought her how to cook.

As the bus drove through the busy city, Karen’s eyes got a boutique. It was still the same “LA BEAUTE’” written in front of the boutique then a frown came on her fave. She felt irritated just by glancing at it.

She and Sage used to come here to buy clothes and he would always pick out a wedding dress asking her to put it on and see if the dress fit her which Karen would gladly do, then Sage would praise her of how stunning she looked in the dress and how he couldn’t wait to set his eyes on their wedding day and all those blah blah blah about not waiting anymore to make her his wife, but now wasn’t she the same lady tossed out like a begger.

A tear came out from her eyes but she wiped them off with her arm “I shouldn’t ruin my makeup for a fool who don’t deserve my tears. You are the most beautiful girl in the world Karen Flints and you’ll soon find that special one in your life.” Karen assured herself and smiled.

When they got to the pharmacy, Karen alighted down, paid and walked inside.

“Welcome miss, what do you want to buy?” Karen was greeted as she got inside. The pharmacy was a very big one and because it was popular, a lot of people come here. Since it was early in the morning that she came, she was surprised to see that not a lot of people came this morning.

“Good morning, please can I get contraceptive for pregnancy you know.” Karen was shy saying it, but the lady understood and smiled at her.

“That’s alright, I’ll get them now.” The lady told her as she stood up from her seat to get the medicine. Not lies, she was a very pretty lady plus friendly too, no different from Karen.

Karen watched as the contraceptive was bought to her, after that the lady packed it in a nylon. Karen paid and walked out after thanking the lady who in turn smiled back.

As she was putting the contraceptives inside her bag, a car stopped before her and before she could comprehend what was going on, she was dragged forcefully into the car.

It was so sudden and shocking that the contraceptives even fell off her hands. The kidnapper placed her between them and as she tried to scream, a while hand scarf was placed in her nose, she felt drowsy and saw darkened covering her sight as she fell asleep.

The car left drove away after then.

After ensuring the car had drove away, the attendant in the pharmacy rushed out and picked the contraceptives on the floor. “I’ll help her to keep this, and will give her once she returns back.”

Meanwhile, not far from the pharmacy was a black corolla car. A man with hazel eyes smiled as he talked to someone on the phone, “Master Ben, we’ve gotten her!”

“Good. Just keep her on hostage and don’t allow her to escape, I’ll be right there.” The other person said.

“Okay noted!”

The call was disconnected between the two people. After that, the car drove away.
