Chapter 6

Candance's POV

To prevent further aggravating him, I hopped up as soon as I could on my unsteady legs and lay down on the bed. I was lying there, my face pressed against the sheets. I wailed in agony as soon as I felt a knife enter my back.

He was writing on my already open back wound. I had no idea what he was chopping. Only when the pain became unbearable did I begin to cry. I was so exhausted that I couldn't even yell.

"I notice you aren't screaming in pain, I guess this doesn't hurt enough," I said as he stabbed the knife into my back. He pulled out the knife and resumed the violence.

"Just kill me already!" I yelled in agony.

"No, I've got one more surprise for you."

I heard the door open and someone enter before I recognized the voice within.

"Mummy."

Chloe was present.

When I raised my head to look at her, she was starring at me and the man she didn't realize was her father. She was standing in the room, as usual, cuddling fluffy.

"What are you going to do to her?" I yelled, since I didn't want him to kill her like he did my father.

He smiled and pulled her over, saying, "She's going to join us in the fun."

She stayed there, staring at me as though she required my approval.

"I said get here, you mongrel!" he said as he walked over to her and slapped her across the face. I had to act quickly as she sobbed. I got out of bed, took a syringe from the bedside shelf, and moved over to stab him in the neck.

He scowled at me and exclaimed, "Bitch!" as he realized what I had done.

He was already more vulnerable, so I wasn't going down quietly.

"I'll finish you right this second," he said as he slammed me against the wall.

"Leave her alone!" Chloe exclaimed as she raced up to us and slammed his knee. I reached for the bedside light, lifted it, and slammed it into his skull as he turned to face me again after kicking her away.

Before falling, Alpha Thomas thumped the earth.

I quickly grabbed Chloe and dashed out of the room. I staggered into the basement with her in my arms, having neglected to dress. The chilly air searing my wounds made me hiss in pain.

As soon as I arrived, I put Chloe to bed and began loading the sack with all of our belongings. We had to depart before Alpha Thomas awoke since we were out of time." Finally, someone is fleeing!

Dahlia laughed.

"Dahlia, please stop from being caustic at this moment; we must depart promptly. "Are you capable of healing?"

"No! Despite our dire circumstances, we can deal with the wounds."

I finished collecting our possessions, put on a plain gown, and grabbed Chloe.

"Where are we going?" she said as we crept out of the pack house.

"We're going far away from here, sweetheart," I answered, knowing we were still on the pack grounds as we successfully navigated the dense woodland after leaving the home. We continued walking after eluding the patrol men, getting closer and closer to the borders.

When we were almost there, I threw Chloe and the luggage across the border.

I crouched to her level and looked at her sorrowful eyes and tiny hands clutching fluffy.

"I need you to change into your Wolf, and I need you to let Calla take control," I pushed. "I need you to do something for me, baby."

"Are we going?"

"Yeah, sweetie, we are."

"And when we have a big house, food, and a father, we'll be happy."

I didn't want to dampen her spirits, so I nodded. We had no choice but to run, even though I had no idea where we would find refuge or what the rest of the world had in store for us.

When she dropped the fluffy, I helped her sit down on the floor.

"You need to focus and let Calla speak, okay?"

After nodding, she sat down. Soon after, she began to shift, her small claws showing pale silver fur and canines.

She wasn't yelling as loudly as she had been in the past, and soon a beautiful pup with silver fur was standing on all fours in front of me.

"Calla," I answered with a smile.

"I did it!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down.

I stood up and smiled at her before doing what I was supposed to do.

It was time for me to do my job, so I stood up and smiled at her.

Afterwards I felt as if all relationships and connections had been cut. "As an omega in your pack, I, Candance Mitchell, accept your rejection." If Alpha Thomas and I want to go rogue from now on, so be it."

I swiftly transformed into a wolf and handed Dahlia the reins. "Choose fluffy Calla," she murmured, approaching the sack and putting it in her mouth.

Calla treated fluffy similarly.

"So, we're doing this?" Dahlia was questioned.

"You're absolutely correct."

Following that, we dashed towards the forest while crossing borders.

We were outlaws.

We went a little further and came across a clearing.

"We need to spend the night here," Dahlia told me, "because if we walk any further, we might collapse."

"All right, Calla is exhausted."

We were about to fall asleep when we heard bushes rustling, and I could feel Dahlia's anxiousness rising again.

"Calm down, Dahlia," I hissed, recognizing what was going on.

Six large wolves sprang out of the bushes, and I knew they weren't rogues. They resembled skilled pack warriors and were enormous.

"What are we going to do?" Dahlia was the one I asked.

"I don't know, it appears that they are out to kill," Dahlia felt a whiff of something as she moved backwards to cover Calla from them. A wonderful smell. That satisfied us and smelled delicious.

Could it be?
