CHAPTER 3 Revenge

Lottie's POV

Alfie must be my jinx! Since I met him today, everything has gone wrong.

He immediately covered my mouth and dragged me aside, making sure that my voice wouldn't be heard by the people in the room before he stopped.

"Why are you stopping me?" I pried his hand off my mouth, but he held onto my right hand tightly. "Let go of me! I want to go in and ask Lewis why he's treating me like this, and then I'll kill that despicable man!"

"What can you do besides make a fool out of yourself by rushing in there now?" He looked at me sternly.

“That doesn't matter! Lewis insulted me. He insulted Winnie. I have the right to be angry!"

I pushed Alfie hard for stopping me, but he remained unmoved, which made me even angrier.

"Lottie, I am not telling you not to be angry, but going in there is only confirming what Lewis said about you: an impulsive and brainless fool!"

"F*ck you! I don't care about that. I only know that whoever stops me is my enemy." The raging sea inside me just wanted to tear Lewis into pieces.

I tried to break free from his restraint with all my strength, but he held me down tightly.

"Do you think you can beat him? You haven't transformed yet, and Lewis has been transformed for 2 years and has received my training. On the slim chance that you do win, you're in Oceans Howl Pack now. Do you want to be arrested by the warriors of the Pack for assaulting the Alpha heir and trigger a war between two packs?"

After he finished speaking, he let go of me, but his words calmed me down. I clenched my fist tightly.

"I won't just let it go like this. I can't do nothing and let him get away with it!"

"I'm not telling you to do nothing. I'm telling you to be smart about this. Now that you know his thoughts, you can use it to make his life miserable."

I looked at Alfie in surprise. "Why are you helping me? You're his uncle after all."

" I told you, he has a lot of things to do today. He has class with me. After class, I have to take him to different places in the pack to attend various meetings. These things have already been arranged by me a long time ago. If you rush in today, he won't be able to attend anything after that, and I don't like my plans being disrupted."

Had I heard him correctly? What kind of reason is that?

“That is ridiculous!" I thought he had a more noble reason, such as not wanting me to break the peace between two packs by dealing with it this way. I didn't expect it was just because he didn't want his plans disrupted!

Now it seems that he is just a selfish person, and if that's the case, I shouldn't listen to him anyway.

The door to Lewis' room suddenly opened, and Lewis looked surprised when he saw us. He quickly closed the door and walked out.

"Uncle Alfie, Lottie, what are you doing here?"

Looking at his pretending-to-be-happy-and-flustered appearance, I couldn't help but want to slap him, but Alfie secretly stopped me. I looked at Alfie, his eyes full of threat, and the strong sense of crisis made me stop my actions.

Son of a bitch! Let's see how long he can keep up this act of being affectionate!

"When did you guys get here?" He gave a guilty smile.

The charming smile that used to make me feel weak in the knees now made me want to vomit.

"We just arrived and bumped into each other in the stairwell." Alfie looked at me and put on a perfect fake smile, as if he were a gentleman helping me out. "Right, Lottie?"

He had no laughter in his eyes, only a strong sense of oppression. I didn't know why I was afraid of him, but my long-prided intuition told me it was best to go along with what he said.

"Yes."

"Is there something you came to see me about?" His eyes wandered, clearly his thoughts were on Winnie.

"She came to give you a gift." He looked at Lewis with obvious displeasure. "And I came to remind you that it's time for your class."

Lewis looked at his watch, and his face instantly turned pale.

"Sorry, Uncle Alfie, I won't be late again."

"I told you on your first day of training that I hate people who are not punctual. There won't be a next time."

"I understand, Uncle Alfie."

I was surprised that Lewis was so obedient in front of Alfie.

When did Alfie get such a high position in Oceans Howl Pack that made Lewis so obedient?

"What gift did you bring me?" Lewis asked, turning his attention back to me with anticipation.

I really couldn't force a smile on my face. Although reluctantly, under the powerful aura of Alfie, I had to restrain my emotions of wanting to hit him in the face. "I forgot to bring it."

"It's okay, bring it next time. I'm going to class now. You should head home."

After speaking, they left together under Alfie's silent urging.

I stood in front of the door, hesitating for a long time whether to push open the door and have an honest conversation with Winnie. In the end, I decided not to. There must be a reason why she didn't tell me. I didn't want to scare her by walking in.

Feeling troubled, I sat in their Pack House garden and sorted out my thoughts before leaving. If I went back like this, my father would definitely notice something wrong with me. If he asked me, I wouldn't be able to hide it from him.

Because my mother died early from illness, without Luna's help, he had many pack affairs to deal with on a daily basis. I couldn't distract him with my problems.

The culprit of all this trouble is Lewis! I should have trusted my intuition about him.

Throughout the year we've been together, I've always felt that Lewis didn't really like me as much as he claimed. But under his superb acting skills and sweet words, I chose to believe him again and again.

I must retaliate against him fiercely and make him regret treating me and Winnie like this!
