Chapter 4 MY MOTHER'S MAN

~YULIA

My heart skipped multiple beats as I stared up at the man towering above me.

He was dressed in an all white outfit. A shirt, a pair of pants and boots. His dark hair and eyes were the only contrasting colours on his body which suited him so well actually.

There was also something else about him that hit me. He looked and felt too familiar. Had I met this man before?

My wolf stirred with alarm as I prepared to attack if the situation called for it. I blinked twice and fixed my eyes on the eerily beautiful man before me.

"Hi, you must be Yulia Moonshadow," he began with a fatherly smile and I staggered back in shock.

"Who the fuck are you and how do you know my name?" I demanded, while shooting daggers at him with my eyes.

My wolf immediately came alive and prepared to attack. Questions ran through my mind in a couple of seconds. Was he sent by Dimitri? Or was he a different threat entirely?

My tone made my mother suddenly jump and in a flash, she was standing between us.

"Relax, Yulia. He is one of my important guests," she announced.

My eyes went wide with shock. "Oh! You're my mom's. . . Boyfriend. . ."

He chuckled lightly and that was all the response I needed.

"I don't see your boys. . ." Mom whispered.

He shrugged. "I'm sorry about that. Something came up and they had to take care of it," he explained.

I furrowed my brows. It was not like I wanted his men flooding this place. It was good that they were not able to make it.

Then he moved his gaze to me before stepping into the house and offering me his hand. I instantly felt the power that his presence was demanding flow through the air and tingle into my body.

"I am Lycan Silver Frostwood of Frostwood Pack," he announced.

My heart sank to the deepest part of my stomach and I staggered back again as realisation hit me.

"Y— You're the Alp— Alpha of this p— pack," I stuttered, unable to form words the right way.

Lycan Silver scoffed. "No, that's an understatement. Frostwood is just my hometown. I am a Lycan, not an Alpha. This makes me King of Kings; Alpha of Alphas, Ruler of Rulers— a purebred werewolf carrying the goddess' blood in its purest form," he announced.

My mouth came open as I realised how much of a big deal he was. "A— Apologies for not recognizing your authority, my Lord," I whispered.

He suddenly stepped closer to me. "Please, I'm dating your mother, so let's quit the formalities and refer to each other by our first names, Silver," he announced.

I blinked multiple times at how cool he was and I shot daggers at my mother for not preparing me properly for this visit.

Of course Dimitri did not stand a chance against a Lycan!

"It's an honour to welcome someone as great as you to our small home," I said, switching to being the perfect host.

"Silver, I hope the trip here wasn't strenuous," Mom finally stepped in.

Silver took my mother's hands in his. "It doesn't matter how strenuous a trip is if it's to come see you," he whispered and I was taken aback by his words.

Mother blushed instantly as he stared dreamily into her eyes. He looked beyond lovestruck.

"There is that beautiful smile that I have come to worship, Mariana. . ." He added.

"Stop it, Yulia is watching. I have prepared some of your favourite food. Come with me," she said instead.

Again, I blinked continuously before following them to our small dining. I stared in awe at the beautiful table with mouth watering dishes. I could not remember the last time we had placed this much good food on our table.

It was either my mom used all her life's savings on it or she used mine.

Mom showed Silver to his seat and he offered to tuck her into hers instead. She giggled at his action before he fell into his.

Then she looked up and noticed me standing awkwardly before them. "What are you waiting for? Get into the chair and eat, you must be very hungry," she announced.

Then I looked down at my clothes and realised that I still had the ugly coffee stains on them.

"Ah, one second. I— I should get into appropriate clothes," I stated and ran into our room.

I ran into our room, pulled off my ruined blouse and picked another shirt to wear. I should have worn a dress but I did not feel up to it.

Next, I hurried back into the dining. "Sorry for ke—" I stopped halfway when I saw Silver and my mom making out like it was nobody's business.

They stopped the moment they heard me and cleared their throats. Then they started giggling and blushing like teenagers.

"I'm just going to pretend I didn't see that," I muttered slowly and sank into my seat.

My mom scooped some salad for Silver and he smiled back at her. I could not ignore how much love I could feel radiating from both of them.

They were inseparable.

I sighed and dropped my fork. It was time to get down to business. "Do you really love my mom?" I asked out of the blue.

This caught them off guard and took them some time to tear away from each other's gaze. His dark eyes bore into mine and I saw the powerful emotion in them.

"With all my heart," he whispered.

"Why do you love her out of all the women in the world? She has no status. She's just my mom," I continued with my interrogation and my mother never dared to interrupt.

Silver looked from me to my mother again. "Like you said, there are other women in the world. I was mated before and I loved that woman so much but unfortunately, she had to die. Everything felt dark since then and I have been grumpy and annoying but the moment Mariana walked into my life. . ." He trailed as he placed his hand on hers. "She lit it up and made me the best version of myself. This is something the other women could not do," he concluded.

An involuntary shiver seized me and I released a shudder because of the power of his feelings.

"D— Do you have children?" I asked.

He nodded as a warm smile formed on his lips. "I have three little cute babies, very naughty boys. They would really appreciate having a sister who will look out for them," he revealed.

"Right, you need me to babysit them," I muttered.

Both my mother and Silver broke into laughter. "Well, If you can tolerate them. They're a handful," he added.

It was only fair for me to repay his kindness by babysitting his kids, who were going to become my brothers soon, very strange.

"It's time for me to give my verdict," I muttered.

Both Mom and Silver shot to their feet instantly. "Do you approve of Silver?" She asked.

I exhaled sharply. "Yes, I approve," I announced.

"Yes!" Mother exclaimed.

Suddenly, Silver went down on his knees and revealed a ring. Then he looked up at my mother with the most serious expression while I rose to my feet in shock.

"Will you marry me?”
