Chapter 5 SURPRISE AFTER WEDDING

~YULIA

My mother and I were in the most luxurious carriage I had ever seen.

Mom was clad in the most dramatic wedding dress I had ever set eyes on. She looked celestial and pure and innocent. She was very pretty and I kept asking myself if I was truly her daughter because no one could steal the show from her.

She had forced me into a red dress because I was the one to take her down the aisle since we had no one else.

I had to admit that I was very proud of her. At least, one of us had found happiness and things were going to work out great for us in the end because there was no way Dimitri stood a chance against a Lycan and his army. It would be a suicide mission for him.

Silver had offered to marry her the next day after our meeting. Had we not had the Dimitri crisis then I would have refused to rush the wedding. But as fate would have it, the goddess had truly sent us our savior.

"We're here," I announced the moment the carriage came to a stop.

I got out first and helped my mother out. Then we stood still and stared at the grand estate in awe. It was beyond beautiful and it screamed luxury.

Indeed, a King lived here.

"This is wonderful, is this really going to be our new home?" Mom whispered into my ear.

"Let's not get our hopes up, you have your wedding to attend," I reminded her.

That was when a group of maidens dressed in mild pink dresses walked over to us. There were six of them and they all carried flower baskets.

"Welcome, my Lady. You may come with us," they announced.

My mom smiled as they began to lead the way, littering it with beautiful flowers of every kind.

As we neared the main hall, wedding bells began to resonate and our presence was announced.

Suddenly, Mom became restless and started searching her neck. "My necklace!" She exclaimed and turned to me. "This is bad luck! I need my necklace! It's the only thing I have of my family," she cried.

"Relax, it must have dropped in the carriage. I'll go get it for you. Just wait here and I'll be back in a few minutes, Mom," I announced.

Then I raced back the way we came. The carriage was still there and I was thankful. "Now where can this necklace be," I muttered before I started my search.

I checked under the carriage, the floor around us and was about to give up when I opened the carriage and checked under the seats.

That was when I saw the shimmering piece of jewellery and I heaved a sigh of relief. Then I grabbed the necklace and placed it close to my heart.

"Thank the goddess," I whispered.

Then I turned around to head back when I bumped into someone. I looked up and was met with cold sapphire eyes that demanded authority and power from all who gazed upon me.

But that was not what startled me the most, it was the fact that he possessed the same face as the annoying triplets from yesterday.

I staggered back instantly and that was when I saw the rest of his two brothers. I gasped.

"Look who turned up in our nest," the same brother who had spoken that day began. His grey eyes bored into mine and demanded to know all my secrets.

I looked down at their clothes and realized they were not dressed for the occasion. They were more like hunters.

But what could they be hunting on this day? Me?

It was at this point that my heart began to hammer hard against my chest. I needed to escape these awfully beautiful bastards before they abducted me.

Were they this obsessed with me?

First, they followed me to the club, interfered with Tharus, next they followed me to the store and now, they were here at my Mom's wedding.

"Stay away from me, you monsters!" I screamed and revealed my claws.

I needed to think fast. I could never take them on my own. What I needed to do was get back to my mother. There were a lot of guards with her. They would never dare to attack the Lycans King's men.

All I needed was the perfect cue to escape.

"I think it's time to pay back for your sins," The gray eyed brother muttered. Then he took a step toward me. "I'm going to have fun making you pay. . ."

I looked down at the ground and saw the dirt. This was my chance. "Well, you'll have to catch me first. . ." I stopped and shot to the ground in a flash. Then I grabbed as much dirt as I could and launched it at his face.

The brother cried out and I used that moment of confusion to run harder than I had ever done. These men were never going to get me.

"Bitch!" He screamed.

"I think I like her," another said.

I blocked them out and made it to my mom.

"My goddess, you look as if you saw a ghost!" Mom exclaimed.

"I found it!" I announced and her expression lit up instantly. I helped secure it around her neck and one of the flower maidens wiped away the sweat from my face.

Then I took my mother down the aisle to Silver who was waiting anxiously at the altar. They both blushed when they set eyes on each and I safely gave my mother to Silver, hoping with all my heart that I had not made a mistake and given my mom to the devil himself.

As Mom said her vows and they accepted each other as one, it brought tears to my eyes. I never thought that I would see this day coming.

Not only was it my mom's happiest day but it was also mine.

Eventually, the celebration came to an end and my parents bid the guests goodbye. Then Silver turned to us and said, "It's time to show you to your new home."

He led us out of the hall and into the main mansion. My Mom and I gasped. "It's even prettier on the inside," Mom said.

From the bright light that illuminated the house to the luxurious paintings and sculptures on every corner of the space. It was almost like stepping into a museum— a beautiful one at that.

"There's something that bothers me though," I voiced out my concerns.

Silver immediately walked to me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Oh, what is it, Love?" He asked as he knitted his brows together.

"You said you had three babies but I never saw them at the party," I pointed out.

"Oh that? I already told your mother. I forgot to notify you," he began in an apologetic tone. "They were eager to be at the wedding and meet you but a disturbance occurred at our borders, something to do with the rogues. So they offered to fix it while I stayed for my wedding," he explained.

I tilted my head back as my wolf shifted with confusion. "Take care of it? I thought— you said they were just babi—"

I was cut off by the sound of the grand double doors coming open behind us. Silver lifted his head in the direction and his expression lit up with a big smile.

"Ah, we were just talking about you three. Come along and meet your sister, Yulia," Silver told them.

Then I began to turn and the world seemed to slow as I performed the action.

"Yulia, meet my three naughty babies," he announced. "Icelyn, Issa and Ian Frostwood. . ."

The moment I set eyes on them, the world came to a sudden stop as my heart forgot how to beat and breathing became the hardest task.

Because standing before me were the same triplet devils that had recently become a thorn in my flesh.

"Holy shit, the goddess works in crazy ways," the gray eyed brother muttered as they all stared wide eyed at me.

And at that moment, everything became too overwhelming and I did not trust myself to stand or walk or breathe anymore.

I fell.

But warm hands caught me and when I looked up, I was met with glowing emerald green eyes that had the power to light up my world.

They were the last thing I saw before the subconscious world claimed me.
