Astro's Obsession

FEW MINUTES BEFORE DANIEL SNEAKED INTO THE PALACE:

The air was tense as Daniel tried to explain to the palace guards why his name wasn't on the list of men required to be in the training room.

He was dressed in a plain but appealing shirt, and his trousers were well-fitted. He tried his best to look perfect; he even had to tie his long hair, but the guards were hell-bent on humiliating him, and as much as his wolf was getting annoyed, he had to control himself.

"What are you doing here, handsome young boy? You look like a weakling who should be dressed in a gown and not playing with swords," one of the guards said, trying to mock and flirt with him at the same time.

At that moment, Daniel wished he had done something about his heavenly beauty, as people might mistake him for a lady.

"I am here to take the test that is part of the application process to become a royal guard.”

The guards' polished silver armor glinted in the sunlight, their sneers twisting their faces into cruel smiles.

The two men looked at each other and licked their lips seducingly at Daniel. “Well, if you need cash, offer us a good night in bed, and we'll pay you well. And don't ask us about entering the palace, it's not possible, we are looking for a guard, and not a sex pet!” One of them said with a sneer, while the other burst into taunting laughter.

Daniel kept quiet for a while, thinking of what to say, he felt angry that the men were looking down on him. If they knew he was a hybrid, they'd probably realize that he could single-handedly kill a hundred men. He remembered what his father told him about the king's dislike for gays and he decided to use it to his benefit.

“Did you just offer to pleasure a guy?” Daniel asked with a deep frown on his face as he squinted his eyes at the men. The men looked taken aback, they were expecting him to use their words against them.

“What do you mean?” One of the men asked, trying to hide his fear.

“Allow me to apply for the position of a guard, or else I will tell the king that you guys are gay, and the consequences will be -” Daniel paused, allowing his words to sink in. He internally scoffed at his own words, like why in the name of fuck will he ever think of reporting gay to the king he loathed when he was also gay.

Daniel's piercing blue eyes sparkled with intensity, his chiseled features and strong jawline framed by his tied-back hair, his fitted shirt and trousers accentuating his lean physique.

The men looked at each other with a fearful gaze, contemplating Daniel's words. “If we don't allow you into the palace, how in the world will you be able to report our sexuality to the king?” One of the men asked him, and it was at that moment that Daniel knew it would be a long day.

He wanted to assure them that there was nothing wrong with being gay, but he couldn't, instead, he sighed sadly, acting like he had given up, and he walked away from the guards’ presence.

He stood in the corner, his mind racing with uncertainty. "What am I going to do?" he thought to himself. "This is madness. I could get caught, killed... or worse." His heart pounded in his chest as he scanned the area, searching for an opportunity.

That's when he spotted them - a group of men carrying heavy goods and equipment, their faces strained with effort. Without hesitation, he quickly mixed with them, his pulse quickening as he used the commotion to sneak into the palace.

Astro, a young demon in his early thirties, stood on one of the balconies of the castle tower, watching the mysterious young man who had just sneaked in. The man looked familiar, and he tried to read his mind, hoping to remember where he had seen him, but he wasn't able to read it. It was like the man was a dark mystery on his own.

Daniel's hair smelled of lavender and chamomile, the sweet scent wafting up to Astro's nostrils and teasing his senses.

Humm….

Astro watched him carefully, curious to know what he would do next. He saw him as he sneaked into the main entrance, looking left and right to make sure no one was watching him. He flirted with the few guards at the second entrance and once the men were distracted, he entered like a scheming ghost.

“Lord Astro, the king wouldn't be able to see you today something urgent came up.” Remy, Astro's bodyguard and sex pet informed him when he entered the balcony, but Astro wasn't listening, his eyes were fixed on the mysterious man, and he felt himself being pulled to him.

It was as if Remy could read his lord's mind, and he squinted his eyes, looking at Daniel with a jealous expression.

“My Lord, you are safe because the king is unaware of your sexuality, if you keep ogling at all the men you see, I can assure you that the king will find out about us, and we will be beheaded in broad daylight!” Remy said, his voice filled with jealousy, but Astro paid no attention to his words.

Remy's voice turned low and husky, his words dripping with venom as he warned Astro, "My Lord, you're playing with fire, and we'll both get burned.

When Daniel finally disappeared into the throne room, Astro turned to face the jealous Remy with a glint in his eyes.

“Find everything you can get on that man, he is special, and I want him!” Astro commanded Remy with an Alpha's voice.

Remy's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in frustration, but he knew better than to disobey Astro's commands. He bowed his head and left the balcony, determined to uncover the mysterious Daniel's secrets.

Daniel stepped into the grand throne room, and the chandeliers' sparkle was like a whispered promise of secrets. His heart raced with anticipation as he scanned the room, searching for a glimmer of direction.

But the huge palace was overwhelming, and he felt like a small boat adrift in a stormy sea. He had no idea where to go or who to turn to.

With a deep breath, he set off to find the training room, hoping against hope that they'd take a chance on him as a royal guard. But the palace's twists and turns seemed designed to confuse him, and before he knew it, he was lost. Just as frustration was about to get the better of him, he collided with Lazarus who looked like he'd just sucked on a very bitter lemon, because his eyes were blazing with fury.
