CHAPTER 5 — FEYRA SMINORV

I'm sitting on the corner of her bed, my hands shaking slightly as I hold her knees. His words echoing in my mind like an ominous bell: “You are ours now.” And the promise that they wouldn't do anything to me was a weak attempt at consolation. Still, it's a small relief to know they weren't the type to possess me against my will.

Until recently, I had a normal life, or at least, a life that, I thought, was normal. Now, everything has changed. I have become a pawn in a game I barely understand, a game where my life always hangs in the balance. The idea that they won't be violent towards me doesn't bring me much peace. And I know that, even without touching me, they can easily end everything I know with a simple snap of their fingers.

After all, what does it mean to be “theirs”? It's like my very identity has been ripped away from me. I am no longer Feyra, an independent young woman with dreams and hopes. Now, I am property, a chess piece that they move as they please. And I know that I am not completely free from the threat of a bullet to the head, and that threat hangs over me like a dark, heavy, constant cloud.

The important thing now is to survive, find a way out of this dark situation, captivate and win everyone's love, it can prolong my lifespan. Heros and Zedekiah, which may be the most difficult among them.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart.

— You will continue to sleep with me, and you will always have one of us with you — he continues telling me, looking into my eyes.

— Why does your brother have to be the first to be with me and not you? — My eyes go down his body, he is still shirtless. Luther doesn't have any tattoos.

— What? — he asks, being taken aback by my change of subject.

— Why not you take my virginity and him? I would feel more comfortable if I were you. — He starts coughing and getting up from the bed. — I was just curious to know.

— Because you told me before leaving the basement that it wouldn't be possible for me — he answers me, without looking at me.

— And you told me, still. And you had the opportunity to do so, earlier today, but your brother took the lead, why? Because he's Don, does he need to be first of all? — I get up, approaching him. — Why do I have to have your brothers to have you, too? If I want to have just you… — I slide my hand down his chest, feeling his firm muscles between my fingers.

— That won't happen! — He holds my hand, stopping it in its tracks, when I go further down, reaching the waistband of his pants.

— Why? I ask, looking into his eyes.

—What are you trying to do, Feyra, turn me against my brothers? — His grip on my wrist tightens.

— I'm just trying to understand… You've never shared a woman until now, and you want to do this to me, why? — I feel a mixture of perplexity and indignation.

He looks at me, not knowing exactly how to respond. There is an uncomfortable silence that hangs in the air, filled with unspoken tensions and confused feelings.

— Feyra, that’s not it… — Luther begins, scratching his head in search of the right words. — We just think you're special, you know? It's different.

— Different? — I repeat, arching an eyebrow. — And why exactly am I different?

— Because, honestly, we've never met anyone like you. Someone who makes us feel so alive, so connected. We don't want you to choose between us, we want to be in this together, in some way.

I take a deep breath, absorbing his words.

— I can even believe it's true between you and Lohan and Noah, but about Heros and Zedekiah… the latter even seems to want to use me as a torture experiment. — he laughs loudly. — And how exactly would that work?

— This thing between us, of me being yours…

— For someone who didn't want to, you're very willing and curious about getting involved with us, love. — he stares at me, trying to figure out what I'm up to this time.

— If I'm going to be in a hurry here with you for an indefinite period of time and I won't be able to go because I want to live, why not take advantage? — I advance on him, biting my lips. — I want my first time to be with you, Luther.

It blinks twice!

— That won't happen, sweet! — Heros appears in the bedroom door, standing in the doorway with his arms crossed.

— Why? — I ask, turning to him.

— Because in your seduction game that you're trying to play on my brother, it's not going to work with me.

— You lock me here, tell me I'm yours, and now you're saying I'm the one trying to seduce you? — I roll my eyes — That sounds kind of illogical. If I'm going to be everyone's thing, at some point I'm going to have s*x with him, anyway. I'm just asking for him to be my first. But of course, you won't allow it, you want to be the guy who took my virginity.

He lunges at me, grabbing me by the neck, slamming my back against the wall, I gasp!

— You don't fool me Feyra, if it weren't for my brothers, I would already be six feet under — he presses his hand on my neck, leaving me short of breath. — You are not in charge here, whoever gives the orders in this house is me, and if you want to stay here, you will have to follow them.

— Heros... — Luther, try to intervene and remove your brother's hand from my neck. — You're going to kill her!

He lets go of me and I start to s*ck in air, breathing hard, a tear rolls down my face.

— You will sleep with me from today! — I blink, and look at Luther. He will definitely try to kill me while I sleep.

— Heros… — Luther, try again.

— No! She will sleep with me and there will be no more talk of it, Luther! — He takes another step back and runs his hand through his blond hair that falls into his eyes — I came to invite you both to dinner.

He waits for his brother to pass and when I follow him, he pulls me back, pressing me against the wall.

— I still don't know what you're intending to do, but I'll find out. — he whispers in my ear — And when I know, I'll deal with you myself, and I won't hesitate to put a bullet in that pretty little head of yours.

— Why do you hate me, Heros? And what have I done to you? — I ask him — I was supposed to be hating everyone, I was kidnapped from my country and brought here. I'm stuck with you and this house, unable to return home to my family, I'm the one who should be angry, and hating you!

— Exactly... — he moves away so he can look deep into my eyes — But it seems to me that you are too resigned to the fact that you are our hostage, that you are ours, too friendly with Luther, too close to him, one of their kidnappers.

—And what do you expect me to do? If I freaked out and tried to run away one more time and get shot in the head? You would love it, wouldn't you? Well, deep down, that's what you want. — the confrontation even though I know that I am causing danger. —That way you would have a justification to give your brothers for shooting me.

Heros growls at me, furious, before letting go and going downstairs, I take a deep breath and go downstairs, finding everyone in the kitchen around the wide and spacious counter. They have a dining room which apparently none of them like to use. I sit down next to Luther, another hand stops me as he pulls me, almost making me trip and fall.

I look at the owner of the hand that rests on my wrist. Heros.

— Go sit here — he points to the empty bench next to him, between him and Zedekiah, who has a wicked smile on his lips. I sit between them, feeling distressed and uncomfortable, Luther is facing me, and when our eyes meet, he gives me a wink.

— If you're so willing to be ours, be mine tonight. — Heros whispers in my ear, my first bite, almost making me choke. I look at him, he has a smug smile on his lips and, as if he hadn't said anything much, he starts eating in silence.

It takes me a while to finish my dinner, then busying myself with washing the dishes, but he waits for me when everyone leaves, leaving me alone with him and his eyes on me with every step I take. When I finish and turn around, he extends his hand to me and I stare at it while swallowing nervously.
