Chapter 6

He pulled down his hood and walked towards me as I stood there, studying every step he took. The rain became very heavy, soaking my dress. He stood right in front of me, his long hair falling around his neck.

As water dripped down, I studied his straight jawline. It was very dark and hard to see his face clearly, but the figure in front of me was undeniably handsome.

"Hope you are not hurt," he said with the softest voice, his tone calm and gentle.

"Thank-thank you so much," I said, shivering as the rain poured down on my body. He noticed my shivering.

"Let me get you out of here," he said. I nodded my head as he wrapped his hands around my body, and his pack followed behind. His cold hands on my body made me feel strange. I wondered if I should trust him or follow him.

I had no other options than to go along. He noticed my discomfort and said, "Don't worry, we won't do you any harm." I nodded my head, and we resumed our walk. After some minutes of walking, I noticed different sets of cars parked around the woods.

"Our ride is here," one of his members said after they all shifted back to their human forms. He opened the car door for me, and I got in with lots of thoughts creeping in my my mind: I had no choice. I had no place to go, so I didn't care what would happen to me, even if they decided to snap off my head or something. But there is something inside me that trust this man who had saved me from the bear

The car was indeed warm, and I felt much better as I rubbed my hands on my bare, cold skin, feeling the warmth of the car. I sat next to the window, looking outside. I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking I would have to stay longer in the woods. As we left the woods and moved along the road, I smiled, admiring the trees that followed us.

I glanced over at him. His eyes never left the window, and he didn't say a word to me after saving me in the woods. I didn't bother to start a conversation. I turned my head back to the window and didn't know when I fell asleep.

"We are here," his voice echoed in my head as I woke up, rubbing both my eyes gently. He got out of the car, and then I did the same. My mouth hung open at the sight of the giant mansion in front of me. It was very big and very beautiful. My eyes couldn't move away from the magnificent building.

I stood there, admiring it, until his voice brought me back to reality. "Let's go," he said, and I followed. Some people came out, welcoming their alpha.

Something was different in this pack. They were all free with their alpha, unlike with King Zade, where nobody dared look him in the eyes or try to start a conversation with him. "Please take her to the guest room and bring hot soup for her. She's very cold," he said. The woman nodded her head with a smile on her face and took me to my room.

"Oh dear, you must be very cold," she said, touching my head. She was very old, with long grey hair falling over her arms.

She took me upstairs, and after some minutes of walking, we arrived at a room. She opened the door, and I went inside. It wasn't as big as my room in the Nightfall pack, but it was painted in white and ash colors, with a bed almost as big as my old one. The bed sheets were white.

The room was quite beautiful indeed. "Please go take a hot bath while I find you some dry, clean clothes to wear. We weren't expecting a guest, so there is nothing in the wardrobe," she said, her hands on the door.

"Thank you," I mumbled, as she nodded her head, opening the door to leave. I stripped off my clothes and went into the bathroom, trying to figure out where the hot water switch was.

After many attempts, I finally got the hang of it, switching the button on and allowing the hot shower to warm my skin. I closed my eyes, and my mind went back to King Zade. I kept wondering if he would look for me, but I doubted it.

I was sure running away would make him happy since he only wanted to get rid of me. I brushed off the thought, took the towel, and left the bathroom.

When I got to the room, the clothes were lying on the bed. I took them and put some inside the wardrobe. He didn't know me and was making sure I was comfortable.

The old woman came in with hot soup in her hand and placed it on the table beside the bed.

"Please take it. It will prevent you from catching a cold," she muttered as I nodded my head. She was almost at the door when I stopped her.

"Please, do you know where the alpha is?" I asked.

"He's in his office right now," she replied, leaving through the door. I realized I should have asked where his office was. I took the hot soup in my hand and ate it with much appetite. After finishing, I went out to look for the alpha's office.

I came across a girl who looked about sixteen and asked her where the alpha's office was. She led me there. "This is it," she said with a bright, beautiful smile.

"Thank you," I said, and she smiled again before leaving me alone. I knocked on the door but got no reply, so I tried knocking again. The door opened, revealing a woman with short red hair.

"Come in," she said, opening the door wide for me to enter before she left. The alpha was glancing through a set of papers, not looking at me for a second.

"Thank you for saving me," I broke the silence. He nodded his head and then raised it to look at me. I studied his face for a while—his blonde hair was now tied in a ponytail, and his eyes were blue with a perfect jawline. He was perfectly fit for a model.

"It's alright. In this pack, we have great respect for our females," he said, and I nodded.

"You can stay as long as you want," he added.

"Thank you so much, Alpha," I said, bowing my head. He nodded and resumed looking at the papers, and I exited the room.
