Chapter Six
Gina's POV
“But that won't be possible because I wouldn't want to risk you having another mate.” He said, grabbing my face roughly, his eyes darkened and his hand came crashing into my jaw. My head and jaw throbbed as I felt the taste of blood on my tongue, and my eyes flowed in tears.
“I own you. And I can't risk someone else being your second chance, mate.”
Tears continued streaming down my face as I looked up to him.
“Do you have anything to say? Do you reject this arrangement, or should I call the executioner?”
My soul almost left my body at the sound of an executioner.
“No Alpha,” I answered, “I will be your slave.”
He gave a satisfied smirk, signifying the beginning of my life as his servant.
My life was no longer mine, but his.
“Good. A maid will take you to the room you are meant to stay in.”
“Alpha?” A woman approached us and then bowed her head in respect to Dagen. Her curious eyes fell on me. The questions were vividly written in her eyes, but she didn't dare ask them.
“Diane, please have a private chamber prepared for her. And you,” He turned to me, his eyes so intimidating and dominating that I had to shift my gaze from him. “You look at me when I speak to you.” Involuntary, my eyes fell on him.
“You shall be attended to by maids, and I will call for you whenever I need you. I have a few rules for you and if you abide by these rules, your stay here will be bearable, comfortable and liveable enough.” His voice is so deep and so smooth. I could easily listen to it all day, even though he sounds so ruthless and cold.
I didn't speak, instead I listened to him, like an obedient little wolf.
“Firstly,” he began, “you speak only when you're spoken to. Secondly, you are not allowed to step out of your chambers without my permission. Thirdly, you are only allowed in my office when called upon and never allowed in my chambers, ever. Fourthly, you are not allowed to step out of the castle without my permission either. And lastly, stay out of Nydia’s Way, she is your Queen and Luna, you are to serve her just as you serve me. That's a warning, Gina.” He hissed with so much hatred that I winced at the intensity.
“Flouting these rules will only earn you excruciating punishment.” He concluded without any emotion.
Without hesitation, he turned his back to me with his hands around Nydia's waist and they both headed for the door.
I could only stare in utter disbelief as they walked out.
The woman, Diane, walked closer to me, her lips holding a plastered smile. She escorted me to what looked like my own chamber.
“I will run you a warm bath, my lady, and after that send someone to fetch some food for you. Meanwhile, if you need anything, just let me know, my lady.” She gave a small smile and hurried past me, but I stopped her, holding her hands.
“Thank you. And please, call me Gina.”
She smiled. “Alright, Gina.”
She went to the lavatory, and in a few minutes, she was out. She was about to say something when a knock came at the door.
A young lady strutted in. She looked younger than me, with blonde hair that framed her heart-shaped face perfectly.
“Ah, this is Ruth, and she will be serving you,” Diane informed me.
The young girl smiled, bowing her head in respect.
Diane then left to go fetch me some food.
I sink into the bed in frustration and place my head in my palms. Then I looked up at Ruth who was observing me.
What is it?” I ask her. “Why are you looking at me that way?”
She shrugs and says nothing. Then she pulls out a pad and begins to write. When she is done, she flips the pad in my direction. You have to take your bath and change your clothes.
“Why?” I ask her, feeling slightly disoriented. Even though I know that I stink and my clothes are dirty, I just want to lay my body down and rest.
She shrugs and opens the wardrobe. Sheds me a dress, nods at me, and points towards the lavatory for me to go take my bath.
“I am not changing my dress and taking my bath now. I need to rest a little bit; can you allow me to do that please?”
Furiously, she writes on her pad. I shall report to the Alpha. Do not make things difficult for both of us.
Rolling my eyes, I accept the cloth. Why is she being harsh towards me? Diane was nice to me, and she looks like a nice person too. But I don't seem to understand her attitude.
I shall give you some privacy now. If you need anything, tap the door. She writes.
“Can't you talk?” I ask her.
She smiles sadly and opens her mouth. I gasped loudly at the sight of her tongue which had been cut off.
“I'm sorry about that,” I tell her genuinely. I can't help but wonder if Alpha Dagen was responsible for that as well.
She smiles.
I nod and watch her leave. When she is out of the door, I rush to the lavatory to take my warm bath.
Dagen's POV
“Alpha Dagen,” Edvin, my Beta, hurries into my room completely disarrayed, sweat rolling down his skin that has deceived so many of the girls in my clan.
“What brings you to my presence this bothered?” Even I could feel, there was an unfriendly presence settled at the bottom of my heart.
“It's the Council elder wolves. They are here,” Edvin replied in a haste.
“What? Why are they here?” I asked, waiting for my wolf, Kane, to give me a clue. But he has been giving me the silent treatment as he is not happy with the way I'm treating our mate.
