Chapter 4

Me, who was confused, just stared at his face, trying to remember something that I could use as a clue to this situation, and found that after observing his face for a while, I just remembered something about him, a surprising fact that I had not expected even outside of my plan.

"W-who are you?" I asked with a hesitant tone.

I almost remember the shape of this man, but I'm not sure who and where I've met him, my memories of a few years ago, when I searched thoroughly to find out the identity of this handsome man with a thin moustache in front of me.

I swallowed, the scent of this damned man's body was no less seductive than Gerry's. Although he is not as tall as Gerry's body, he is also athletic and sexy, an intimidating look, but wrapped in qualified sex appeal makes me dilemma with the charm of the men in front of me now.

Oh God, is this a punishment from you or a gift? But this situation is too dangerous to be called a gift.

"Who? Have you completely forgotten who I am?" the man asked, still with his arms around my hips and looking at me deeply.

I couldn't possibly tell the truth right away, that I remembered this man. That would mean I knew him and it would ruin my sweetheart deal with Gerry. I deliberately pretended that I didn't know at all, to make it look like this guy was bragging.

"What's wrong with your brain, brat?"

Gerry grabbed the man's shoulder and shoved him hard, Gerry immediately took me into his arms, this drama made me feel like a crown princess facing a love triangle of princes from two kingdoms. How embarrassing.

"Stop interrupting me with my lover!" the man snapped at Gerry.

"Sam! What the hell are you doing? The Norines have no history of such shame! What's wrong with your head?! You should be concentrating on defending me to keep this arranged marriage going! Instead of concentrating on your ridiculous talk!"

Monica grumbled, then held her head. From what I heard, the man's name was Sam, he glared at his sister with an unfriendly look, who knows what he would do after this.

"Shut up, and Norine's family doesn't give birth to spoiled children who can only waste money. Stop bothering me if you want me to help you," Sam said in a threatening tone.

Monica was speechless, she fell silent and could only stare at us, accompanied by awkward looks from Mr Jerry. This atmosphere was really heavy, I didn't understand what other strange elements would appear after this, but in fact I was already so dizzy.

"Hey man, this guy next to me is definitely my fiancée. We love each other and we're getting married. You shamelessly come and claim you're his girlfriend?"

Gerry pointed out that Sam must have gone mad or this could have been one of Monica's scenarios. I wasn't sure, all I did now was hide next to Gerry and keep an eye out in case there was a chance of persuading Gerry to come home from there. But judging by Gerry's fervour, this argument wasn't going to end any time soon.

"Gerry, stop the argument," I whispered.

Gerry looked out of the corner of his eye for a moment. "Don't you see the situation now? It's ridiculous that we're the first to retreat."

"The situation is not right, Gerry. It's better to analyse what might happen in the future," I pleaded.

I was sure Gerry wouldn't believe me. Then I had an idea that came to me in an emergency.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I really don't know you. Your statement just now is a public lie and has really damaged the harmony of our relationship, I've had enough. Gerry, let's go home," I said.

Gerry's body was still hard to pull, but with a little effort he finally followed me. This man really doesn't know the meaning of patience. I'm not a typical reckless person, I'm quite shy and hesitant, but it keeps me alive in this dangerous city life.

"Hey, is it good to leave someone who was once close to you?" asked Sam in a sad voice.

I turned my head. "Sorry, but I'm not going to fall for your scenario. You can't pretend to be gay if you don't like men."

Monica smiled wryly. "So? Are you proud to be gay? Shame on you. You should realise that you're just a destroyer of harmony and balance in Gerry's life."

"Oh? But he's still not happy about it. And never mind arguing, missy."

I gave off a spark of rivalry through the intimate pose of my hand clinging to Gerry's muscular arm. Gerry didn't mind because we had already agreed to this act, although he didn't know I was enjoying it.

"You're crazy! Stay away from my son, you crazy whore!"

Gerry's father snapped at me, I wasn't as scared as before because I was getting used to it, after all there was Gerry who would most likely guarantee my safety while we were bound by this agreement.

"Dad, don't shout at my lover. You'd better shut up that chatty girl who doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut," Gerry said with a lazy tone and a lacklustre look.

Mr Jerry's teeth clenched hard and there was a rattling sound from there, I just swallowed and even unconsciously tightened my grip on his arm.

Monica stamped her foot in annoyance. "Shameless! Realise that you must be just a whore that Gerry picked up! You have nothing and you are so poor! You even have to sell your body to get food every day!"

I was stunned, what Monica had said was not entirely wrong. I was indeed very poor, even I had to work hard every day to be able to eat simple cheap food, although I didn't have the same job as she said, but the fact that I lived in poverty was true.

Gerry stroked my head, whispering without looking down. "Don't fall for her words. She's a manipulative woman, is your acting that weak? Millions of dollars are waiting for you, you fool."

I gasped, Gerry was giving me motivation, even if it was in bad taste, but at least it was a boost to my spirit now.

"You dream of becoming the mate of an heir to the most famous mafia family in the country with just your skinny body? Pathetic," Monica taunted me again.

I casually turned to her and flashed a winning smile. "Then what's wrong? At least I, who have nothing, have been chosen. It's not like someone who is well off but has been rejected."

I walked out of the room with Gerry, leaving Monica gaping and Gerry with a satisfied smile.
