Chapter 6
I really regret that my deal with this man ended with me becoming a prisoner of the future. For as long as this man's goal has not been achieved, I must remain in his clutches and help him to achieve it. Meanwhile, I am now in an internal polemic because of the appearance of this man called Samuel. I couldn't help it, because Gerry was probably reckless enough to do this.
"Keep that sharp object away from my neck. If you really want this deal to go on until you get what you want," I said, holding back my fear.
"Then don't act up and just do what I say. You're really giving me a headache with your fickle behaviour," Gerry complained as he pulled the knife away from my neck.
I now understand exactly what life is like for a child brought up in a psychopathic environment like this man's. It's not like the films that show the strange behaviour of children raised by criminals, because they tend to be heartless and have no tolerance.
I rubbed my neck to make sure no one was hurt. I grunted in annoyance and kept my distance as he choked again and did dangerous things like before.
"I can't do my duty well if I'm haunted by fear, if you treat me like a stuffed animal and don't let me have the peace of mind to think clearly. Aren't we in the same camp now? You should be affirming my feelings and trying to give me solutions so I can do the same for you,' I complained about Gerry's sadistic attitude.
Gerry's face was still flat, then he casually looked away and put his hands behind his head as if nothing had happened. Even though he had just pointed a gun at someone else.
"I'm going to point out to you from now on that I'm not really the type of person who can persuade people nicely. It's lucky for you that I'm still willing to put up with you not killing you on the spot if you behave," Gerry said and then whistled casually.
I just stared and gaped when I heard his argument. It sounded so ridiculous and frightening that he seemed to think that human life was something that could be eliminated as easily as writing with a marker on a blackboard. I have to find a way not to make mistakes in front of this man, and yet not be under constant pressure from him.
"And I must also remind you that I need to be understood and I need space to think properly. This is my first time in your mafia world. And just so you know, I was confused by the behaviour of this guy called Samuel. I've read the situation carefully so that I can act correctly. Didn't you say yourself that I should do this without mistakes?"
Gerry rolled his eyes lazily. "Well, you're the one who's too eloquent and that's getting you into trouble. Besides, if you don't know her, you don't need to worry about whether you do or not. Just do your plan as best you can, right?"
I was stunned, I paused for a moment and instead struggled with my own thoughts about whether he was saying this because he really knew something about what I was feeling or whether he was just guessing what was on my mind. In some moments, this person is not only scary like a mobster, but also scary like a witch.
"All right, you're right, forget it, but I want us to make another agreement about how we're going to bank during this mission. This is for our own comfort. Oh, so you still respect me because I respect you too," I said seriously.
After a long debate we agreed that we would respect each other's actions and only discuss them if we were going to take action.
Gerry drove me to my house and then angrily told me to stay with him and not to stay in my current house. I realised that the rented house I was living in could not really be called decent because it was in such a bad state, but I still couldn't accept Gerry's words with a sense of spaciousness because I didn't like his piercing words.
I refused his offer to live with him from now on, even though I knew that the house he owned was very luxurious and magnificent, but I thought there were possible risks that I would take if I lived with him there, so I refused the offer. Although there is no guarantee that I will be safe here while the arrangement between me and him is being worked out.
Mr Jerry would act later, when he knew who I was, and he would definitely do anything to make the match between the woman he chose and Gerry happen.
"Tsk, always so stubborn. I offer you one more time, just stay in my house until we reach our goals. This house is so shabby, how can you sniff the smell of the house and still sleep soundly?" said Gerry, still not starting his car to leave this place.
I gave him a flat look. "And continuing to talk about other people's houses is not ethical, Gerry. We just agreed to respect each other's choices. Have you forgotten?"
This time I was angry again, ruffling his feathers and scolding him. Meanwhile, the person I was nagging was just chuckling in his luxury car seat.
"Never mind, I'm tired of answering you. I want to get some rest for my busy day tomorrow. See you later," I said as I turned towards the door.
"Nice boot, boy. Keep working on that walk so it doesn't look like you're flirting with men with your soft arse," Gerry teased me.
"Shut the fuck up, man! Your mouth is so dirty and smelly!" I replied embarrassed.
Silly me, even though I didn't like the harsh words coming out of his mouth, I got so excited when he teased me with dirty words like that. I had to control my bitchiness so as not to embarrass myself in front of him.
"Well, I'll see you later, big-boobed boy," Gerry said, laughing.
I just snorted, not even turning to look at him. I just turned my back to him as I opened the door to my house. The lock opened and I opened the door, just as I was about to step inside there was a huge fire in front of my eyes.
"Zharies! watch out!"
A huge explosion happened, I was blown away and everything went dark, not knowing what happened after that.
