Chapter 4 Settling the Score
Elizabeth scowled at the gross hand on her arm. "Let go."
Lily Martin just laughed, her eyes full of contempt. "Stop acting! I always knew you were a snake. You show up just in time for my brother and Emily's engagement, huh? Even before you were grown, you shamelessly tried to seduce my brother, pulling every trick in the book, but he never even looked your way. Don't you get it? Are you back to embarrass yourself again?"
Lily kept going, "Hiding out in this restaurant today, are you here to watch my brother's happy future?"
Her voice was loud, drawing the attention of everyone around, some even pulling out their phones to record.
Lily didn't stop, looking Elizabeth up and down with a sneer. "But thinking about Nola cheating at home, I get why you're always so promiscuous. Nola must've taught you a few tricks, huh?"
Her laughter got louder. "I heard you and Nola hooked up with an old man together. Was it fun?"
Hearing this, the crowd turned their eyes towards them.
Elizabeth smirked and let out a cold laugh. "Lily, I haven't even started with you, and you dare provoke me?"
Elizabeth was a grudge-holder and hadn't forgotten how, three years ago in Skyhaven City, Lily had spread countless rumors about her and Nola.
Those rumors had left them with nowhere to go!
Before Lily could react, Elizabeth suddenly stood up, grabbed her arm, twisted it hard, and kicked her away.
The restaurant was instantly filled with Lily's screams.
Lily clutched her arm, crying in pain, and fell to the ground in a heap. "My arm! Is it broken? I still have to go to the engagement party later! Elizabeth, you bitch, have you forgotten who my brother is? How dare you treat me like this?"
Elizabeth walked up to her, stepping on her injured arm, grinding it down mercilessly. "I haven't forgotten. I did it on purpose. Can't you tell?"
She leaned in close, laughing softly in Lily's ear. "Stop talking about my business. Let's talk about you hooking up with the housekeeper's son. I heard you're obsessed with the size of his dick?"
Lily's face went pale, but Elizabeth continued, "I have quite a few videos and photos of you two. Do you think the reporters at today's engagement party would like the story of a rich girl and the housekeeper's son?"
Lily forgot the pain in her arm, instinctively grabbing Elizabeth's sleeve, her face showing a pale, helpless plea. "No, you can't."
How did Elizabeth know about this secret?
But Lily had no time to think.
Today was her brother Jeremy Martin's engagement party. Nothing could go wrong. She was also about to get engaged to someone from the Moore family in Silvermist City.
If this got out, not only would the marriage be off, but the Moore family might also destroy the entire Martin family!
Seeing her expression, Elizabeth raised an eyebrow and smiled. "You know how to apologize, right?"
Lily's body instantly tensed, trembling under the watchful eyes of the crowd.
How humiliating it was for her to bow and apologize to the bitch Elizabeth in front of everyone! But Elizabeth had the goods on her.
To protect the Martin family and the marriage, Lily bowed down, lowering her head.
She gritted her teeth, squeezing out a few words. "I'm sorry!"
Elizabeth stood up straight, crossing her arms. "Your voice is too low. I can't hear you."
Lily's eyes were red as she looked up. She was the daughter of the Martin family, always the one receiving apologies.
But seeing Elizabeth's smug gaze, she reluctantly said loudly, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spread rumors and bullied you today!"
Elizabeth was in a great mood, saying, "That's better. Be more polite when you see me in the future. I won't be as lenient as I am today."
Elizabeth dared to threaten her?
Lenient? Forcing her to bow and apologize publicly was lenient?
Lily felt utterly humiliated, her hands shaking with anger.
Watching Elizabeth leave, Lily's eyes filled with malice.
In Skyhaven City, who would bully whom was still uncertain!
After Elizabeth left, her good friend who came to pick her up had already arrived. Alice Rivera saw her and ran over, throwing herself into her arms.
Alice said, "You're finally back! Do you know how much I missed you?"
Elizabeth rubbed her head, seeing Alice's pout in grievance.
"You asked me to prepare a dress and bring it. Are you still thinking about that jerk Jeremy? He's getting engaged here today. Why did you have to come?"
Elizabeth laughed, "Of course not. I'm just here to settle scores."
Alice sighed in relief, pulling her forward, and said, "The engagement party is about to start. Let's go change!"
Three years ago, Elizabeth had fled from Skyhaven City in a hurry. This time, she returned in a dark red, body-hugging dress designed by Alice herself!
Alice personally did her makeup, taking almost an hour to finish. After Elizabeth stood up, Alice looked at her with eyes brimming with tears. "Elizabeth, is Nola okay? Seeing you reminds me of her."
Elizabeth pressed her lips together, falling silent.
Nola was not okay.
Before coming back, she had visited Nola in the hospital.
After years of treatment, as soon as Elizabeth opened the door, Nola started screaming. "Run, Elizabeth, that man is going to hit you! Don't let him catch you. I'm here!"
But there was no one behind Elizabeth.
She silently closed the door, and Nola suddenly rolled off the bed in fear, hiding under it, muttering, "I didn't cheat, and I didn't kill anyone! Don't hit me, I'm not crazy."
She started hitting herself, and Elizabeth, heartbroken, had reddened eyes as she walked forward and held her tightly.
The once elegant daughter of the Skye family, Nola, who had countless men chasing after her, was now emaciated, with mostly white hair, looking like a skeleton.
Elizabeth gritted her teeth, tears mixed with hatred in her eyes. "Mom, it's me. Don't worry! I'll make everyone who hurt us pay!"
Nola finally calmed down, clutching her hand and falling asleep.
Elizabeth lay on the bed, holding her frail body, staying for a long time before leaving.
This time, Emily, one of the culprits who hurt Nola, wouldn't have it easy!
She would make Emily and Jessa pay dearly!
