Chapter 2

Calliope felt like her luck had run out. Her status and position made her a target for repeated humiliation. Her eyes reddened, but she stubbornly refused to let the tears fall.

"Jack's illegitimate daughter? No wonder he sent you to my bed."

Sylvester's strong arm pressed down on the struggling Calliope. He wore a dark blue shirt that made him look even more stylish than a model, with a few buttons undone, exuding a sexy and rebellious aura.

He smirked condescendingly, like a king looking down on a struggling ant.

"Do you know how to moan?"

Sylvester gave Calliope a lazy once-over from behind his shades, a smirk playing on his lips.

Calliope snapped, "What's that supposed to mean?"

Calliope locked eyes with him, her stance screaming she wasn't about to back down. But his smug attitude was driving her nuts.

She'd already lost everything; did she really need to put up with this jerk too?

She stared him down, unflinching.

Her defiance just made Sylvester's grin widen. "I'm not into hookers who can't even moan, got it?"

"You're the hooker! Your whole damn family's full of them!"

His cocky tone and smirk made her blood boil. She hated being called a prostitute more than anything!

The hallway was deserted; Sylvester's goons had cleared it out ages ago. Her fiery glare just made him laugh harder.

He grabbed her chin like she was some kind of plaything. "Never seen such a feisty hooker before. Interesting."

"You!"

She swung her hand to slap him, but he caught it like it was nothing. His chin lifted, eyes glinting with menace.

"Think you can hit me? Not a chance."

Then he leaned in close, whispering in her ear with that same arrogant sneer. "To me, all the Gray family women are just hookers. Doesn't matter who I marry; they're just bed warmers."

Her furious look made her seem like a little mouse, which only intrigued him more.

Sylvester couldn't help but wonder if marrying Calliope would be a fun game.

He easily restrained her raised hand. His warm breath and a hint of mint filled the air around her. She was fuming, but she couldn't help but laugh inside when he said, "The Gray family women are all hookers."

Even though Sylvester was always a jerk, he finally said something true.

Of course, she didn't see herself as part of the Gray family, and they probably didn't want her either.

Just as she was about to retort, the woman in the suit from earlier showed up with bodyguards, standing by Sylvester's side.

The woman glanced at Calliope, a flicker of surprise in her eyes, but she respectfully said to Sylvester, "Sir, we should go."

Sylvester straightened up, let go of her wrist, and went back to his lofty act. In front of everyone, he put his hand on Calliope's waist, his lips close to her ear, making them look all cozy to anyone watching.

But his words were infuriating.

"Go tell Jack that if you and Vivian join me in bed, I'll be more satisfied."

His warm breath tickled her ear. It was her first close encounter with a guy, and it felt weird. But hearing his words, she couldn't help but turn to look at him. Through his shades, she could vaguely see cold, almond-shaped eyes and sharp features. His privileged upbringing was written all over him. This was Sylvester? The ultimate scumbag!

Everyone knew the rebellious Sylvester was sick, but no one knew what was wrong with him. They just knew he wouldn't live long, which was his karma!

With his almost perfect genes and high-class background, he constantly pushed the limits. Some hated him, some despised him, and of course, some liked him. Online, his fans called him "the most handsome scumbag rich kid."

Calliope had never dealt with such a rich heir before. Now, she got how twisted and evil Sylvester was. He was a devil!

Sylvester let go of her, striding past the bodyguards towards the end of the hallway. The woman following him asked worriedly, "Sir, John wants you to go home immediately. Next..."

Sylvester interrupted her, "Next, I'm looking forward to seeing who'll be my wife."

That casual voice was deep and magnetic, but his face was full of disdain and disgust.

If it weren't for John's orders, neither Calliope nor Vivian would be worth the dirt on his shoes. These chicks were all scheming, trying to latch onto a rich family!

Calliope leaned against the wall, watching the tall, handsome figure strut down the hallway. A trace of disdain flickered in her eyes as she muttered, "Marry you? I'd rather die!"
