The undead king and his mate

Penelope was the average woman, living life as a scientist and spent her free time trying to find a way to live in space when on day the world as she knew it ended. The undead invaded, killing everyone it found, when she thought it was her time fate had other plans. Marked by the undead king to be his mate, she tries to run and avoid being held in captivity as his wife. After a long time of running and plenty of fighting and hiding, Penelope becomes the Queen of the undead, achieving what she only dreamed of as a result.
