Is It Love?

Malena Milly

“You want me to go…where?”

I look at ET1 Kane, my supposed lover, a man who is supposed to really care about me, and I can't help but stare at him with my mouth open. He has to be joking.

“Back to the castle, darling,” he says with a quick shrug as if he's not telling me to go straight back to the death trap I just escaped from, I barely escaped at that moment. “You need to go back there and convince Gene that you've been framed. Tell him that they unjustly imprisoned you while ET1 Tristan acted as king and made you look like you had something to do with the Matriarch's disappearance! “Remind him that you are on his side!”

“But…” I begin, I can’t even consider what it will be like to return to that castle. He did everything he could to get out of there, including killing and kidnapping, but now, he wants me to come back.

“Come on, honey,” he said, reaching out to run his thumb over my cheek. "This is important. “I wouldn’t ask just anyone to do it.”

Something about the way he looks at me makes my breath hitch, my knees weak. I can barely inhale. He's not the best lover I've ever had. He is not the most handsome man I have ever loved. He's not the most loving man I've ever been with, he's not even the most powerful or richest. But there's something about the way he looks at me when he wants me to do something that makes me shiver.

“You will, right, darling? For me?" His warm breath caresses my neck, and I can barely stop myself from grabbing him and falling into the huge four-poster bed that has no business being in a tent.

I bite my bottom lip, trying to convince myself that this is a bad idea, but then, my head starts to sway from side to side, and I realize that I'm accepting this.

What the hell is wrong with me?

“Thank you so much, honey,” he says. “I will have my best guards escort you to the secret tunnel that leads under the wall and back to the castle. You will come out near the throne room.”

I look at him in disbelief, not sure if I really heard everything he said correctly. “But… if you knew about a secret tunnel that goes to the castle, why the hell are you attacking the outside of the castle?”

“Because,” he says in a sarcastic tone as he crosses his arms over his muscular chest, “there's a lock on the door, and until you escaped, we didn't have the keys. If we tried to knock it down, it would have been noisy, and the king would have heard. "He would have sent his men to kill us, and it would have been easy because we would have left the hallway in single file." He rolls his eyes like I'm the stupidest person to ever walk the face of the earth.

I can think of many reasons why that is actually the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but when I look at it, I can't formulate a response. I feel wet again, my core tightening. “Do you think we have time to...? another… encounter?” I ask, my words coming out almost as pants as my body is drawn towards him.

“You like pen..., right?” he asks me, raising an eyebrow as she nods slowly. “All women like the pen....”

I get the idea when you say —the pen...— you mean your own pen... and not just pen...es in general. I can't answer that either, but I want to.

My tongue darts out to moisten my lips, and I reach out to slide my hand down his muscular bicep, but he steps away from me, returning to the pants he'd taken off earlier. “Sorry, honey, we don't have time right now.” He takes out the keys that were in the pocket of the guard's uniform he was wearing earlier. “Here are the keys to the door.”

“How do you know those are the keys to the exact door you need to enter?” I can't imagine that King Gene would allow every guard to carry a key to such an important door.

“Because one of them says, 'master key,'” he says with a shrug.

“But…what if that just means a master key to the dungeon?” I'm really not convinced that these keys will allow me to enter the castle. But who am I to deny something to my lover?

It's like he's cast some kind of spell on me!

“I'm sure that key will work, honey,” she says, and I love it when she calls me honey. “Now, let me escort you to your escort who will take you to the tunnel entrance.” She gives me a smoldering look, and my knees bend of her own volition.

I'll have to change to make the trip, so I lean forward and kiss him once more, savoring the feel of his mouth on mine. "Will you respond faster to my mental links this time, darling?" I ask.

“You got it, baby,” he says, and then he takes the keychain and puts it in my mouth.

I guess that's my cue to change.

I take my ET form and walk out with him, keys hanging from my mouth. Six large male ET´s are there, waiting to take me to the tunnel.

Kane reaches down and strokes the fur on the top of my head. "I really appreciate this, babe." You're so loyal, so fierce, so... cool. I think he might be in love with you, baby.

His voice is so soft, even my ET wants to drop his chest to the ground so he can ride me. I look at him, and he smiles at me, and I want to use the mental link to tell him that I love him too. I want to believe that when this is all over, the two of us will run into the sunset, paw to paw, to start a new life together, maybe even have babies...

"Be careful, Betty." Kane caresses me once more and walks away from her, leaving me crumbling inside.

Betty?

The idiot thinks my name is Betty???

I shouldn't do this! I should turn around and walk away. I should just go. He does not love me! He doesn't even know my fuc... name!

The other six males are already around me, however, so I have no choice but to move on. I go with them, trying not to cry. There is nothing stranger than a crying ET.

We jogged for a few kilometers before stopping in front of a hole in the ground. At first, I can't tell that it's really a tunnel opening, but when I stick my head in to check, one of the ET´s pushes me.

I land on the cold, hard ground in a heap, dropping the keys. I cast a sidelong glance at the other ET´s, who are now about six feet above my head. I could get out, but not with all of them standing there. It feels like I've been pushed into my own grave.

Fortunately, there is a tunnel. It's narrow, and I'll have to be careful because the ceiling is only a few inches above my head. It makes the tunnels in the castle look warm and cozy.

I can't go back now, so I return to the miserable place I just escaped from, the keys back in my mouth.

As I move forward, the tunnel widens, so I increase my speed. It's pitch black here. The sun can't reach here. But my ET eyes help me navigate. It doesn't take me long to reach the door in question.

I take a deep breath and change into my human form, removing the keys from my mouth. It's made of thick wood, and although the wear and tear of being underground for probably hundreds of years has worn it down a bit, it's still sturdy.

With a deep breath, I take the master key and slide it into the lock and turn it.

No problem. The key barely moves.

"Are you fuc... with me?!" I scream. He tries again, moving her harder, but nothing happens. Frustrated, he pulled it out and looked back. If I go back, will the ET´s still be there, or have they returned with Kane? I don't want to find out. The trip is too far to continue going from one place to another.

I try another key, but that one doesn't work either. I try all the keys. Not a single one does anything!

Outraged and frustrated, I let my head fall against the door as tears blur my vision.

Suddenly, I lunge forward as I hear a crackling sound in my ears. I almost fell on my face when the door opened!
