Chapter 8 – Confrontations

Alpha Jason arrived back at his mansion, the familiar scent of the Moon Crest Pack surrounding him like a heavy blanket. As he stepped inside, he noticed Mila, one of the servants, waiting at the entrance with a serious expression.

"Alpha Jason," she said respectfully, bowing her head. "Nathalie is here. She’s begging to talk to you."

Jason frowned, his brow furrowing in concern. "Where is she?" he asked, his voice low and serious.

Mila took a moment before answering. "She’s in your office on the first floor. She said she wouldn’t leave until she spoke to you. She’s crying, so I asked her to wait there."

"Good," Jason replied, relieved that Mila had the sense not to let Nathalie go to his study on the second floor. "I don’t want anyone I don’t trust in my personal space. It is good you lead her to the first-floor office."

Mila nodded and gestured for him to follow. As they walked through the elegantly decorated halls, Alpha Jason’s mind raced with possibilities. Nathalie was trouble, and he had no desire to entertain whatever nonsense she was about to spew.

When they reached the office, Alpha Jason pushed open the door and stepped inside. There, sitting on a chair with tears streaming down her face, was Nathalie. She quickly wiped her eyes and stood, bowing her head respectfully. "Alpha Jason, I’m so sorry for coming here without an appointment. I just need to talk to you."

He crossed his arms, his expression stern. "Even without an appointment, I now know you came to my mansion without my consent."

Nathalie’s eyes widened slightly, and she tried to maintain her composure. "Jerome—he’s the one who told me I could come," she lied, her voice shaky.

Jason’s gaze hardened. "What do you want, Nathalie?"

With a trembling breath, she sat back down and tried to appear as innocent as possible. "I want to talk about Jerome. We have a relationship, and I need him to be responsible for me."

Jason raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Responsible? What do you mean?"

Nathalie leaned forward, tears welling up again. "We’ve slept together many times. I could be pregnant, or even if I’m not, Jerome needs to take responsibility for what we have done. The pack will scrutinize me and judge me if he doesn’t."

A sharp laugh escaped Jason’s lips, filled with sarcasm. "How dare you come here and ask me to make my son responsible for you? You’ve done a great sin against our pack. You cheated and betrayed Emily, the daughter of Delta Patrick. Why on earth do you think I would help you?"

Nathalie’s face fell, shock washing over her. "I... I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I love Jerome, and I know he loved me too!"

"Love?" Jason scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. "You think love is enough to excuse your actions? You think coming here and trying to manipulate me will get you sympathy? You’ve crossed a line, Nathalie."

Nathalie shrank back in her chair, her bravado fading. "I know I made a mistake, but I need your help, Alpha. I can’t let the pack judge me. Please."

Jason leaned closer, his voice low and dangerous. "You need to understand something: your actions have consequences. You may want my son’s help, but what you’ve done to Emily is unforgivable. I will not stand by while you try to make this right for yourself at her expense."

She swallowed hard, fear creeping into her eyes. "But if Jerome doesn’t acknowledge me, I’ll be an outcast! You can’t let that happen!"

The room fell silent, the tension thick as Jason regarded her. "What you want is not my concern. You need to face the consequences of your choices. Do you think I will allow my son to be with you after what you did?"

Nathalie’s desperation grew palpable. "Please, Alpha! I can’t go back to the pack like this. I’ll be shunned forever. Just talk to Jerome! He needs to take responsibility!"

Jason shook his head. "I will not force my son to make a choice he doesn’t want. If he cared about you, he wouldn’t have put you in this situation in the first place. You need to take a hard look at what you’ve done."

Just then, the door swung open, and Jerome stepped in, looking both surprised and concerned. "Dad? What’s going on?"

Nathalie jumped to her feet, her tears still fresh. "Jerome! I was just talking to your father. You need to help me. I can’t face the pack alone."

Jerome’s eyes darted between his father and Nathalie, confusion etched on his face. "Help you with what?"

Nathalie’s voice quivered as she spoke, "I need you to be responsible for what we did. I could be pregnant, and I don’t want to be outcast. You have to tell your father that you care about me!"

Jason watched his son closely, his expression stern. "Jerome, you need to be careful about the choices you make. Do you really want to be with her? This is serious."

Jerome hesitated, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. "I... I don’t know, Dad. I didn’t plan for any of this."

Nathalie stepped closer, desperation flooding her features. "You do care about me, right? We have something real. You can’t let your father control our lives!"

Alpha Jason took a deep breath, sensing the tension in the air. "Jerome, listen to me. Whatever happens next, you need to understand the weight of your decisions. You can’t take this lightly."

Jerome glanced at his father, then back at Nathalie, clearly torn. "I... I never wanted this to happen. I didn’t mean to hurt Emily. But Nathalie and I, we—"

Jason cut him off. "No excuses, son. You need to decide what you want, and know that your choices will have repercussions."

Nathalie reached out, grabbing Jerome’s hand. "Please, don’t let them do this to us! You have to stand by me!"

Jason’s gaze narrowed, sensing the tension rising. "Jerome, make your choice wisely. You could lose everything if you pick the wrong path."

As the three of them stood in the office, the weight of decisions hung heavy in the air, and the gravity of their situation loomed over them like a dark cloud. Jerome’s face contorted with confusion, and Nathalie’s grip tightened, her desperation intense.
