"No! Don't say that to yourself! You love your father so much and would never do such a thing!" A soft female voice came into my head.

At first, I thought that it was my inner self trying to get me to fight back. But too bad that I had always given up and I continued to close my eye.

That was until I felt a slight touch on my shoulders. Only this time, it felt real sending a strange electric chill throughout my body.

"How's this even possible?" A thought a little bit confused.

The confusion and curiosity that sensored through my body eventually pushed me to open my eyes slowly as they met with that of Nana, the pack chef.

I was a little bit taken aback with shock, knowing that we had barely said a word to each other for as long as I could remember. Was this all of Alpha Henry's doing again? But something in me told me that there was more to it. She touched me slightly once again and continued.

"You didn't kill your parents Elena! Believe me when I say that!"

My eyes twitched slightly at her words. Even though I could say that I barely knew her, I appreciated those words. With everyone singing it into my ears, I was beginning to i believe it myself.

"I'm sorry that it had to be like this Elena. I knew your mother, first as a midwife and then as a friend! She has always loved you and one thing that I know, you will never hurt them!"

"I wish that I could say more but you are already running out of time. You need to find your mate!" She said.

I wanted to ask her more questions until I heard her groan slightly. Using her bare hands to try and pull off the chains made her skin burn slightly.

My heart was in pain and I wanted to stop her but her smile froze my words until finally she was done.

Wasn't she afraid of what the Alpha was going to do to her when he finds out what she had done? He could even kill her.

I was still frightened for her, looking at her face with rising emotions.

"Go now! I'm alright! Just find your mate and everything else will come easily!" She smiled at me.

I could barely take my bath. Even with the amount of work that I had been made to go through daily, I made sure that I didn't stink for sure.

I had just fifteen more minutes to the ball before it would all be over. The moon was overhead but I didn't have to worry about not shifting.

Even when I eventually got there, it was crowded with all sorts of people. The proposal, wedding rings, people all crying, it was all magical and beautiful.

I wished that I was spared a few minutes to watch this amazing gift that the moon goddess had given to the Werewolves but I had to go.

"Excuse! Excuse please!" I edged through the crowd, sniffing the air like a mad lady in search of the mate's scent.

I was frightened to the extent that my legs shook. Knowing that I had already taken a very dangerous risk coming to this place, I just had to find my mate or it was going to be all over for me.

Almost going through every single list of everyone in the crowd, I was beginning to get worried. It seemed like my mate wasn't even here.

It wasn't possible. Maybe I didn't check it out well. My mate just had to be somewhere around here.

In my desperation, I could barely see properly. My vision was already crowded by the thoughts that I had in my head.

That was until eventually, I bumped into someone, throwing her off to the ground. My heart skipped a few beats as I quickly reached out to this person to help her off the floor.

Until I saw that face that made every single living cell in my body freeze. Who else could I be apart from my nightmare, Kate?

A large gulp went down my spine knowing how much of a trouble I had gotten myself into. I had to run for it or I would be doomed forever.

Taking off on my feet was the first thing that I did to give myself a head start. And coupled with the amount of people there.

I could hear the shout of the conference pack security agency right behind me and calling out my name at the same time.

Running through the crowd and sniffing at the same time was one of the most difficult things for me to do. However, I tried until I found myself in the empty locker room, with the two bathrooms by my sides. I was stuck.

Tears ran through my eyes as I eventually realized that there wasn't a mate of mine among the crowd of people that were gathered around that place.

The pattern of feet already running closer. With the knowledge that my mate wasn't there or didn't even exist at all, there was no need for me to run anymore.

The only thought that was in my head at the moment was to turn around and give myself up to these people.

However, that voice in my head kept on telling me to hide. Just because I could not find my mate didn't mean that I could not escape from their cruel hands.

I was going to find my way out of the pack, away from these groups of heartless and ruthless people. But first, I had to make sure that I was not caught.

My reflexes suddenly kicked in. Amid my desperation to save my skin, I didn't even bother to venture into the gender that was supposed to owe this place.

Rather, I slid the door right open and I met a strange man with a towel around his waist. My world seemed to collapse right before me in an instant and I froze.

It was difficult for me not to take a quick grasp at the perfectly layered tricep and biceps and the hairy line at the center of his stomach.

"Are you going to stare at me all day?" An angry male voice jolted me back into consciousness.

My heart beating roughly in a drum roll. I had an evil outside and one standing right here with me. I had to decide which of these I would want to face.

And for the years of my experience, I knew that I had to avoid the evil that was outside as much as I could.

With quivering lips, I opened my mouth in an attempt to force myself to speak.

"I'm very sorry for coming here, sir. I had a bit of a situation outside that I could not avoid. Please don't send me out and I pro.. mise!" I suddenly paused at those words as I looked at the face of the person that I had met in the bathroom.

A sudden sense of familiarity washed up all over me as I paired into the eyes of the one that I had been looking for.

And for these moments, I felt so at peace. The only thing that I was with my late parents, was my heart rolling over with excitement..

"Mate!" I muttered once again. Those were the most passionate words that I had muttered in quite a while.
