Chapter 3: Catch Her

Emma's POV

I forced my half closed eyes to stare at the person in front of me. My vision was blurry, but I tried to refocus my gaze on the man who had the sorted touch.

My heart skipped a beat and my face contorted. I was disgusted the moment I narrowed my gaze at him. He placed his hand on my shoulder and held me tightly, his concerned eyes stared down at me.

"Are you okay? Should I call someone to check that for you?" Hudson looked down on the wounds inflicted on me. His tone… they made me furious and I gritted my teeth in anger.

What was he doing here? Why was he looking at me like that? I could tell that he had a motive for being here. The way he was acting now didn't quite match the angry look I saw on his face the day I rejected him.

"Fucking take your hands off me, you asshole!" I growled at him and I coughed as my voice felt dry and raspy.

"Shh, I don't intend to hurt you, Emma. I came here immediately after I heard what happened to you. I know that you despise me after what happened that day, and I want you to know that I don't hate you for it. I've forgiven you and I even promise to get you out of here as well," he said with a soothing tone.

His voice sounded like the devil whispering in my ear. However, his words pissed me off. "What did you just say?" I asked, my voice hoarse and my body stung with pain.

"I said I'd free you from my parent's grip, and there's no need to apologize to me. I know you only did that because you were angry and about the rejection, I have forgiven you already and I hold nothing against you," he repeated.

I chuckled at him, clenching my fists in agony. "You must be really dumb. I heard you the first time, but you felt the need to repeat such utter nonsense to me," I taunted. "You think I care about your forgiveness?" I snapped indignantly.

"Of course, I know you're still angry at me, but I'd like to put that beside us. I want to free you from this dungeon because I know you would rather not be here," he reasoned as he tightened his hold on my shoulder.

He would free me from this dungeon? I knew it was wrong of me to even give a thought to whatever he was saying, but I couldn't help but consider his words. "Y-you'll do that?" I asked with uncertainty and he nodded his head.

"Yes, I will but that's under one condition though," he added just before I could sigh in relief. "You'll have to be mine again, Emma. Be my little plaything, and I'll set you free," he tried to make it enticing as he slowly loosened the surrounding rope, but my blood boiled in anger.

Be his plaything? He even dared to say it to my face. I felt pain, shame, and anger. I wanted to hit that face of his and cause him more pain than what was inflicted on me. Unable to control the anger inside of me, I shook free from his grip and without realizing, I freed my hand and punched him right on his face.

I pulled away from the post with all my strength. Hudson suddenly reached for my arm, but I kicked him on his crotch, twisted his arm and pushed him across the room. I heard the sound of something fall as he collided with a table.

The door was wide open and there were no guards around. This was an opportunity, so without waiting for another dreadful moment, I charged towards the door and ran through the door and the cold air hit my skin in all directions as I continued racing through the path that led to my freedom.

My legs were trembling as the pain shot through my pain as I continued to force myself to go beyond the breaking point. My arms were hurting, and my back was hurting due to the brutality I had faced earlier. I felt dizziness wash over me, but I couldn't stop running now.

"Catch her! She's over there. Make sure you get her, you hear me?" I heard the voice of the guards from behind me as they chased after me.

I tried to run as fast as I could but they were already catching up on me and no matter how I struggled to move my body, it wasn't obeying my command.

My body was slowly growing weaker, and I was running winded. My heart pounded in my chest, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps as I glanced over my shoulder, the feeling of dread growing with each passing moment. I had never felt a fear like this before. It was as if every instinct in my body was screaming at me to run, to get as far away as possible as I raced through the maze-like forest, my only goal to survive this nightmarish ordeal.

Suddenly a felt something burning deep inside. It was more than a rush Adrenaline coursing through veins. It felt like a surge of energy revitalized me and renewing my strength. I suddenly felt stronger and my body moved faster than before. I could feel the wind blowing my hair off my face as I ran faster through the forest and away from them.

The treading sound no longer echoing from behind and far across me I could see the boundary of the border. My pace quickened and my new aim was to get beyond the boundary. They won't infiltrate outside the Pack's border and I kept running faster until I finally went beyond Pack's border.

The energy slowly dropped and my pace slowed down while struggled to breathe. My body was became weaker and I almost stumbled. Stopping close to a large tree, I tried to catch my breath but the world spun around me. I quickly sat behind the large tree as I took in deep breaths but the sound of my heart beat flooded my ears. The dizziness increased as darkness drew me in and soon I was unable to keep my eyes open. I finally give in to the darkness.
