CHAPTER 4 Who Was This Person?
Daisy's POV
I soaked myself in the burning bath Amaya had prepared, thinking about how my life had changed, I thought I could have it all, the perfect family with Alaric and my sister happily by my side but I guess it was a just dream that would never come through.
The only thing that makes sense in my life right now is this soothing bath.
After spending what felt like an eternity in the bathtub, I reached for the towel as I stood and wrapped it around my chest, I took one quick look at myself in the mirror before heading to the bedroom.
"You look dazzling Daisy Fairchild," I heard a familiar voice say as soon as I step foot into the bedroom. What is Alaric doing? Why is he here?
"What do you want from me Alaric," I whispered with a trembling voice, I folded my hands around my chest in a protective manner.
"I want you in my bed, Daisy," he replied as he stood up from the bed, and walked towards me.
"Delilah might be my Luna but that doesn't stop us from messing around."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked looking confused but deep down I knew where he was driving.
"Oh common Daisy, stop pretending like you don't know what I am talking about, what we shared that night was special," Alaric said with a devilish smile on his face.
"What we shared that night was a mistake," I corrected because that's what it was to me.
I could feel the rage gushing through me as he stood in front of me caressing my body but I knew my anger wouldn't save me in this situation, nothing would.
"Please Alaric, just let me go, I don't want this," I pleaded softly, that's the only reasonable thing for me to do.
"No!" he yelled out loud as he grabbed my towel and pulled it from my chest.
I tried to cover my naked body but it was of no use, Alaric pushed me to the bed and came on top of me, all efforts to stop him were fruitless.
"Please, I beg of you," I plead and plead but Alaric still had his way.
While all this was happening I noticed a figure at the door but then the figure retreated immediately.
I wonder who that was.
"With time you both will get used to it but for now not a word about this to your sister" he warned before leaving the room, I could hear the sound of the door being locked from the outside.
I sat at the corner of the room crying, I couldn't believe the man who I had adored all my life was a monster, this wasn't the life I envisioned for myself. I can't continue to live like this, I have to find a way to escape from this hell hole.
Suddenly the light in the room went off, I stood up immediately trying to figure out what was happening when the door to my room was creeping open.
He is back? I thought to myself.
I mustered a little courage and walked towards the door but to my surprise, no one was there but something else caught my attention.
The hallway was empty, which was unusual because it was normally filled with guards. I wandered towards the end of the hallway, but still, no one was there,
"Who is there?" I asked but no responses, suddenly I saw a figure similar to the one I saw earlier but just like before it vanished before I could make out who it was.
At this point I couldn't help but feel like someone did this on purpose, is either the person is trying to help me escape or I am walking into a trap.
Either way, I am ready to take my chances so I kept walking till I was out of the place.
The moment I got to the outskirts of the pack, adrenaline surged through me, propelling me to run as fast as my legs could carry me. The urgency to escape Alaric's grasp consumed my mind, my only goal was to put as much distance between us as possible. However, amidst the chaos, a distant roar caught my attention, momentarily pulling me from my singular focus.
Ignoring the unsettling sound, I pushed myself to run even faster, each step echoing the pounding of my heart. But just as I thought I had a chance at freedom, a sudden movement from the bushes halted me in my tracks. Before I could react, a wild animal leaped out, its eyes filled with primal hunger, and in an instant, it was upon me.
Fear gripped me like a vice, freezing me in place as the creature's weight bore down on me. The world spun in a dizzying blur, my heart racing in terror, and then darkness enveloped me as I succumbed to unconsciousness, the last remnants of my fight for freedom slipping away.
I blinked my eyes repeatedly trying to adjust it to the sunlight piercing through the widow.
The moment my eyes fluttered open, confusion clouded my mind. Was I in a dream, or was this place truly different?
The last thing I remember was that scary animal attacking me, so how did I end up here? What is going on?
Struggling to sit up, a firm and icy grip pressed me back down, sending a shiver of fear down my spine.
My gaze lifted to meet the source of the restraint, and there, staring back at me, were the most captivating deep blue eyes I had ever seen, eyes that seemed to hold stories untold, mysteries waiting to be unraveled.
The intensity of those eyes locked with mine, drawing me in like a moth to a flame. Time seemed to stand still as I found myself lost in their depths, a strange mix of fear and fascination swirling within me.
Who was this person with the piercing gaze that seemed to see through to my very soul?
