Chapter 7: Crashing landing with you
Narrator's POV
Her presence distracted him as Ray was neither close by to take control.
She shot at him with shaky hands and he duck his head to avoid it while struggling to pull the lever.
It seems as though she wasn't good at it and accidentally hit a fuse close to him. Then the lights went off.
Everything here was dark and the emergency alarm began to blast. Then he heard her retracting footsteps.
"Oh no!" He panics placing the ship on autopilot while racing to chase after her but he slammed his face with one of the crew.
"Watch your path!" He queries as the crew flinches.
"I'm sorry about that" he apologized struggling to pull out the electrons stuck on his arms to fire at her.
Evander punched him on the face and reminded;
"Not a scratch on her!"
Hastily, one of the crew moves the maneuvering thrusters which were small liquid-fuel rockets, used to flip, rotate or roll the ship.
They were installed around the ship's hull in clusters facing all directions, and supported by gyroscopes.
Unfortunately, it was damaged and it effect the ship's maneuvering.
Ray moves to the modular sections facilitate the quick removal and attachment of specialized equipment and systems for the sake of versatility, quick repairs because the ship was having faults.
Evander gave tactical orders on how to steady the ship while he finds the girl.
The astrogator calculates the course for jump, as he was a secondary communications Officer.
He was trying to reach to the headquarters.
The communication and information officer who was nerve-center of the ship was suddenly lost.
The gunner among them who controls the ship's weapons frighteningly released the weapons just for the crew to shoot at the impeding danger.
He was covered in blood and could swear it that the girl they captured was the cause for this dilemma.
The chief engineer tried to controls the ship's power and engine but it keeps failing.
Evander breaths hard, trying to stay under control as nothing was going on fine. He heard their whispers as all hands were on deck to keep the ship in order.
They were talking about her! Terrified and puzzled. He couldn't decipher their words as he needed to find her.
The ship was getting damaged.
"I swear it, she blast the door open and trapped us in a vacuum" The gunner narrates.
"I knew she was dangerous, I shouldn't have attempted to kiss her" the astrogator confesses grumbling and running pass evander.
"Can't we just kill her?" Ray muses and Evander walked away.
Evander's eyes suddenly found her shadow lurking around a cabin close to him. Sweat beads on his face as he was tensed and somewhat petrified.
No one has made him this close to facing fear itself.
His eyes noted where she took the last turn which was inside a cabin. He folded his fist, grab a swimming screw and swam his body through the gravitational force.
The atomic engines were having an issue.
It was damaged and suffer a meltdown and the crew were trying to disengaged them from the hull or they would flood the decks with dangerous levels of radiation.
Ray hastily ran to meet Evander who was trying to open the cabin where he saw her last.
"What happened?" He questioned as Ray joins him.
"I don't know how she did that but she created a magnetic force and we got glued to metals" he narrates as the lights had now come on.
"Something came out of her hands and..."
He didn't complete his statement when an iron riffle through his hair but fortunately, he wasn't cut.
The warning alarm blast the more and Evander instructed Ray to handle the engines, the control panels precisely.
The ship went in circles and objects began to float in the air.
Luckily, he was able to blast the door open and found her curl herself to a corner, weeping.
"Please don't kill me!" She pleads and he quickly pulled her out as fire blares off from that part of the ship.
Her body ram on his. His arms went around her waist as he glares at her.
They exchanged breath and that wasn't a moment of intensity as more problems were at hand.
She suck her breath as her arms accidentally ran around his neck. She shyly looked away.
Hastily, he took a floating belt to tie her with him because he sense she was corny and would escape his claws.
"If only you'd just stick to sleeping!" He barks floating with her.
"How? I don't even know you and you abducted me!" She cried and he groaned. Do all humans cry when they speak?
An object was almost hitting her but he was quick to reach her, pulling her into his arms, he float with her beneath the engine room.
She was running out of breath and fortunately, a bag of oxygen tank was close by. He made her sit down as she was almost going breathless.
"Am I going to die?" She wizzle out of her lips, gasping heavily, her eyes rolling to and fro. Her heart might stop beating.
"Hey...look at me, just take a deep breath" he assured fixed the oxygen mask on her. Her hand grip him firmly.
He intended to leave her but then she said;
"Please, don't leave me again" she mutters as her body rested on the hull.
He gulps hard as she wasn't letting go of him. Her plaintive voice rings in his ears. Her piteous face made him jinxed.
He was apprehensive and she fretted. Evander was forced to stay back.
"It's okay" he assured rubbing her hair as she was slowly regaining her breath. Her eyes were fixed on him. It wasn't as though he meant that.
If she wouldn't cause any further destructions, then he never minds acting to keep her in one place.
Her eyes were teary yet desired to trust him, following his every instructions.
He embraced her and her body was glued to his. He felt his heartbeat just as it was when he first set his eyes on her.
He couldn't tell why.
Meanwhile, The two men from earlier found Evander trying to protect her from being crushed by the objects.
Hastily, they float towards were he was. They never trusted this man and had thoughts he'd stow away with her.
They pointed their guns at him and threatens.
"Hand over the girl!" The first order struggling to stand firmly while the second was holding on to the hull as gush of air trap into his lung.
Hastily, he stood up with her and she stayed behind him.
He heard her pant louder from behind him. Her hands were holding on to his shirt, they tremble with fear.
Left for him, he'd hand her over but his life was on the line too.
"And then what? You leave with her and abandon the rest of the crew?" Evander muses as though he was fighting for others.
"Fuck! We're going to crash! anyway" The second man yells pointing a gun at Evander who was holding firmly to his shirt. Her touch was becoming hotter and a whirl wind was coming from her end.
He suddenly felt her body vibrating and the bullet runs at him with full force but then, something happened.
The ship suddenly shut down and it fell with full force, pulling out the hulls. He couldn't feel her near anymore and he shut his eyes.
They were crashing!
