Chapter 12 The Penis is Thin, Short, and Soft

Until now, I still wasn't a young married woman, and Sophia was still bored with her work.

Sophia did manage to keep me entertained, and I started thinking about the future.

I quickly hired a moving company to get all my stuff from Smith Manor to my parents' house. Luckily, Isabella and Aiden weren't around. I told the movers to hurry up and then headed home.

I also called my boss to ask if I could work from home.

My boss was like, "Which designer in our company works from home? I can't make an exception just for you!"

"Alright, then I guess I'll have to quit. If you ever need design outsourcing in the future, hit me up, and I'll give you a 20% discount." I didn't push it.

The company had two other designers, and if I worked from home, they'd probably have something to say about it.

After quitting, I could do freelance work and cover my basic living expenses.

Half of the savings my parents left me had already been given to me by Isabella when I turned twenty. Just the interest from that was enough to live on.

My boss blurted out, "Don't quit, Emily! Your work in the design department has always been top-notch. Especially since you're close with Mr. Smith, losing you would be a big hit for us! How about this: I'll tell everyone you have some family stuff going on and need to work from home for a while. You can come back later. How does that sound?"

I agreed. After some time, even if things hadn't settled down, I figured Ava would cause a scene in front of Aiden and Isabella because of the baby she was carrying. By then, they'd be too busy to bother me.

I didn't plan to leave for good; I just wanted to stay at another house my parents left in the suburbs for a while.

It was a suburban villa, super quiet. Aiden and Isabella had people regularly take care of the lawn, garden, and cleaning.

I heard that the occupancy rate in that villa community was only about half, mostly retired elderly folks, so I should be able to enjoy some peace and quiet there.

Aiden and Isabella only knew I moved my stuff to the house in the city; they didn't know I moved into the suburban villa that very night.

This villa was about twenty years old. Even though someone came to maintain it every month, there were still some weeds in the cracks of the ground.

I had bought some herbicide in advance and sprayed it on the weeds in the cracks. I roughly pulled out the weeds on the lawn, and I guessed the maintenance people would come in a few days.

The yard looked much better, and I felt a bit tired. Sitting on the second-floor terrace, drinking tea and looking at the yard, I thought of some vague childhood memories and felt a bit complicated.

There were some vegetables planted in the backyard, probably by the maintenance folks, and they were growing well.

Suddenly, music started playing in the distance. I looked at the sky; were the elderly here starting their exercises this early?

I saw elderly people gradually coming out and walking towards the source of the music.

I thought for a moment and got up to check it out.

An enthusiastic elderly person didn't seem to be in a hurry and walked slowly with me, chatting, "When did such a beautiful young lady move into our community? I heard the Wilson family's son is about to retire from the military. Are you the girl they tried to set him up with?"
