Chapter 5

Jasper's eyes brightened, and he nodded honestly.

Bianca responded, "Then it's right."

She took a mirror from her bag, showing their faces. She said, "Look, don't we look a bit alike? Especially the eyes?"

Jasper leaned in, blinking. They did look a bit alike, but how did he not know he had a sister?

Seeing Jasper's confused face, Bianca took out a gemstone necklace from her bag. She asked, "Jasper, do you have one of these too?"

Seeing the necklace, Jasper nodded continuously.

Jasper checked out the necklace, just like the one he kept in his nightstand.

Jasper had once asked Olivia about the necklace's origin. Olivia had told him it was a gift from someone super important. Since then, he preserved it carefully.

Jasper reached out to touch Bianca's necklace. It felt cold but oddly familiar.

Bianca's eyes lit up with a smile. "Jasper, you don't know, do you? These necklaces are a pair. They belong to Mommy. She said when we were born, we always stuck together, so she gave us each one."

Jasper listened closely. When Bianca finished, he asked, "Mommy? So, your mommy is my mommy too?"

Bianca nodded eagerly. "Yep! We're twins. Our parents split up early, and you went with Dad while I stayed with Mommy."

Bianca got serious, leaning in close. She whispered, "Jasper, do you know? If I had been sick and taken to the hospital by Mommy, I would've been separated from her too!"

Jasper half-understood and thought of Emily, who was always around Charles. His face scrunched up.

Emily seemed nuts. She was nice to Jasper when Charles was around, but as soon as he left, she'd change, being strict and claiming she was his mother.

Jasper hadn't believed it and asked Olivia, who said Emily wasn't his mom.

Jasper propped his cheek on his hand, blinking his bright eyes. He asked softly, "Bianca, what's Mommy like? Is she pretty?"

For some reason, Jasper thought of Grace, who he saw last night at the Montague Mansion.

Bianca's eyes turned into crescents as she smiled. "Jasper, Mommy is super pretty. Her eyes are beautiful, and she's really gentle. No matter what trouble I get into, she's never hit me."

Jasper smiled, scratching his head. "Really? Mommy sounds awesome." He remembered getting scolded for breaking Emily's makeup and pursed his lips.

Bianca tilted her head, her eyes brightening. "Jasper, do you want to see Mommy?"

Jasper's eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly. "Yeah. Bianca, I'll give you money. Can you take me to see Mommy?"

In Jasper's mind, money could buy anything.

Bianca was stunned for a moment, then shook her head quickly. "No, Mommy said we can't just take other people's money. Jasper, even if you don't give me money, I'll still take you to see Mommy."

Jasper was touched and insisted on giving her his wallet. "Bianca, I'm your brother; it's okay. Take it and buy yourself something nice."

Bianca hesitated, then put the wallet in her bag. She replied sweetly, "Thanks, Jasper. After school, come with me. I'll take you to see Mommy!"

Bianca thought, 'It's okay to spend some money since it's from my brother.'

After leaving the kindergarten, Grace went to work. She had a job at a design studio nearby, starting as a designer's assistant, doing some tedious tasks. She was beautiful and quick at her work, quickly adapting to the job.

Soon it was lunchtime, and to welcome Grace, her colleagues planned to take her out for a meal. There was a food court near the design studio with many restaurants around.

Grace and her colleagues walked out of the company, chatting and laughing. After a few steps, one of her colleagues suddenly stopped, surprised. "Isn't that the famous Emily?"

Another colleague chimed in, "I heard she worked at that famous design company now. What's she doing here?"

The colleague said, "The man next to her is Mr. Montague, right? Emily is so lucky, having both a successful career and love."

The two colleagues kept chatting, totally missing Grace's expression.

Grace sneered. If they knew Emily's success and love life were stolen, they would have been shocked.

Grace followed their gaze. Emily stepped out of a black luxury car, looking all elegant in a knee-length dress.

Then Charles, in a black casual suit, got out too. They looked pretty good together.

Grace wanted to leave, but it was too late. Her colleagues' screams caught Charles and Emily's attention. Grace looked up and met their eyes.

Charles's face turned icy cold when he saw Grace.

Emily hooked her arm around Charles's, giving Grace a smug smile. Even a fool could see she was showing off.

Grace sneered, ignoring her, and turned to leave.

But Emily walked toward her with Charles and called out, "Grace, long time no see. What are you doing here? When did you come back?"

Her colleagues were shocked, whispering, "Oh my God, they actually know each other?"
