Chapter 3 Have a Great Night
Mia shook her head, looking unsure. "She shouldn't be. Yesterday, I had the family doctor check on Emily. The doctor said that apart from being a bit weak and having a scratch on her palm, she had no other issues."
"Emily must have been too exhausted at the Smith Family, which is why she's sleeping so long," Chase said after thinking for a bit.
Isabella's eyes were red. "My poor Emily must have suffered a lot at the Smith Family. From now on, I won't let anyone bully you again."
The four of them spoke in hushed tones.
Inside the bedroom, Emily stirred, rubbed her eyes, and sat up in bed. They immediately and cautiously moved away from her bedroom door.
Emily picked up her phone and glanced at the time; it was already three in the afternoon.
After freshening up, she headed downstairs and found her family sitting stiffly in the living room, their eyes a mix of anticipation and concern, clearly trying to act normal. A warmth spread through her chest, followed by a pang of guilt.
They all had their own lives, yet now they were all sitting in the living room waiting for her.
"Good afternoon," Emily greeted them as she walked over, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I woke up too late. I won't do this again."
"Not late at all. We just got here. I was just about to have some snacks," Mia said, calling towards the kitchen. "Amelia Martinez, bring the snacks over. Emily can join me."
"Emily, my studio just released a few new perfumes. Later, come with me to check them out and see which one is the best or if any need improvement. Your taste is the best; everything you've picked before has been a hit," Isabella said.
"What's so great about that?" Chase objected, earning a glare from Isabella. "I'm on vacation. Emily, where do you think are the best places in the world for a vacation? Take me on a trip."
Aiden immediately opposed, "No way. Traveling all over the place, aren't you afraid Emily will get tired? Emily, I think you should come with me to the family estate for a while. Fish, garden, and take good care of your health. If you get bored, you can help me research some of the world's medical mysteries."
Emily held the snacks, looking at her family sitting beside her, feeling even more guilty.
They were the ones who loved her the most in the world.
Even though she had made mistakes before and had upset Mia, as soon as she said she wanted to come home, they immediately showered her with all their love.
Just like now, they were clearly concerned about her, wanting her to forget James and be happy, but their words made it seem like she was doing them a favor.
"Thank you, but I have plans to go out with my best friend Harper Anderson today," Emily said.
The four elders, who had been subtly competing over how to cheer Emily up, immediately agreed upon hearing her words.
"Emily, have fun. Here's my premium credit card. Buy whatever you like," Chase said.
"Emily, take my premium credit card," Aiden said.
"No. Take mine. I prepared it just for you. Emily, take mine," Isabella said.
"No, take mine. Emily, I love you the most. You must take mine. The rest of you, put yours away," Mia said.
Seeing that the four of them were about to argue over whose premium credit card she should take, Emily quickly took all four cards. "I'll take them all. I'm heading out. Goodbye."
With that, Emily hurriedly drove away from the villa.
