Nightmare Marriage

PIPER

"It was a nightmare to accept a contract marriage with a devil-like Damon, but secretly, I still fell in love with him." I sighed; a year passed, and I was trapped in a contract marriage with a bastard like him.

Feeling that Damon was increasingly controlling my activities made me wary that I would no longer be able to meet Jeffer, my lover.

"Hi babe, have you been waiting long?" he hugged me because we hadn't seen each other for a week. I was forced to make Jeffer my lover, to take advantage of his help in my studies.

"Not too long," I answered,

"I miss you!" he said, kissing my lips softly. It felt warm; he was a gentleman; Jeffer was too naive to fall in love with me.

"I'm sorry, I seem too busy, and we rarely have time together!" I said I didn't feel good

"That doesn't matter; what about your project? Did it go well with Mrs Harley?" he changed the topic, creating a heated conversation.

Jeffer, my classmate, seems like the only one who understands my difficulties all this time, and we have been having an affair for almost a year. Jeffer was there when I needed a man to rely on.

"Alright, where do we go from here?" he asked as time passed and we finished our drinks at the café.

I glanced at my watch. Today, I promised Damon that I would come home early. I have a hunch he will talk about a promise I must fulfill. As long as people in his area bullied me, he never looked at me. Like I was a piece of trash, he was just passing by and blind to see my situation.

"I'm sorry, looks like I have to go home immediately!"

"Really? I was thinking about inviting you to Carol's house party."

"Tonight?"'

"Yup. I know you've been busy lately, but can we come there today?"

"I-I just…."

"Piper, I miss you; please, we'll just stop by for a while and then go home, I promise," Jeffer coaxed me with a gentle caress on my cheek.

"Alright, just a moment, okay!"

"I promise, babe, then let's go!"

Carol often throws parties at her house because her parents work abroad every month, so to cure loneliness, she constantly throws a house party—tonight's pool party theme.

I occasionally go to parties like this, so my college life doesn't get too dull. Even though I have few friends, Jeffer is enough for me. Jeff and I's romance is very healthy; we just kiss and hug each other to show affection for each other.

"Babe, I'll get you something to drink; wait here, okay?"

"Okay!" I answered

I tried to blend in with the atmosphere, enjoying the booming bass and watching the others cheer while jumping into the pool. It's too lively, I can't focus. My mind was elsewhere, so my eyes didn't stop to look at Jeffer.

Something seems to be watching me. Jeffer took two glasses to bring to me. However, his steps were stopped when a dark-skinned man blocked him. They seemed to be talking, but I cringed. I know this man. He's Hugo, one of Damon's people.

"Jeffer, what is going on?" I hurriedly approached him, then stood in the middle of them. I don't want this bastard to hurt Jeffer, who knows nothing.

"This man was looking for someone, so I asked him the name of the person he was looking for. So, bro, who were you looking for?" Jeffer repeated his conversation.

"Go home now!" Hugo forced me

"Excuse me, bro, you have the wrong person!" Jeffer confirmed

"Jeffer, I have to go now; I'll let you know later!" I said worriedly

"Wait, what? Do you know this man? Who's he? I've never seen him around here."

"GO HOME NOW!" Hugo grabbed my arm roughly; he didn't talk much but was firm in his actions, like the other Damon people. Very rude without compassion.

"Hey, man! What do you think you're doing!" Jeffer threw the drink glass; he pulled me close to him to protect me.

I throbbed as soon as Hugo raised his hand. He was trained to be fierce, so there was no way he would want to negotiate with small talk. He clenched his fists in a position to attack.

"Piper, let's get out of here." Jeffer was just acting like a man, but that's not how it works.

Hugo attacked, with his strong hands pulling Jeffer's hoodie collar and strangling him. Jeffer's body is smaller than his, and their strength is not comparable.

"No, Stop!" I protested

Jeffer struggled; he put up resistance, but Hugo strangled him even harder. The others started to look our way, looking at us like a spectacle they couldn't touch.

"Don't do this, please! I'm going home now, please!" I said begging

The veins in Hugo's neck show how strong his emotions are. Jeffer was choking, his breathing was short, and his face turned red. I panicked; he shouldn't have gotten hurt just because of me.

"If you don't let go, I will do something crazy and make things difficult until Damon punishes you!" I threatened

Hugo scoffed, and he pushed Jeffer down. "A weak man like you is like an ant that I trample on!" he said condescendingly; he grabbed my arm, giving a rough grip there. "Come!" he ordered

They pushed me into Damon's room as soon as we arrived at Mannor; I wasn't allowed to be in this room all this time. "Damon? What do you think you've done?" I protested, seeing him sitting on his sofa.

"I said you have to come home on time!"

"Am I late? It's not even time for me to go home yet!"

"Did you meet your friend or lover?"

I realized Damon had been spying on me. My life will never be calm again because of him. I'm haunted, and it torments me.

"How can my wife meet other men out there?" he continued.

"W-what??"

"You know what you must do after one year of marriage, right?"

My whole body shook. I have not forgotten how stupidly I gave myself to Damon regarding giving birth to him. To realize his goals in the family competition.

"Now? But why suddenly? I thought it would be another two months," I protested.

"Little sugar, I have to make sure you are still a virgin or not, because if not! I will kill your brother today!" he threatened.
