CHAPTER ONE: Where's your Daddy?
Bruce Robin sat on the car reminiscing on what he saw few hours ago, his mind were filled with rage as he has always thought of what to do to her whenever their paths across.
He plans on ignoring her for the deciet and betrayal she caused to him, then make her life more miserable for the pain he underwent years back.
His P.A, Austin pulled the car door handle before the driver drove out to the roadside heading to the company.
"Austin!," he called his name,
"Yes, boss" he replied.
Bruce nodded twice, took a deep breath, "I need you to find something out for me"
"The lady that work at the the tea lounge. I need you to find everything about her, and what she have been upto for the past 5 years," Bruce said softly
"Yes boss," Austin nodded.
"One more thing, her name is Alexia SUN. I need the answer before tomorrow noon," he pulled out a small old picture from his wallet and handed it over to him.
Austin was shocked to hear the name as it sounds familiar; he never believed that his boss would mention that name after what transpired between them.
He also can't believe that he still had a her picture in his wallet, after she broke his heart that made him a "playboy!" And not ready to commit to any lady. Austin groaned and nodded slowly.
At the tea lounge,
Bruce walked into the café that afternoon after the meeting he had with his client which did not end the way he wanted, he was forcefully invited for the meeting to honor the clients by his Dad in a private room.
Where he sat burning in anger, he felt something that stepped on his shoes. Bruce looked down to see the stains on his expensive shoe, then he saw a little girl with a blond hair hiding under his table smiling as their eyes gazed at each other.
The child stared at him with her hands filled with cheese balls all over her hands and mouth. Bruce bent down to the child's level, where she used his trouser to cover her face as the cheese stain the suit.
"Hey little child, who are you hiding from?" He asked. The little child did not say anything but to stare back at him, "she looked beautiful" his thought.
Bruce never liked to interact with children from day one, but he was attracted with the little girl's smile and one sided dimple.
"Where are your parents? And why are you here?," He asked, looked around to see if anyone is looking for his child.
She pointed at the counter of the tea sever, but it seemed there were alot of females on duty that afternoon.
"Is your mum aware that you are here, hiding?," Bruce asked, she chuckled.
"I am hiding away from my sister," she finally said, still shining her 22 whitish teeth at him.
Bruce turned around to look for another child, but he did not see anyone,
"You are supposed to be in school," he said, but she did not answer him.
"But, where's your Dadddy?," he asked.
She remained silent for a while, "My mum always tell us, our Daddy is in the sky watching over us," she replied.
"But today at the kindergarten, it's a day with Dad and we don't have a dad. That's why we are not in school today," she continued.
Bruce saw another girl that looked the same as the one he was talking to, he figured out that they were twins sisters.
"I found you," She shoot her sister with a water gun and held her hand, then she looked up to see Bruce.
Bruce took out a piece of money from his pocket and handed it over to the girl,
"Take this and buy snacks for yourself," the girl tried to collect the money, but her sister bite Bruce's left hand and threw the money on his shoe
"Get away from my sister, you are a bad man," she cried, dragging her away from his space.
But her sister smiled and said, "He's not evil like others, he's nice. Trust me!,"
She looked at her sister angrily, "Mummy once said, we should not collect anything from Stangers. They are evil people." She hugged her sister.
Bruce took back the money into his pocket, "Alright, fine. I'm not here to harm your sister," he assured the other one who looked sternly at him. He held their hands softly, "What are your names?", he asked,
"My name is Rita and my sister's name is Rhoda," she said,
"Friends?," he shook their hands gently while they nodded.
Bruce tried to ask them another question, but they ran off to the other side of the café.
Their mummy was waving at them as they hugged her tightly, he could not believe his eyes, right there he was dumbfounded and frozen for a second for whom he saw as the mother of the children.
She lifted Rhoda to her back while she held Rita in her left hands
"Mummy, where are we heading to,?" Rita asked their mummy,
"Our friends in school are having a day with their Dad, we got no Dad," she complained while shuddering her shoulders.
Their mummy smiled beautifully while she scattered her blond hair softly, "But you have me, my darlings. We are heading to the playground to meet new friends who are just like you." She replied.
"Mummy, we made a new friend," Rhoda said from the back, pointed at Bruce's directly.
But Bruce turned back at them to the other side still watching, their mummy raise her hand to the direction where Rhoda was pointing at to see the new friend but no one was there,
"Oh! No!, he's gone," she cried. "But he's nice, mummy,".
"I told you not to make friends with any stranger, didn't I?", She warned them, pulled their ears gently.
"Sorry, mummy," they cried.
Their mummy grabbed Rita hands, pulled the café handle and waved for a cab across the roadside.
Bruce looked at her once again as the car disappeared from his sight, Alexia Sun, his one time girlfriend in college.
