CHAPTER FIVE: FIND THEM!
Bruce have been restless since yesterday after the meeting with Alexia, he hated her more now than before. His phone buzzed; it was Sonita, the lady his family wants him to marry so he can get away with the weird feelings he has for women, but it seemed that it grew worse.
Sonita reminds him of college days, she was Alexia's best friend before her family cut tiers with the SUN'S as their reputation was tainted in the society after the incident.
"I love the way you touched me last night, we could do that more often so we can have strong bond," Sonita texted him. Bruce looked at the message, slammed his phone not ready to reply her text because he never wanted to be intimate with her ever again.
Bruce closes his eyes hoping to forget the intimacy but it did not leave, instead her calls kept coming which disturb him.
Another text popped in, "I'm close to the house, I miss you alot. Bye," Bruce looked at his phone, tried to reply but then the front door unlocked.
Bruce stares at her; her dress was beautiful, attractive, and sexy, but it never got him. Sonita hugged him from the back with kisses that followed as her lips brushed onto his
"I miss you alot, I can't wait for us to become official." Sonita touched his abs.
"Our sexual encounters are so intense that we can't keep resisting each other for years," She pulled him closely to her, Bruce did not say anything, but to kiss her on the forehead.
Just then, his phone rang again disturbing their space, Bruce looked at the caller; Austin.
"Hello, Austin, Any news?," he answered, moved slowly away from Sonita.
"I am in the guest house. I don't know If you are chanced this evening so you can see something," Austin responded.
Bruce ended the call, "I will be right back," he said and Sonita nodded, walked upstairs to his room.
"Uhmm, Sonita it would be nice if you go home. What we shared was only the nights and I don't think it would be happening again," Bruce said, opened the door to the guest house.
Austin handed over some documents to him, Bruce poured red wine into a glass cup.
"What are inside these documents?," Bruce asked,
"Alot sir, my findings," Austin said.
"Alexia disappeared from Los Angeles few days before your graduation ceremony from college school, her family disowned her after the discovery of the pregnancy. She moved over here in California to her aunt's house for shelter after she delivered the twins, working from one place to another so as to sustain herself and the twins before she got the new apartment she's currently living in," Austin narrated, took a sip of whiskey from another wine.
"Those documents contains the jobs she have worked including the apartment as well," Austin continued.
Bruce listened as he went through the files,
"She have had served in the tea lounge for past 10 months, but she works in the Market, mall hourly to get little funds for her education and the twins too," Austin explained further.
"One last thing, she changed her last name so no one could be able to trace her past or her family,"
Bruce stared at the picture of the twins and her smiling so hard with a cake infront of them, their 16 whitish teeth popped out well, their blond hair was gotten from their mummy.
Bruce found himself smiling, just by looking at the twins,
"The picture was taken when the twins turned 2 years," Austin said.
"And also this is the picture of you and your twin brother in the orphanage home," he handed another picture to Bruce
Bruce took the second picture to look at, he was stunned at first. He could not believe his eyes that their twins were replica of his twin brother, Joan; the tiny cat eyes, one-sided dimple too.
Bruce felt hurt that instincts, his thought was right about her refusal to apologize rather Alexia preferred to walk away, catering for the children in a tough condition.
"Is that all,? He asked, Austin nodded.
"Where are they,?" Bruce asked.
Austin cleared the throat "Well, the new Apartment she got few months ago. The tenants were given a quick note yesterday to vacate the house before this night," Austin said.
"What!," Bruce exclaimed
"Find them this minute, I want her close not far away again," he ordered.
"Yes, boss," Austin nodded, walked out of the guest house.
Bruce sipped the last draw of wine in the glass cup, still looking at the picture of the twins and the brother. He knew from the onset that they were not his kids, though he hoped that they were his.
His mind went back to those moments, and time Alexia and him were in love with each other in college days.
'Alexia was full of deciet, disappeared the night he doubted the pregnancy. The only reason she did that was the kids were for his lost twin brother, Joan who lived in the street and Bars, Alexia met him at the clubhouse party the house when she turned 17.
She cheated on him, wanted to force the pregnancy down his throat.' His thought.
Bruce kept on drinking, never realized that he had taken 3 bottles of red wine. He felt shattered inside for the pain that bore in his heart as he tried to wash away the pain with the alcohol.
Tears slipped away from his eyes, then he drank the last one from the bottle wine, and his phone rang again; Austin.
"Sir, I think we found them," he said. Bruce picked up himself, and drove with his new Porch 2024 car outside the estate while Sonita watched.
Sonita heard everything they discussed in the guest house, she wanted to find out what's going on in Bruce's life.
Her best friend, Alexia is back to their lives, her heart beats faster as she bites her thumb fingers.
Bruce drove to the camp field near the riverine where he saw a small tent close to a tree.
"They are homeless, and arrived here few hours ago," Austin let out.
Bruce watched them from afar, thinking of what to do either to leave them or help them, they kept watching them till the morning dawn set.
Throughout the night, Bruce remembered the moments he had with the twins at the school pack.
He decided to help them out at least they were his brother's children, even though he had so much hatred for Alexia but he had to do it for Rhoda and Rita.
Bruce picked up his phone to call his lawyer, "Hello sir," the lawyer said.
"Ken, I need you to do something for me," Bruce announced, "To draft out a proposal contract."
